What's good guys,
I've never battled online before, but I plan to do it soon. The team I have here is one i've tested on shoddy with some success--however, it is my first team i've put some thought into. The aim of this team is to deviate from the typical use of pokemon like ttar, gyarados, scizor, bliss and whatnot. I'm sure this team has many pitfalls and weaknesses, and I am open to the possibility that this team may be a complete failure. In any case, I'd like some criticism so I can build a good, well rounded team. My only condition is that I try to avoid as many commonly used pokemon as possible--im willing to use 2 OUs on the team. Bear with me, I'll do my best with my reasoning behind each.
Without further ado, my team:
Sharpedo--ShartOnU
Jolly, Rough Skin, Focus Sash
6 hp/ 252 atk/ 252 Spe
Aqua Jet
Taunt
Torment
Crunch
My lead, with a 95 base spd and it being jolly this allows sharpedo to be faster than lead gross, some lead jirachi, gliscors, and the like. Taunt stops sr setup, aqua jet for the priority move. Crunch provides a strong STAB and when I can't outrun some leads like azelf, they take a crunch and the opponent risks their lead if they stay in. Maxing out atk and speed surprises the enemies with a strong and fast attack (redundant i know) and focus sash allows sharpedo to survive and KO infernape leads carrying grass knot (i do take into consideration fake out, and if its the case i'll anticipate)
Lanturn
Calm, Volt Absorb, Lefties
40 HP/ 80 Spe/ 136 Spec Atk/ 252 SpD
Thunderbolt
Thunder wave
Surf
Sucker Punch
My SpD wall, he can take many hits and dish out too. 40 Hp brings his health to 401, which allows him to take a few hits with his SpD stat. Being able to take ice beams, fire blasts, surfs and absorbing tbolts, i can send him on a switch to throw off the opponent. T bolt and Surf is for STAB, while t wave cripples fast sweepers and serves to support the team. Sucker punch is used to throw the opponent off guard/finish off opponents. No nickname at the moment
Swampert-
Impish, Torrent, Leftovers
6 hp/ 252 atk/ 252 def
Stealth Rock
Roar
Earthquake
Avalanche
pretty standard Swampert in terms of nature and moveset. Comes in on a safe switch to setup, roar away bp and calm minders (suicune, mismagius, etc.) He's bulky enough to take a draco meteor or outrage from LO mence, thus allowing him to OHKO with avalanche. My only OU pokemon. I am a bit skeptical about the EVs, if there is a more efficient set then let me know.
Honchkrow--Ms. Cuzco
Lonely, Super Luck, Life Orb
48 hp/252 atk/ 208 spe
Drill Peck
Heatwave
Superpower
Sucker Punch
My physical sweeper for the most part--super luck is to play mind games with the opponent to make them think that my honch has insomnia. The game plan is for lanturn to cripple their threats with twave, while honch comes in for the sweep. This works out beautifully when executed. With honch, I rely on prediction for the most part as to when a DD is coming or when sucker punch can come in. 252 atk to max it out; however honchkrow isn't the fastest of pokes, and I also didn't want to not invest any evs in HP. Im still looking for a good ev set--Drill peck for STAB, sucker punch is for predictions. Superpower is to catch blissey on the switch or heatrans. Heatwave to surprise scizors that don't think honch can do anything.
Leafeon-
Impish, Leaf Guard, Leftovers
30 hp/ 148 atk/252 def/ 80 spe
Protect
Wish
Toxic
Leaf Blade
My physical wall, leafeon can be a beast. Maxing out def is essential (394 total), and the rest i attempted to balance as much as possible. Im still working out how many evs should be invested in the highlighted categories. Protect helps to scout/lefties gain. Wish on the second turn, protect next, rinse and repeat. Toxic is used to cripple fast sweepers, while leaf blade provides for STAB and high crit ratio. She can stall suprisingly well, and anyone that attempts to switch into it will risk a chance of toxic (steel types excluded).
Magmortar--Hans Gruber
Mild, Flame body, Choice Scarf
92 hp/68 atk/98 spe/ 252 spa
Flamethrower
Cross Chop
Thunderbolt
??--not sure yet, hp ice could fit in that slot
My special/mix sweeper, I want to take advantage of its 125 base spA yet also utilize its 95 atk power. Magmortar serves as my lurer-- switch in on a something that is fire weak, thus forcing them to switch. Usually they think they have me by switching into a heatran, which then they take a CC to the face. Flamethrower provides to sweep late game, and scarf allows me to outspeed a good amount of revenge killers. Paralysis or toxic assists with the sweeping. 92 hp to beef him up and 98 speed to support the scarf. Still, ev wise im shaky, so any help can do.
Hopefully i've done my best to describe to you guys this team and my goal behind it. I know I have many many flaws to fix, and i'm willing to take all criticisms (especially in relation to evs). Let me know what needs improvement, what's good, etc.
