I'm having trouble with battle tower with my record being 48.
Heres my team ive been using

Snorlax EVs : 100 in each , 10 in sp. attack
-rest
-yawn
-zen headbutt
-focus punch
held item : lum berry
Ability : thick fat

Dragonite EVs : 60 speed , 60 attack , rest in defence
-fire punch
-thunder punch
-aqua tail
-outrage
held item : leftovers/shell bell
Ability : inner focus

Milotic EVs : not ev trained , didnt know about EVs at the time
-ice beam
-surf
-toxic
-recover
held item : flame orb
Ability : marvel scale ( reason for flame orb )

Any suggestions will be taken into consideration once they're not just downright stupid.

I've heard from many people that one of the best, if not THE best, Pokémon to use in the Battle Tower is Latios. It can't hold Soul Dew, obviously, but it is still a solid attacking force without it. A good substitute would be a Starmie with Expert Belt. If you want to abuse Marvel Scale on Milotic, I've always had good luck with RestTalk.

Can't help with too much else, because my record in the battle tower never has been great. I got to 64 before I got killed off by a Gliscor with Guillotine. I used a Sand Stream team of Hippowdon, Garchomp, and Lucario.

Restalk Milotic is much better than Flame Orb Milotic. You get the benefit of defense and a healing ability.

The 1/8 hitpoint loss, and the possibility of another 1/16 loss in sand/hail is not worth the defense boost Milotic will recieve.

ok Ill try a restalk milotic , what item should I let it hold ?

a scope lense would be even better as a critcal hit would help if your opponent is super effective aganst milotic

Soul Dew is banned in the Battle Tower. It's what makes Lati@s Uber. That's why Latias is allowed in OU, but Soul Dew isn't.

I hear whispers about Latios without Soul Dew being allowed in OU soon too...but that's a topic for another thread.

I agree that an Expert Belt Starmie would be a great pokemon to use -- it's a lot easier to get than Lati@s, and provides a lot of coverage. Try:

Starmie@Expert Belt
Modest nature
EVs: 4 HP/252 Sp. Atk/252 Speed
-- Thunderbolt
-- Psychic
-- Surf
-- Grass Knot/Ice Beam

Strange, I could enter my Latios with Soul Dew in Single, Double and Multi Battles. It is, without a doubt, pretty strong with the free Calm Mind.

Or does this only apply to WiFi battles?

I usually only use Scope Lens in conjunction with Absol. Super Luck + Move with high critical hit ratio + Scope Lens = 50% chance of a critical hit. Scope Lens isn't very good as a standalone.

Expert Belt Starmie is good for speedy hard hits, though a switch-in Scizor with Pursuit might survive a hit and strike while you switch out.

A friend of mine (thank you Exxthus) recently checked, and (for some reason) Soul Dew Lati@s is allowed. I don't think it was allowed in Emerald... no idea why it's allowed now.

And I thought my Diamond was screwed up >.<

Seeing that your Dragonite sacrifices Atk and Spd EVs for defenses, you might want to try out Dragon Dance. Since your Milotic already has Surf, replacing Aqua Tail with Dragon Dance might be a viable option.

Okay , I've working on a new ream for battle tower
I'm going to be using (Maybe)
Gallade @ lum berry
252spd/252atk/4hp
Psycho Cut
Night Slash
Stone Edge
Swords Dance/Close Combat

Ninetales @ undecided
252spd/252sp atk/4def
Energy Ball / Solarbeam
Flamethrower / Heat Wave
Dark Pulse
Sunny Day

Blissey @ Leftovers
Seismic Toss
Heal Bell
SoftBoiled
undecided

I think this team will do a lot better but I have 1 problem....
GARCHOMP , I'm completely walled by garchomp and can't think of a way to kill 1 with this team. For DRAGONITE and SALAMENCE I have Stone edge .......

I don't think I've ever seen a Garchomp in the Battle Tower before...

Ice Beam over Grass Knot, for sure. That'd be the set/nature/IVs I use on my battle tower Starmie, although I've always used wise glasses and have been planning on changing to expert belt.

Lati@s can technically get in holding the soul dew, but it does nothing. I am fairly certain, anyway... I haven't done calcs myself but it tends to be an accepted fact over at Smogon and it would explain why my Latios wasn't kicking as much butt as he should have been. :(

While Latios has more power compared to Starmie, I've found Starmie to be more versatile. But thanks to the psychic typing, it's no good to have Latios and Starmie on the same team... and I've found myself having an easier time building teams around Starmie (although I have yet to find a decent way of overcoming the battle tower hax... but am currently thinking up a new team).

Well, I guess you could put Ice Beam in that undecided slot on Blissey, but I'd also think about replacing Ninetales entirely (just see it being too fragile)... but if you think you can get some use out of him, I'd at least go with Nasty Plot over Sunny Day... and maybe @ focus sash in that case?

does false swipe work in the battle tower? if so try that for ninetails.

Why would you want to use False Swipe on anything that isn't wild Pokemon?

Why would you put False Swipe on Ninetails? If Ninetails is to be used, then it can't risk leaving something that could KO it alive even one turn longer. Just because False Swipe always leaves the opponent with 1 HP, it does NOT alwaysbring them down to 1 HP.

You can enter it, but you don't get a boost. Soul Dew's effect is negated. DUN DUN DUN.

I have tested Ninetales against a friend in a 2v2 , my ninetales got a nasty plot and his starmie hit it with surf , focus sash left me with 1 hp. I used energy ball and killed starmie , he sent out metagross and I killed it using 1 heat wave =) Ninetales is definately in my Battle Tower team but I'm not sure about GALLADE because he's extremely slow
