So I recently joined this site and I enjoy it very much, but I'm very confused about some of the lingo. Would someone please elaborate?
TRU, EV, IV?

Welcome to the forums ^^ I'm not too knowledgeable on the lingo but this is what I know:

TRU - Isn't that the OT name for event pokemon received at Toys R Us?
IV - Individual values, which is stats like HP, Speed, Attack, Special Attack, Defense, Special Defense and speed.
EV - Effort Values, Stats which you get by battling various wild pokémon in the games. Don't know what wild pokémon trigger what EV's though. I believe Zubat for instance does something with speed stats. EV's are hidden in-game though.

That's what I know :) anyways, enjoy posting around.

To be more specific.. Ev training is a way to control the status of the Pokemon.. Let's say a Shedinja.. It doesn't need Defense nor HP.. So you battle with Pokemon like Zubat, to maximize its speed, and battle Golduck, to maximize its Sp.Atk..

Whereas IV, If I am not mistaken.. It's kinda like ratio of the status.. However EV still carries more important role than it..
