I'm currently working on a new original fiction, and with new fictions, comes art of the characters. Below is Rem, my favorite character of the fiction. How should I describe him? His hair color is never the same for more than a week, he's 19 years-old, homosexual, sleeps around and acts like a hyperactive bunny. XD

The sketch was done on and off throughout the day. I'm moderately happy with how it turned out, but I adore the left hand. XD

Thoughts? Suggestions? Critisizm?

And here is my second art for the fiction, this time of Pepsi. His name is a bit of a tribute to S.E. Hinton, my favorite author. She's named characters "Pop" and "Soda" before, so I figured it'd be amusing to nickname a character Pepsi. XD

Erm, I don't know much about his personality yet, but he's a kind of a mystery character. You can't tell if he's straight, gay or bi. He never makes it clear what he is, and from the way he acts, you're constantly wondering what he is. He's kind of a comedy character, I guess.

His design is just nifty. I like it and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Woo. ^^

Thoughts? Suggestions? Critisizm?

Mmm, sexually ambiguous boys. *g* Rem reminds (rem-inds.. heh) me of a certain someone from the dear Pokemon show whom I shall go glomp now. ^.^

Pepsi *giggles* is h0tt. That shirt. He can keep it a mystery, as long as he remains pretty. Good luck working on the story, Seadra.

they both dont have distinguishing characteristics wich would make me any at all interested in reading further than that... :\ and the first one loox like his lower half is fat (i know baggy jeans but apart from that) they look plain, :\ plain is boring... give the second one my facial hair characteristics over a goatee, see attachment... its not plain, but its how i like my goatee/sideburns, lol... and just an idea for originality

They both look really interseting. Essecialy Pepsi seems to fit his character really well.

Keep in mind that Rem and Pepsi aren't the main characters. I'm still working on all the character designs, I just did Rem and Pepsi first because I had so much fun with her looks. Rem and Pepsi are more just supporting characters, and at times, the comic relief. Plot probably won't be revealed until the fiction is complete.

Thanks everyone for your feedback, it was very helpful. ^^

well yes but take a look at most of the succesful movies and books... originality, its the #1 thing readers etc. want wether on some internet fic or a multi-million dollar movie, no ones gonna wanna see bob & jane play checkers for 3 hours

Seeing as it's a work of original -fiction-, I would think that the quality and originality of the writing would matter more than how radically different the character designs are. A character that might be 'plain-looking' doesn't necessarily have to act 'plain' and boring. Even 'normal' characters are interesting in their own right, depending on how their creator uses them.

Anyway! ^^;

Rem is cute and fluffy. XD; It's very easy to picture him acting like a 'hyperactive bunny'. And Pepsi is neat - I agree, that shirt is spiffy~~ Yiee.

Well, if it's realistic, the characters wouldn't all have distinguishing characteristics. It would work like people. Most can blend in with a crowd. Anyway, I don't think it really matters what the characters like as long as the story is well-written*nods* The piccies are cool, though.*wishes she could draw* I like the anime style and such...

Well, you have very interesting characters to say the least. You seem to have very original designs, which is why I can't give any criticism at the moment.

*watches with interest as Pika-Zukin glomps Tracey*

Seadra, I've already seen these before, but I would publicly like to say that Pepsi is bi. The proof is undeniable. Thank you.
