Pokémon have released a new trailer for Pokémon Legends Z-A's upcoming DLC—Mega Dimension—and it reveals a ton of new information. Mega Dimension is currently scheduled to release on Wednesday 10 December 2025.

New Characters
Two new characters were revealed for the upcoming DLC.

"This mysterious young girl turned up with the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa in tow. She’s a talented donut chef. Eating one of Ansha’s donuts causes Hoopa’s power to awaken, allowing it to open a path into hyperspace." Hoopa follows Ansha around due to its love of donuts.

Fans have speculated that Ansha could be a relative of the former Kalos Champion, Diantha, due to their matching hair and eye colours. Both of these characters' names also appear to be derived from the carnation flower, with Ansha's possibly relating to アンジャベル (anjaberu), an archaic Japanese word for a carnation, and Diantha's from the genus Dianthus, of which the Dianthus caryophyllus, also known as the carnation, appears.

Returning from Pokémon X and Y, "Korrina is the successor to a line of Mega Evolution gurus. She aims to be a skilled user of every Mega Evolution out there. She’ll join Team MZ in tackling the strange events befalling Lumiose." In her original appearance, she is also the Fighting-type Gym Leader in Kalos' Shalour City.

Korrina is also briefly mentioned after the main story of Pokémon Legends Z-A has been completed; AZ gifts you a Lucario that was originally given to him by Korrina with the hopes of keeping him safe.

New Gameplay
Distortions begin to appear all around Lumiose City. As Ansha and Hoopa appear at Hotel Z, Team MZ borrows the Mythical Pokémon's power, unleashed by Ansha's donuts, to enter these distortions. They lead to Hyperspace Lumiose, an area inhabited by a variety of Pokémon not typically found in Lumiose City or elsewhere in Pokémon Legends Z-A.

Hyperspace Wild Zones
Each Wild Zone appears to have three Pokémon that can appear, conforming to up to three "common types" depending on the Wild Zone, similar to Kiloude City's Friend Safari found in Pokémon X and Y's post-game. While some of these Pokémon can be found throughout Lumiose City, such as Honedge and Chandelure, the Hyperspace Wild Zones are inhabited by a wide variety of Pokémon species that can't be found anywhere else in the game. Additionally, these Pokémon are capable of being alpha Pokémon. A full list of Pokémon confirmed to be returning can be found below.

During a player's time surveying the Hyperspace Wild Zones, quests can be completed to obtain points that are currently unnamed and unexplained. These are similar to the Bonus Cards found throughout the Z-A Royale. Examples of quests seen in the trailer include picking up sparkling items, catching wild Pokémon, and catching alpha Pokémon.

Floating Poké Balls can be seen around Hyperspace Lumiose. While unconfirmed, it can be assumed that these will contain rare items, including special Hyper Berries used for baking donuts.

Hyper-Strong Pokémon
Special "Hyper-Strong" Pokémon can be found inhabiting the Hyperspace Wild Zones. They appear at levels above level 100 and can therefore deal huge damage to your teams. Baking donuts with high Level Boost stats can help temporarily bring your Pokémon to similarly high levels to survive their attacks and catch these unusually powerful Pokémon.

Ansha's Donuts
Ansha's Donuts.jpg
Ansha bakes Berries into donuts for Hoopa to eat, boosting its power and allowing the player to enter the distortions and visit the Hyperspace Lumiose and its Wild Zones. The donuts' stats affect the player's experience in these wild zones, seemingly determining the maximum level of the Pokémon as well as the time available in the area.

A donut's stats are influenced by the Berries used to make it. There are five flavors: Sweet, Spicy, Sour, Bitter, and Fresh. Each Berry has a value associated with each stat; for example, a Grepa Berry has 10 points in Sweet, Sour, and Fresh, and 0 points in Spicy and Bitter. Keen-eyed fans of the Pokémon series will recognise the Flavor mechanic from previous games, mainly Generation III and IV, although the "Dry" flavor has inexplicably been replaced with the aforementioned "Fresh" flavor.

Each Berry also has two additional stats: a Level Boost stat and a Calories stat; once again, a Grepa Berry offers a +2 Level Boost and 65 calories.

Up to four Berries can be used to make a donut, with each ingredient helping to boost a donut's stats: its Level Boost, Donut Energy, and Flavor Score. The donut's Level Boost is the sum of each Berry's Level Boost stat, its Donut Energy is the sum of each Berry's Calories stat, and the Flavor Score appears to be the sum of each of the five flavors' values. Once again using a Grepa Berry as an example, since it adds 10 points to Sweet, Sour, and Fresh, the resulting donut's Flavor Score would be 30.

Players can also find special Hyper Berries throughout Hyperspace. These are more powerful versions of existing Berries. While a regular Grepa Berry gives +2 Level Boost, has a Calories stat of 65, and adds 10 points to Sweet, Sour and Fresh, a Hyper Grepa Berry gives +8 Level Boost, has a Calories stat of 140, and adds 60 points to Spicy, 25 to Sour, and 5 to Fresh, for a total of 90 points added to the resulting donut's Flavor Score.

Certain Legendary Pokémon have been teased to return in Mega Dimension, with a focus on Kyogre and Groudon. At the bottom of a page titled "New Friends Are Ready to Help" on the official Pokémon Legends Z-A website, it states that "Ansha may even be able to make some special donuts" depending on the Berries used, with two images featuring two donuts designed to match the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon.

The new Pokémon Legends Z-A Side Mission, "Shine Bright like a Gemstone," was released on the same day as the new trailer for Mega Dimension and additionally references these two Legendary Pokémon; Emma shares that AZ believed a "phenomenon in Hoenn" could have been "the beginning of all Mega Evolution," likely hinting towards Primal Reversion and its possible return in Mega Dimension. For more information on "Shine Bright like a Gemstone" and how to catch Mega Diancie in Pokémon Legends Z-A, take a look at Bulbagarden's coverage of the new Side Mission.

MORE New Mega Evolutions
Pokémon have shared their plans for at least two new trailers for Pokémon Legends Z-A's Mega Dimension DLC, with the second releasing on Wednesday 19 November 2025, and the third "coming soon." The graphic also features two Mega Evolution symbols, one for each new trailer, likely teasing two new Mega Evolutions to be revealed between now and Mega Dimension's release in December.
