I'm hoping they'll continue to expand the ways you can evolve Pokemon in Gen VI. Post suggestions of ways you'd like to see!

One I'd like to see is evolution by fainting. For instance, imagine if the first "lame mammal" pokemon you caught (i.e. Ratatta, Bidoof, Zigzagoon) started off Normal, but if it faints in Battle when above a certain level/happiness/a certain move or move type it evolves into a Ghost type?

Probably too dark for a supposed kid's game, but it'd be awesome.

Re: New method of evolution?

Using an item a certain number of times?

I.e. you use 5 Casteliacones on Vanillite to make it evolve into Vanillish (because you are adding ice cream to its body, lol).

Or, defeating a certain opponent.

I.e. Riolu evolves into Lucario after defeating a dark type (and leveling up? idk)

Re: New method of evolution?

I'd like to see more Mantyke-style evolutions (specific Pokemon must be in party to evolve), as it is quite forgettable on only Mantyke.

We've got Pokemon fusions with Kyurem now. Maybe we could have Shelder fusing with Slowpoke too?

Or have a Pokemon that only evolves when it faints?

Re: New method of evolution?

Right when I heard Pokemon X & Y , I thought there might be a new Evolution method call ''Fusion Evolution''.

Re: New method of evolution?

I want to see an evolution when a certain stat reaches a certain level. It can promote IV/EV training (which ever it is), and is simple to do.

Re: New method of evolution?

A perfect evolution method was possible back when weather was introduced. Weather-induced evolution can still be a possibility for the new Pokemon though.

Re: New method of evolution?

I do like the idea of weather evolution. Not like the Moss Rock or Icy Rock, but like, weather during battles + leveling up.

Re: New method of evolution?

it should come with a built in digivice that plays the appropriate music when you warp digivole a digimon wih a pokemon.
di-di-di-digimon-digital mosters digimon r da champions

i said this before i would like to talk to the pokemon "come on you can do it evolve for me please" the 3ds has a mic i think ? if not we just buy one £££

or if it evolves by feeding it certain food.

Re: New method of evolution?

An evolution by leveling up with minimum happiness would be interesting, especially if the next stage gains a Dark typing in the process. The Pokemon could have a high base happiness to prevent this from being too easy.

Re: New method of evolution?

The problem with fusion evolution, even in basic cases like Slowpoke + Shellder or Magnemite + Magnemite + Magnemite, is which pokemon is the "brain"? Meaning, which set of IVs, moves, happiness, and so on does the new Magneton keep?

The only way I could imagine this working is if you had, say, a Slowpoke in your party and there is a lab somewhere that offers to fuse it with a Shellder that you never owned.

Re: New method of evolution?

The bigger problem with fusion is that it is unnatural. Just look back to the way Kyurem becomes black or white to see why it is unnatural.

Already done with Tyrogue. Whether or not he evolves into Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop depends on his attack and defense stats. xP

Anyway, I don't really like the idea of fusing Pokemon besides the way Kyurem does it. I just don't see it working well. And as already stated, it's unnatural.

Re: New method of evolution?

I'd love to see more varieties of evolutions! And I'd love to see 4 stage evolutions instead of the usual max of 3 :D

Re: New method of evolution?

Pokemon uses mostly special attacks? Evolves into a special user. Physical? Physical user. Support? A support attack using Pokemon

They could design it similar tyrogue. That was a cool evolution design style.

Evolution was the most dissapointing aspect of BW, as other than some tricky level-ups (Larvesta and Deino come to mind) there wasn't anything new in this category at ALL.

As for that eevee trivia bit, I honestly do think that was a coincidence.

Actually, I meant it as a standard evolution, not branched. Unless you mean which stat is higher at a specific level. HP, Atk, Def, SpAtk, SpDef, and Speed. Is that what you meant?

I know it's already done with tyrouge. Except he also needs to be level 20. What I meant...well let me give an example. Let's say a new pokemon needs 105 attack to evolve. Once it hits 105 attack it evolves. That's basically it.

Ohhh. I see now. Haha, my bad. That would be interesting.
