MAny have speculated that a new console may com e out as all pokemon generations have come out on new consoles.

Well nowadays we have had no signs of new consoles being released.

But today i seen a youtube channel which said on it "
New Home Console Announced March 9th?"

After alot of searching i've found no inkling to it whatsoever.

Does anyone know anything about it?

On March 9th? Huh.... that does seem a little odd, especially since it's still February. Nintendo has pretty much confirmed that there will be a DS successor sometime in the near future, and it's supposed to have an NVidia chip-thingy in it too:

http://ds.nintendolife.com/news/2009/10/nvidia_powered_ds_successor_coming_2010

That's the "most recent" news that I could find on it so far, but yeah.... rumor is that it's supposed to be announced and/or released later this year. It's a more reliable source than Youtube for now at least...:sweatlol:

Whether they release the DS's succesor this year or not, isirrelevant to the Pokémon franchise at this time, as it's been confirmed that Gen V will be released for the DS. So don't worry, this time we won't have to buy a new handheld for the sake of playing the next Pokémon games.

Word from the wise. Don't listen to GCPM11's news. The second I read this thread I knew you had gotten it from him.

This. And I still don't understand why there's people out there complaining about it. It definately saves money, that's fo sho.:-D

And I believe this GCPM11 guy is the same one that created that fake Twitter account last year, or at least related to it. So yeah, that guy isn't to be trusted.

Well, in a way you are right. Some people did, but they blamed him for it.

I think that maybe it (gen V game) is playable on the new console as well as DS, for GB games can be played on GBA and GBA games can be played on DS.

What everybody said, do not belive all the crap that he said because he was pushing hoenn/sinnoh is going to be in HG/SS.

Also, Home System refers to something like the Wii, does it not? And the Wii isn't dying any time soon.

Home console usually means ps3/360/wii type console.
The DS and PSP are handhelds. And it would be offically confirmed and coming soon if it was on the 9th.

Remember, the DSi came out little over a year ago in Japan. Now, by comparison, the GBA came out three years after the GBC, so I really doubt any new system will be coming out soon. The Gen 5 games will probably include some DSi-specific features, but I doubt these games will have anything to do with the next handheld.

Also, I recognize that name, isn't he the guy behind GameFreak's fake Twitter account? I wouldn't trust him in the least.

He's the game notorious in all Pokemon communities for the being the trolle that won't die. He's like Bin Laden no one knows where he hides.

there is a new version of the wii which can play dvd's. seriously.
...You mean the Netflix service that's going to be starting up for the Wii? That has nothing to do with a new version--it will still be using the same old Wii, as it's a streaming download service.

Other than that, nothing of the sort has been announced. Nintendo has been avoiding such a service because of the licensing fee that they'd have to pay in order for the Wii to actually have the capability to play DVDs, which would drive up the cost. The Wii actually has the hardware to play them built in from what I've heard, but has the ability to not enabled due to that.

Beyond that, Nintendo has been quite clear they have no real interest in an HD Wii or anything for similar reasons, so I severely doubt this.
