I saw all of the new sets being made and I decided that instead of having all of these new threads, we can just put them all in one thread.

NOTE: A new set is not changing one move. A new set is either a complete re-combination of a lot of the Pokémon's moves or having it use moves that it might not originally use. Be sure to provide EVs (And IVs if applicable, such as a Pokémon with a Trick Room set having a 0 Speed IV), nature, item, and ability (if applicable).

If you have more than one set, then just put them all in one post.

252 atk, 252 spe, 4 hp
night slash
ice punch
brick break
aerial ace
alternate choice band set for weavile

Dude... this pretty much the exact same Choice Band set it already has except Ice Shard/Pursuit is replaced for Aerial Ace, which is an alternate move in place of Brick Break anyway. You can't just change one move and call it a new set. A new set would be either a complete re-combination of a lot of the Pokémon's moves or having it use moves that it might not originally use. An example would be:

Swampert
Nature: Quiet
EVs: 108 HP/52 Atk/96 Def/204 SpA/48 Spe
Item: Choice Specs
~Surf/Hydro Pump
~Ice Beam
~Earth Power
~Hammer Arm

And then you would go about explaining WHY this set is at least a decent set. You can't just say "oh hey this is *set*". For this set, it's supposed to give a big surprise to what usually switches in on Swampert. Specs gives it 423 SpA, which guarantees a OHKO on Metagross and Magnezone with Earth Power and a OHKO on Rhyperior in a sandstorm with Surf (all with max HP/min SpD. Also I ran the calc for Rhyperior twice and the first time I got a 2HKO, but the second time I got a OHKO, so I think it's a OHKO but I'm not 100% sure). It also has enough SpA to OHKO Garchomp without Yache Berry, although it's still a 2HKO with Yache Berry attached. Surf vs Hydro Pump is accuracy vs power. Hammer Arm is for Blissey. 52 Atk EVs ensures a 2HKO on min HP/max Def Blissey.

Sure there may be something wrong with it, but then other people can critique it and make it better... but as long as it's a set that hasn't been made already, because then it's already established that it's at least workable.

Wiil, maybe you should give an explanation that a "new" set is not basically the same set with a one move difference. If you are just going to change one move and want to know if its worth it, use the Simple Questions: RMT Version thread.

tactician, that's not even a new set, its a set used by multiple people who want to kill Heracross and Brelooms.

Good idea. Edited the first post.

I was going to put this in the Simple Questions thread, but I guess it fits here better? The rules for what is supposed to be here are somewhat vague.

So I really wanted to use Snore competitively, and this was the best I could come up with. It's really just a concept right now, so I didn't bother with EVs and nature.

Togekiss (Serene Grace) @ Leftovers
-Rest
-Snore
-Air Slash
-T-Wave/Body Slam

It is similar to the standard flinchax set but with increased healing capacity at the expense of type coverage. Snore also shares Air Slash's 60% flinch rate, which is very nice. I know, this set is almost certainly outclassed by a restalk set, but I enjoy it. It does have the advantage of guaranteeing a flinch chance while asleep, for what it's worth.

Any comments on how to improve it or construct a better set using Snore would be greatly appreciated.

The 60% flinch rate for snore actually seems good, its just the low power makes it almost not worth it unless you just want to spam paraflinch.

Old Luke set that I made and tried out back when DP was brand new.

Lucario@Life Orb
Inner Focus
Lonely
156 Atk/228 SAtk/124 Spd
- Close Combat
- Shadow Ball
- Agility
- Me First

A set that tries to use Me First. Spd hits 247, 494 after an Agility, which outpaces neutral Scarf 115s. EVs are meant to balance Atk and SAtk as Me First might get a physical or a special attack. CC and Shadow Ball provide unresisted coverage as well.

It sucks, but what can you expect from a really out-of-the loop person?

Zapdos @ (your choice)
Pressure
Timid
4 HP/252 SpAtk/252 Spd
- Thunderbolt
- Roost/Thunder Wave
- Heat Wave
- Roar/???

If you have Roar and Thunder Wave, then this Zapdos can mainly be used for status inflicting the opponent, make them switch, repeat. Then you can bring out the slower Pokémon on your team to deal lots of damage.

Of course this may not work because of the chance that your opponent will have a ground type when you Roar into one. Possibly after the second time, they'll switch to a ground type.

Articuno@leftovers
Calm
(need stats, max out EV on HP and rest on defense ans SP defense)
Mind Reader
Sheer Cold
fly
Roost

Leftovers to restore some health. Mind reader and Sheer cold to KO and Fly to evade a potential danger move (like fire) and roost to restore more HP.

Another good moveset would be with same nature and stats (holding Chesto Berry): the double team/protect is just for evasiveness or protecting while toxic takes affect.

Ice Beam
Double Team/Protect
fly/Toxic
Rest

Dugtrio @ leftovers
Arena Trap
-Protect
-Dig
-Toxic
-sandstorm

Come in to trap your intended kill, sandstorm up, toxic, then protect dig protect dig etc etc doesnt matter if dig cant hit/not doing alot of damage, the point is it take you out the firing line for a turn. then stall to death

The reason's no one has used that is because its defensively too weak to pull it off. It is meant to be a speedy and powerful revenge killer who comes in after your Pokemon has died.

Besides, if you were planning to use Sand Storm, its easier to just have a Tyrannitar and Hippowdon.

Who hasn't thought that up really, and Fly is just a waste of a move still.

I like the move Me First, but you have to be careful with it, as many Pokemon resist their own types and many moves simply won't be used against you. Therefore, it's very important to pick your targets carefully ahead of time.

Here are some potential targets:
Earthquake from Hippowdon, Swampert, Dusknoir, Mamoswine, Metagross, and Electivire
Fighting moves from Lucario and Machamp
Zapdos's Heatwave
Rotom-H's Overheat

Note that a lot of these are physical, so a larger attack investment could be useful. Either way, you should try running damage calcs on these to know exactly where you need to be. You also probably don't need much of a speed investment if you are carrying agility, as there are a lot of things you can come in on to force a switch and boost speed. The nice thing about this set is that it hits back hard on a few of Lucario's counters once you have come in and set up.

Dragonite @ life orb
Rash
252 SpA/ 100 Atk/ 158 Spe
Outrage
Thunderbolt
Flamethrower
Waterfall
great wall breaker, has a bit of trouble with calm mind blissey, but outrage, at the very least, 2HKOs.
I love the moves, but should i change evs and if so, to what?

Have you even run any calcs for this? How much does Thunderbolt do to the standard bulky waters before they OHKO/2HKO you with Ice Beam? Can Flamethrower OHKO Magnezone before it OHKOs with HP Ice? What does this do better than the regular mixnite: Superpower/Draco Meteor/Fire Blast/Thunderbolt? What does 158 Spe EVs accomplish? And how can you call it a good wall breaker if it "has problems with" the most common wall out there?

You know, lack of damage calcs aside, anytihng you would want to hit with a water move has much higher defense than special defense, and Surf would do way more damage.

such as?
I get rhyperior, but tyranitar is more of a threat to my team.
waterfall is also for a mix of physical/special

oh, and outrage is a definite 2HKO on blissey max hp max defense
on max hp/max spD gyarados, thunderbolt does 90.6%-106%
as for the aforementioned rhyperior, waterfall does 60-78% on max hp/average (no evs, adamant nature) defense, which is pretty common
max hp/ max defense tyranitar, i'll admit, is a nightmare. barely a 3HKO with surf or waterfall, but this team does not have superpower and brick break works only on tyranitar
