I'm thinking of getting rid of AD (just the forum, not the chat). It's dead anyways so it wouldn't matter much. Plus I'm thinking of making an Ah! My Goddess forum. Maybe a site as well. But I want to try something other than invisionfree. And I don't know what's good for sites. Anyone have any suggestions?

I highly suggest changing your forum. Invasionfree is surely not the way to go and neither is freewebs for that matter. Some really good free forum scripts at the moment are "IceBB" and "PHPBB". There are a lot a good free hosts out there too *Hint. Hint*(http://mihopa.com) and you can easily be hosted by someone and get a short domain too.

Falconfider, proboards is alright and I haven't tried freewebs before but I'd prefer something that's not cheap looking.

CC, I said I wanted something other than Invisionfree. :-p And I don't really like phpBB but haven't tired IceBB so I'll look at that. And mihopa isn't available atm.

I seriously ask you not to go for proboards. It doesn't have many differences when compared to Invasionfree.
PHPB- Is good but has some security holes. It's upto you then.
SMF - Is good, really good and a lotta features too. Can try it.
IceBB - " "
I don't recommend MyBB or any other free script for that matter but Burning Board is okay, I guess.

For Mihopa Hosting, you need to register at the forums and post some.( For Free Hosting). For paid, you can check out the schemes available at the Announcement forum. The site is undergoing a Makeover so many pages won't be available currently so try the forums instead.

MyBB is good- if you ignore the bugs which should be fixed when it goes Gold. SMF is probably the best free forum out there. phpBB is only good if you mod it to no end. And IceBB looks promising, but the admin panel leaves a lot to be desired. =/

I know this is going to sound stupid but what's the difference between webspace and bandwidth?

Webspace is the one that is used up when you store data.

Bandwidth (or more accurately, transfer quota) is the one used up when you send data. The more widely viewed your site, the more of this you will need.

So, what should I use for my new forum? I would use Proboards, but it seems like I am the only person who likes it. Suggestions?

Go and download a script, then find a PHP/mySQL compliant host and then host it yourself. ^^

I'm guessing you're talking to Falconrider but a script of what?

When you use something like phpBB (which is really easy to understand) you have a lot more freedom, and can make your forum look like just about anything.

PhpBB I didn't like. And does that include for people who don't know any of that PHP or anything else stuff?

No, you don't need any PHP knowledge to try out PHPBB. All you need to do is, upload into your folder and install it. If you go to a host who has Cpanel, there is a pre-made script in the Panel and you can automatically install PHP in any directory you want. Also, you don't need any PHP knowledge to administer PHPBB. There are many awesome mods out there which you can easily customize to your needs.

But personally I suggest IceBB (Not because I am a Support Team Member. I am not anymore). It is an excellent free script and is easy to use. It's still in it's beta version but has a lot of features which rival the other scripts. It is also easy to install and configure. And, if you can make good layouts, you can easily change anything you want. BTW, If you want I can help you install any script or change stuff.

Not all CPanel installations have Fantastico btw.
