Would it be too early for George to get his third Pokemon? I've set it up nicely for it to happen in the next chapter, (which should be up tomorrow, depending on my beta reader) but there are other ways I could conclude the chapter. Please don't vote if you haven't read what I've written as of now.

Really, I think seven chapters without a third Pokemon is a bit much.

Usually the first few are tightly packed together, and then the next few are more spread out.

So in a 52-chapter fic, you might get three Pokemon in the first five chapters, the fourth in, say, Chapter 10, the fifth in Chapter 18, and the sixth in Chapter 29.

An interesting subversion from me - Rachel already has two Pokemon by the time she goes to get her starter - and she takes a Sentret.

Bottom line - yes, do it. It's far from too early.
 
If seven chapters are way too late, then call me Slowpoke. I've managed thirty two chapters with the main characters having three, two and three.

Just sayin'.
