New Pokémon LEGO sets debuting at LEGOLAND Florida on July 20th; visit the Pokémon Play Zone for a preview of new SMART Brick sets coming August 1st

The Pokémon Company International and LEGO are expanding their collaboration, bringing not only new Pokémon LEGO sets to customers this coming August 1st, but also setting up a Pokémon Play Zone in the LEGOLAND Florida Resort as part of their LEGO Festival. The festival runs from July 20th until August 16th, and features interactive Pokémon activities, previews of the upcoming Pokémon SMART Brick sets, and plenty of other experiences.

As announced earlier this summer, LEGO is rolling out their next round of Pokémon building sets on August 1st, but they’re already available for preorder now on LEGO’s website. There are twelve new sets on their way, and all of them feature LEGO’s SMART Play tech. The SMART Brick enables the Pokémon play sets to respond with light, sound, and motion after being built, and LEGO touts that “the sets are all about training, nurturing and battling!”

The LEGOLAND Florida Resort in Winter Haven, Florida will be offering visitors a preview of the new SMART Play sets during their summer LEGO Festival. From July 20th until August 16th, the regular admission ticket will also get visitors entrance to several special Zones in the festival, including the Pokémon Play Zone. Festival-goers can find a 15-minute long LEGO Pokémon: Trainer Center experience, which is still pretty mysterious beyond that participants will get to “train like a true Pokémon Trainer.” The Pokémon Play Zone is also where visitors can find the new SMART Brick sets, build their own LEGO Poké Ball, and interact with Pokémon SMART Play activities. Fans are also encouraged to take photos with the LEGO Pikachu present in the Zone.

The LEGO Festival is also advertising lots of other non-Pokémon activities and experiences, like a Music Zone and a new Formula 1 Thrill Zone. Check out all the upcoming Pokémon LEGO sets, including Mewtwo's Lab Break, Jigglypuff Concert, and Berry Bash with Bulbasaur and Bidoof, on LEGO’s website.
