this is my own personal fanfic story thing, i don't claim to own anything from the pokemon franchise and all that jazz
the pokemon world is about 50 years into the future of all the games and stuff now ..... so yea hope you enjoy ^_^
CHAPTER 1
Beginning a new
The beautiful morning sun shone down brightly over the rooftops of the busy seaside city, the smell of fresh sea air and the sound of waves lapping at the golden sands of the near buy beach filled the air, the sounds of the ocean fell into the background as people and pokemon began to hustle and bustle to set up the morning market.
Wingull's cried out over head as the began to land in small groups on the docks, pecking and squabbling over the food the sailors would throw out for them, krabby's and kingler sit on the sand's basking in the morning sun as the late night staryu begin to crawl back into the ocean, stalls began to appear all over the port side as more and more people begin to fill it.
As the sun began to move across the sky, the s.s St Anne could be seen sailing over the horizon line as it began heading towards the docks, leaning over the rails of the majestic ship an excited looking training stared into the distance were his new destination lay before him, looking all around he couldn't help but smiling widely, as he watched the wingull sail on the breeze the sea air filled his nose, this fuelled his excitement as he new he came closer and closer to his brand new adventure.
The trainer was a fair bit taller than most, his shaggy blonde hair hung in no particular style, he wore a light blue shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a crimson read tie with a strange blue pattern over it, his trousers were black with thin white pin stripes and a pair of white canvas shoes, taking a pair of thick black rimmed glasses and placed them loosely on his nose as he turned and smiled to his pokemon partner and long time friend magmar “ almost there buddy, how you holding up”
The magmar sat close to wall near the middle of the ship, it looked up and smiled weakly as it held its stomach, chuckling the trainer hopped of the rails and sat next to the sickly looking pokemon “i guess it makes sense for a fire type to not like sailing” patting his friend on the back he smiled at it as he pulled it up “come have a look at the view ….... we'll be there soon” stumbling around slightly the magmar flopped onto the rails limply, holding its head up its eyes began to widened as it saw the sprawling new land “maaaaaaaaaaar” it said as its sickness took a back seat to its new found excitement, smiling the two looked at each other as the ship drew into the port.
As the ship anchored into the dock, large groups of dock hands and machoke began to busily hurry around, the machoke pulling the ship into position and hoisting up the gang ways onto the side of he ship, as one of the crew unhooked the chain the excited trainer raced down the gang way, his magmar close behind him, running onto the pier he raced towards the town as fast as he could, almost making a few machoke drop there loads he ducked and weaved through the crowd, looking back quickly he waved in apologie.
Looking out into the busy market he took in a deep breath and smiled “ well mar mar ….. were here ….. Olivine city” the magmar smiled, its sea sickness completely gone its healthy orange glow had returned as it looked around inquisitively its eye locked onto a tall steely looking building just past the port, following its gaze the trainer looked over at the building and grinned to himself “you were always good at finding the gyms ….. but lets at least look around the market first …... who knows we might find you that magmarizer” grinning he new that this would keep the pokemon's attention for a short while.
Wandering around he found himself immersed in a sea of wonder as he looked at all the rare and mystical items that were on show, darting to and from each stall his eyes were wide with intrigue as he scanned everything, from coloured shards and stones of various elements, pokemon food and poffin makers, fashion stalls and basic adventure gear like potions and balls of all kinds, even ludicolo dance shows made music ring through the streets, the excitement in the air began to make him loose track of time as he began to spend money left, right and centre.
finding himself with more things than he needed he began to stuff his finds in to his back pack, smiling sheepishly at his magmar saw that it was getting restless “ sorry mar mar ….. you know how I get when I get excited ….... but at least we found a razor claw for sneasel” the magmar rolled its eyes and sighed out a small flame as it looked over at the gym, throwing his bag over his shoulder he looked out towards the large metallic building, the sun was begin to set which sent streams of orange light pouring out from behind it, making it seem a lot bigger and much more intimidating.
Heading for the of the gym the cold steel walls grew larger and larger as it drew closer, there was no warmth to this place, it felt very cold and unforgiving as cast a large shadow over all that dared to bring themselves before it, taking a deep breath he brushed the stray hair from his face and adjusted his glasses looking over at his friend he smiled as he could tell it was ready for battle, its bright orange glow was brighter than usual, grinning back the two boldly walked into the gym.
As the glass doors slide apart the warmth did not return, the inside was coated in sheets of thick grey steel, large girders stuck out at different angles from the walls, everything was covered in scrapes and dents, burn marks could be seen certain places, the whole building emanated with the intensity of a battle arena, almost creeping inside he began to look around for any signs of life, venturing farther in a few magnamite drifted lazily past him, sparking of slightly as they passed, turning around he looked at his magmar he shrugged “i guess no one is in” turning around he was met buy a pair of large blue eyes “YEEAAAH”
almost jumping out of his skin he leapt backwards, a very frail looking girl stood in front of him, she had mid length brunette hair that went frayed towards the ends, her eyes were a very deep shade of blue and cheeks had a rosie colour to them, she wore a white tank top with a pair of grey white washed jeans and sandals, she stood timidly infront of him, holding herself close, looking up at him she looked like she was almost afraid to make eye contact “i ….. I'm sorry …... I didn't mean to startle you”
taking a breath he smiled back rubbing the back of his head “no its okay really ….... I was just looking for the gym leader”
going slightly red she turned her head away looking at the floor “oh …....... then pleased to meet you ….. I'm lilly” she held out a nervous hand
looking slightly surprised he shook her hand lightly “ oh wow …...... ummm pleased to meet you to” realizing he was still holding her hand he quickly pulled it back laughing weakly
smiling she looked up at him, a little confidence filling her voice “are your here for the gym challenge ?”
looking back at his magmar he grinned competitively “ yea ….. me a mar mar are starting a brand new adventure here in johto …..... and your the first gym we came across” turning around he smiled widely
“ so here we are”
smiling she began to walk towards her side of the arena “then I guess its my duty to show you how tough the leaders of johto can be” turning around she began to hold herself a lot more confidently, her seemingly timid nature was replaced buy one of quiet confidence, smiling he ran to his side of the field, throwing his bag down he looked at her, the fire of battle burning in is eyes, smiling at him she launched a pokeball into the air, a white light flooded the room as a magneton formed, spinning its magnets electricity sparked and bounced from it, its steely eyes locking onto him “magneetooooon” its mechanical voice echoing through the rafters “ and I can assure you …... I may look timid …... but I'm one of the toughest leaders out there”
looking in awe at the pokemon infront of him he thought of throwing his own in as a joke, but looking at his magmar he new that would only frustrate it “ you ready mar mar ….... time to show them what your made of” a look of seriousness had come across magmar as it walked boldly out onto the field, its orange glow rippling the air around it, flames licking at the side of its bill it began to stair down the magneton, its overwhelming confidence filling him with the same confidence, looking over at her he suddenly realized something “ oh buy the way ….... my names Danny ….. Danny Redwood”
with the two pokemon baring down on each other she held up a badge in her hand, he quiet confidence turning into a proud confidence as she held the badge of her gym “ this is the mineral badge, the symbol of this gym ….. defeat me and it is yours” placing it in her pocket she smiled “ but im making it sound to simple …...... make your move Danny ….. show me what you've got”
the pokemon began to grow restless, there powers beginning to over flow as the pressure of the battle began to build, both trainers sensing there pokemon's desire new the battle had begun.
“ MAGMAR ….. USE LAVA PLUME”
