This is a deck I've been assembling on somewhat of a limited budget, mainly using cards I was fortunate enough to pop in the few boosters I purchased a few weeks back.

Huntail seems to me to be a strangely ignored card, seeing how well it stacks up to Rocket's Sneasel ex. It might not be able to benefit from Darkness Energies, but its doesn't give out 2 prizes when KOed, and its attack counts Dark Pokémon on all sides when figuring out damage. If I can stack my bench with Dark's (Which is exacty what the deck is designed to do), or am facing an opponent who's running DragTrode or RockLock variants, the attack will likely deal out 100+ HP damage a turn, KOing many things in 1 hit.

I tried a Huntail deck last year. It sucked because everyone was playing unlimited in everywhere, plus it only used Team Aqua's Poochyena and Dark Celebi... But I have to admit that it has potential to wreck havoc, especially on those popular (maybe?) Dark Decks. I think you should have only Dark Basic Pokémon like Rocket's Meowth and Rocket's Wobbuffet so you can place them into the bench faster. Strenght Charm and Double Rainbow Energy could be some good options to either power up Huntail and Sneasel or to attack with Huntail quickly. Also bench filling Pokémon (Pick Dunsparce, but if you want this ready for the new Modified then DX Plusle or FRLG Paras are decent substitues) are nice for a speedy set up. Those are my two cents...

Yes, the deck would have been a lot more powerful before TA/TM was rotated out. A pity.

Yes, I'm trying for HL-on compliance. I don't think it would be a good idea to simply go for Dark Basics though, given that RockLock would then simply slaughter me. I've got the Meowth's in there as a backup, in case I need to do that, but I can't rely on them specifically. Thusfar though, I've not had problems filling my bench, with all the trainers. Ratatta's search isn't great, but it works, and that together with Meowth's bounce/search attack has been all I've needed in no-trainer-card pinches.

The deck looks pretty good. I'd take out the Lanette, though, and put in Rocket's PokeBall. You could also get rid of supporters like Rocket's Mission, and add in like 2 more Steven. Not sure if you have enough of those, and if not, it is okay.

Nevermind on Lanette. I wasn't thinking straight. :)

Steven over Rocket's Mission because you have a greater change of drawing more with Steven. Plus, with Mission, you have to discard a card FIRST, which might not always be advantageous, especially when you do not have anything in your hand. It also might tempt you to discard a Pokemon, which could screw you later in game.

Whatever, do what floats your boat. :) I play T2, and it definately gets out at least 3 Pokemon. It's not the most used deck in the format, ya know. T2 is going to die, anyways, once UFO is allowed in the format.
