Hi. This is my first attempt to create a new thread. If it doesnt belong here, please delete it. But I personally thinks it needs a thread of it's own.

What do you think new abilities will be in the next gen? Or do you have your own ideas about new ability? Please throw your ideas here.

Me first.

Ability Name : Clear Sky
What it does : A pokemon with this ability will change the current weather (rain/hail/sandstorm) to normal weather when it was sent into battle. However, the ability does not prevent weather changes if the pokemon is already in battle unless it was drawn back and sent out again.
Possible Pokemon : Castform or any future evo of it.

I have two, first this one is like guts but maximizes speed:

Ability Name : Endurance
What it does : Maximizes speed if suffering
Possible Pokemon: don't know, possibly any normal types

This one is for any , I don't really know, maybe porygon and evos could have it.

Ability Name : Drain Field
What it does : Makes foes life stealing moves useless
Possible Pokemon: Not sure, maybe ones like porygon/voltorb line that are not the same as typical pokemon as they came from man made things.

Sounds a lot like rayquazas ability "Air Lock"

Or Golduck's Cloud Nine (For Non-Ubers)

Cool idea for the Splash thing Missingno. Master.

IMO, Iron Blade could be Razor Blade, and Iron Fang could be Sharp Fang.

Name: Evaporate
Description: If fire move is used on this pokemon, all of its ice moves will become water type, not ice.
Effect: If a fire type move is used on the foe, its ice melts and becomes water and acts like a water move (only works if this pokemon was going to use an ice move after the fire move was used and it works only once per turn)
Pokemon: Some Ice types

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Air Lock and Cloud Nine negates all weather effects while Rayquaza is on the field. But Clear Sky only activates when the pokemon enters a battle. But that was just my idea of an ability. But now when I think about the ability more, it is kinda sucky. :p

I love the Evaporate ability. :)

that would be taken advantage of really, really fast. Dragon Types would only fear Dragon moves

I got one

Focused Soul

Isn't this kind of like a neutral Liquid Ooze? For that matter, would it negate all damage from the move if life draining is a side effect (like Mega Drain/Giga Drain) or would it just negate the self healing part?

Spook: Cuts the opponent's special attack when the pokemon enters (works like Intimidate)

Cold air: Cuts the opponent's speed when the pokemon enters (works like intimidate)

Nail Sharpen: All scratching attacks (scratch, slash, etc.) have a 30% chance of raising the pokemon's attack.

Actually I meant if a fire pokemon uses a fire type move as the fires heat will met the ice, turning into water and evaporating it partially

It negates the move completly. A message says "It does not affect [pokemon name]" if the draining move is used on the pokemon with this ability

Here is another one I have:

Ability: Dumb
Description: If sufferig, forgets everything and can land any attack on foe as long as it does not miss.
Effect: If this pokemon has a status problem (minus sleep) it forgets what it is doing and attacks any pokemon with any move it has and itwill hit as long as it does no miss. (acts like oder slouth)
Pokemon: Slowpoke, Slobro, Bidoof
