Well, I need to catch Latios. Here's the catch-- I have no master balls, and no pokemon that know mean look. I even bred zubat for the move, and have nothing now to show for it but a level 40 crobat that never learned it. I also have few items and close to no money left. >.<

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should have posted this in Simple thread..

Anyway, why can't your Crobat learn it? Golbat/Crobat will learn it at lvl 33.. Try to get your Golbat evolves as soon as Zubat evolved to take advantage of its speed status.. Then EV-train its speed a bit.. Your Crobat should be about lvl 50 when encounter with Lati@s..

Then try to get some Wobbuffet.. Not sure if they can attack much, but I am sure they can buy time for you to throw some ultraballs or something..

Well, this is the Older Games thread, thought it'd be appropriate enough here.

Not sure, it just never learned. -.-

Thanks for the tip on Woboffet, I'll be sure to get one.

Actually, if u're still stuck, you could just have Crobat Mean Look the Lati@s and then use your best False Swiper to at least get it down to 1 health and then give it a status condition, preferably Sleep or Paralysis(Parasect works the best in this case) and then, even if you fail to catch it at first attempt, it'll still be roaming the whole of Hoenn with that Paralysis/Sleep and 1 health.

here's what I did: got a pokemon who knew endeavador (swampert, but any pokemon will do) down to one health, and when latios apearred I used it to get him down to one health, an then he fled. Then I raised a jumpluff to life lv. 50 and used sleep powder, tracked him down again, used sleep powder, got him to sleep, then he fled. The I used wobbeffet to trap him in battle while I chucked ultra balls at him. If he woke up, I would switch to jumpluff and used sleep powder again, then he fled, and then tracked him down again and then sent out wobbefette, and threw ultra balls, ect.
ask me for tips, and if you want, I will trade you for a clone of my latios (it's legit, from emerald) let me know if you have luck

Mean look doesnt work on pokemon after you switch.

You can catch an Ariados in the safari zone new area in emerald. Sactch it, it learns spider web (mean look with a different name) and baton pass, so this will work. Then Sleep it or endaevor it, whatever. Make sure your ariados survives the hit though, and your new pokemon is strong enough to take hits

I find Umbreon makes a great trapper as it leanrs Mean Look and Baton Pass (Baton Pass is while as an Eevee). Also Umbreon has the defense to take quite a few hits as well. Another option is to get a Smeargle with Spore, Mean Look, and Baton Pass as he can learn everymove though Sketch.

You sure Mean Look still work after Baton Pass? If so, it's not a bad idea.. Better than using one pokemon to take it down..
