New Goal For Future Female Main Characters In The Anime

Long title... but to the point.

Now, I know I am not a usual poster on the forums (if that makes sense). But I do have a question when it comes to the anime.

Now, again, being straight to the point:

Misty wanted to be a (top?) water Pokemon trainer.
May wanted to be a top Pokemon Coordinator.
Dawn also wanted to be a top Pokemon Coordinator

So, out of the three main characters so far, two wanted to become Coordinators.

So my question is:

Should the next female main characters (or perhaps male) be following the Coordinator trend? If yes, why? If no, what other goals (common, new, or unknown) should the future characters (other than Ash) be pursuing?

I think a brand new girly goal would be better than another Coordinator. But it depends what's in the Gen 5 games. We may very well just have another (or Hikari could stay, Piplup) Coordinator.

It feels like we've discussed this so many times recently.

I believe the 5th gen will have a new sidequest. I don't think the writers are crazy enough to introduce a third female coordinator.

I hope it'll be something completely new. Not sure what just yet; I guess it depends on the games and whatever mood the writers happen to be in. Just not another coordinator. Anything but that; just keep Dawn if that's going to be the case.

I'm betting on the main cast staying the same til gen 5, and am thus hoping Pokethlon or something else new is in the new set of games. Contests have long since run dry for the most part, unfortunately.

In my opinion next girl should be trainer.And while were at it if you ask me the best thing would be to bring some older character focusing more on him,developing it more and his story.Like Misty to expand more on her goal,making further steps toward it(like water competitions or something else).This would certainly bring something new and fresh instead of same all famale coordinator replacing.
Well i dont know about others but i would certainly welcome this.

As for other options having new female being ranger or doing pokethlon would be also good option,bringing some change.

Honestly i would take anything,except third female in a row doing contests again(sigh talking about originallity).If that happens,im seriously considering taking break from this anime.

Yes because someone that loves only misty that not a main journey friend of Ash since start of season 6, can't really watch the show.

If they are able to invent something as "girly" for gen 5, fair enough. But seeing as the contests have now been pretty deeply ingrained into the structure of the show, it'd be weird to have the show without them playing a big part.

Call me boring, but I quite like the setup as it is now. I don't mind getting another coordinator girl. Much as some people like to condemn Hikari as a slightly upgraded model of Haruka, I don't think that's the case at all, and I can imagine the next girl being a coordinator, not exactly the same in background or personality as our other 2 coordinators.

From where do you get impression that i only like Misty and how i stopped watching this show when she left?I have watched this show from start,and i still do.

True Misty is my favorite character and i would welcome her return in this show,but i like other characters too.I have liked Mays arc and her journey and development.The same goes with Dawn who had her good moments too.

However after two girls in a row doing contets,if all you can expect is next female again being coordinator(unless Dawn stays),than things start to be repetitive and little boring and i dont know about others but im for a change.

As for comments how main female "needs to have girly quest",honestly she could have quest which is less girly than contests and im pretty sure she would be positively accepted from audience.

They could just make something girlier than contests. I have no idea what that could be, but I'm not a game developer or writer so I wouldn't know. But if they can do something girlier than contests in the games, they could be in the anime for the new girl.

And lol@ "there needs to be less girler quest". The ratio is supposed to be 50/50 girl/boy. If that means stereotypical girly things along with a stereotypical boy hero, then that's the way it is.

Pokethlon's aren't girl blah blah. They could easily put a boy to do contests so why not?

I voted coordinator...I wouldn`t like another girly coordinator but we could have a tomboy in the main cast as a coordinator....

As said before, contests were already shown as an important aspect of the anime Pokemon world...they won`t drop them. And contests themselves are not so girly....

IMO a girl trainer would be nice as a rival...we can`t have 2 trainers on the main cast.

I say either keep Dawn as the main coordinator, or let the new girl in as something else.

However, If they want to keep contests going into Gen V then they need one of the Heros to be a coordinator. The best person to fill that spot would be the new girl.

I don't think Contests will not be here for Gen5 anime. Yes they probabely will not be in Gen5 games, and, to be honest, I really hope they will not, because game Contests IMO, especially in its DP form, are the worst thing Pokémon game creators ever invented. But as bad as they are in games, they are a whole different story in anime. As Ii Kanji wrote, Contests are ingrained into the structure of the show, it'd be weird to have the show without them playing a big part. If for no one else then at least for Jessie who already developed big love for Contests and it would be strange if she just forget about it.
The question really is not if writers will keep Contests, they will. The real question is if writers will keep Dawn for Gen5 saga or if they once again will change her with another female Coordinator. And as I many times stated, I hope for the first to happen, but realistically think the latter will be the case.

First of all i didnt said how "there needs but could be less girly quest",and for all we know next main female could easily be tomboy.Just because girl isnt girly and doesnt do contests doesnt mean it cant be appealing to female part of audience.

Actually this show already had two trainers at same time in main cast.
