Gen VI won't come for three years, but until then, if there are new HMs in Gen VI, what do you think there should be?

Well, I think all of the HMs should be involved.

  1. Cut
  2. Fly
  3. Surf
  4. Strength
  5. Waterfall
  6. Whirlpool
  7. Dive
  8. Rock Climb
  9. Defog

I also have a few new ideas for new HMs. HM 10 could be Psy Power; it would move certain obstacles to unreachable areas. For example, an Alakazam could move three rocks over to the side of a cliff, making steps up the top. HM 11 could be Forest Fire; the Pokemon would burn a big tree in the way (a tree to big to be cut), or the Pokemon would burn an ice cube that you would find in an ice dungeon, and would melt the ice cubes. My final idea is HM 12, Fire Freeze; the Pokemon would burn lava in the way, which would turn into a slippery ice floor.

Seems like an interesting idea, though I don't want too many HMs. They should leave out the useless ones, unless they were planning for Gen VI to be more challenging.

I stand by replacing Fly with a Psychic move called Memory Wind, which teleports you to any square of the map you have been to, instead of limiting it to just towns and cities. Obviously, there would have to be more complex restrictions, like having one point to teleport to on each route, and you wouldn't be able to just randomly warp halfway through a cave, et cetera...

Also, something like Lock Pick. To do the obvious.

I just want to see some sort of "out of battle only" training being able to be applied to HMs. So we can do away with HM slaves entirely.

I would have Defog become TM70, and Flash take it's place. I would also have Whirlpool become TM19, making eight of the originals. Rock Smash would stay as it is.

HM01: Cut
HM02: Fly
HM03: Surf
HM04: Strength
HM05: Waterfall
HM06: Rock Climb
HM07: Flash
HM08: Dive

Some of my new HMs are somewhat derived from Pokémon Ranger-

HM09: Quick Burn (Burns ice, usually items under, but often blocking passage)
HM10: Telekinesis (Creates new paths with psychic power. Replaced by Whirlpool as TM19.)
HM11: Rock Tomb (Causes rocks to fall down and fill a large crevasse not able to be filled by Strength. Replaced as TM39 by Giga Drain)
HM12: Shadow Trap (Turns player into "ghost" and can walk through one special kind of wall.)

Yes. Definitely. My main problem with lots of HMs is the whole needing a HM slave thing. It's damn inconvenient, if nothing else. I like to have a strong, balanced, battle-ready team and though I often feel I'm wasting a move slot on most HMs I also find it inconvenient to have to go switch someone over to use a HM. It doesn't leave much choice, really, and some of them should really just be inherent to the Pokemon without it having to be a move, though I can see why they did that and would never expect it to change. Bugs me on principle more than anything else.

I really don't want many HMs. I liked that you didn't really need to use any HMs in B/W to beat the game.

All I really want to see is Cut gaining a Power of at least 60, so that it's not actually that annoying to have to have on my team, and also some kind of HM that would replace the bicycle, allowing you to ride your Pokemon. The speed would depend on the Pokemon, for example you could, in theory, ride a Camerupt, or a Metagross, but they'd move at walking speed anyway, wereas Rapidash and Zebstrika etc would be on par, if not faster than the Mach bike.
