I don't care what tier the Pokemon are as long as they aren't ubers or legendaries.

I'll admit it. I'm not very good at singles. I'm more into doubles and rotations, but since everyone plays singles nowadays I figured I might as well make a singles team....

Here's some Pokemon I'm really interested in using:

Sharpedo
Sableye
Hydreigon
Porygon-Z
Steelix
Crobat
Victreebel
Huntail
Omastar
Swalot

I'm interested in using a lot of stuff actually.

Sorry I'm almost starting from scratch, but can anyone help me?

Sorry if I posted this thread in the wrong section.

Edit: Made a team, not sure what I think of it.

Sableye (Leftovers, Impish) (252 Defense, 252 HP) (Prankster)
-Will o wisp
-Recover
-Taught
-Night Shade

Standard Sableye. It burns stuff and can heal off damage with Recover. Night Shade is to do some damage maybe, and Taught is there for defensive/setup/etc Pokemon.

Sharpedo (Adamant, Life Orb) (252 Attack, 252 Speed) (Speed Boost)
-Waterfall
-Crunch
-Protect
-Ice Fang/EQ

A physical Sharpedo used for revenge killing.

Gyarados (Adamant, Cell Battery) (252 Attack, 252 Speed) (Moxie)
-Waterfall
-Dragon Dance
-EQ
-Stone Edge

A setup Gyarados. It takes advantage of electric attacks with Cell Battery, and can obviously wreck havoc.

Venomoth (Modest, Leftovers) (Unsure on EVs) (Tilted Lens)
-Bug Bug
-Quiver Dance
-Baton Pass
-Sleep Powder

A Baton Passing Venmoth. Not much to it.

Porygon-Z (Modest, Life Orb) (164 HP, 252 SP. Attack, 92 Speed) (Download)
-Agility
-Tri Attack
-Ice Beam
-Dark Pulse

An Agility Porygon-Z. It can also take advantage of Venomoths Baton Passed Quiver Dance.

For the last slot, I'm thinking Hydreigon or Magnezone.

If you do pick Huntail, don't evolve your Clamperl until it learns Shell Smash. Then you can either have it as a Baton Passer, or as a battler itself. If you don't want it as a Baton Passer, I recommend giving it a White Herb.

Make sure you pick at least six Pokemon who do not share the same types; otherwise, your team will be on a huge disadvantage on certain types. You don't want your team to be like Ash's Unova team don't you (two fighting types, two dark types, two ground types, two grass types, and two water types can be a recipe for disaster).

@PkmnGreen Hehe, I already have a Huntail with the following moveset:

Modest (White Herb)
-Shell Smash
-Ice Beam
-Surf
-Baton Pass

Before telling me it's completely outclasses by Gorebyss, surprise is a factor too. :p

@Ghetsis-Dennis Yes, that is very true.

@Neodark

there is no such thing as a surprise factor when you are going to use any of the clamperl evos. Any decent battler will know that that huntail is used only as a smash passer. And both gorebyss and huntail have the same counters, so the surprise factor isn't exactly going to pay off.

If you are going to use a smash passer, may i suggest a HO team?

@Ghetsis-Dennis

You do realize that type-overloading is a pretty effective strategy? Especially, if he creates a weather team?

@CommandurrClowncrete Weather teams are another reason why type-overloading is a bad idea due to getting wiped out by a single SE move. It's why I made that balanced team thread to see if my claim is true.

@CommandurrClowncrete

Heavy Offense? It's possible. Although I kinda whipped up something that might work, I dunno.

Opinions?

I'm willing to let this topic stand, but I'd like to request that you add the team you've created to your first post in this thread. The Battle Center staff probably doesn't want to give other users the idea that a simple list of Pokemon is an acceptable "team." Ideally, all team threads posted in this forum should follow this format to at least a significant extent.

@Heathcliff Huxtable

Sorry, I know it wasn't a good idea to post an OP without some sort of team already planned out. I just wanted to start from scratch, which I realized minutes after posting it, wasn't a good move.

@Ghetsis-Dennis

Not just weather team but 4drag 2 mag, the 2 dragons team etc, all use same typed mons. the idea is to exploit the fact that most teams have barely one counter for each type. While one of your mons weakens the counter, the other finishes it off, leaving it open for another mon to sweep.

@Neodark
No, it mean Hyper Offense. Basically, you setup dual screens at the start and then setup with sweepers or smash-pass behind the relative safety of the screens and start sweeping. I generally suggest this since most HO battles are short and this strategy, while slightly difficult is really appealing.
