I about shit a brick when I saw this, Disturbed, System, Red Hots, etc... gonna be an awesome game. To bad I have to wait even longer for it to come out on Ps3 :conangry:

Also, (finally) The Battle of the Bands mode will feature Harmonix contests that users around the world can compete in all at once online. Thats 4v4 player head to head, pretty sweet.

Yeah, I'm the one that voted no. Until I see a notice saying Rock Band II made downloadable content available on the Wii, I'll stick with Guitar Hero: World Tour, which already did that. Mmmmmm, cymbal pads.

Edit1: Although Modest Mouse makes a convincing argument....

Yeah, I guess the Wii isn't quite as suited for downloadable content as the 360 or Ps3 due to there being less space, but at least Harmonix is trying with the Rock Band "Track-Pack" discs they are selling for the Wii and Ps2, both of which I saw at Target today for 26.99. Which is a pretty good deal when you think about it, considering all the 20 songs on there are from the downloadable content library Harmonix had released at the time and buying them as downloadable content would have cost close to 40.00 dollars if not more. Really the only bad thing about it is that you are forced to pay for the songs that you don't like and it isn't "integrated" into the main game. Still, if I was buying Rock Band 2 for the Wii, 49.00 bucks is gonna be a steal for this disc, but obviously you are also gonna have to fork out a little more cash for the drum add-ons (which still make it cheaper than buying GH: World Tour, if you already have Rock Band.) Though I'll probably break down and get both.

If it were me, I would have bought all of the songs anyways, but I'm going to end up not buying Rock Band 2 in favor of Guitar Hero 4. (mainly because I don't want so many instrument sets and the Wii ones fit into the controllers) It just seems a lot cooler with their new guitar and the way they have their drum set.

Plus I like the song editor idea, letting me actually put songs I know in the game.

I said no because I can't think about RockBand II when the first isnt out in Europe yet.

My god, that track list... It's like the greatest hits of Supernatural.

Also, if I do get this, I'll be skipping the first one in it's favour.

Jesus, it's too overwhelming. Should I got Rockband 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour? I mean Rockband 2 has all of those songs, in addition you can transfer over all the songs you bought in Rockband 1. Luckily I already have the instruments, so I don't have to fork over any more.

I'm a GuitarHero diehard, but now that I look at it, I think I'm just gonna be buying rock band xD

Pretty good coverage of all things Rock Band 2. Some major things mentioned:
*There is a new Precision Bass controller, which has a dual flipper and thumb rest to allow fast "Bass-like" picking.
*The guitars feature a new way to calibrate lag on your Tv sets, the guitar can now detect your screens refresh rate and calibrate the lag accordingly. (I'm the most excited about this feature, no more using the annoying tap, tap thing)
*A 300 dollar Ion drum kit was announced, it works with Rock Band and is a real drum kit.
*Mad Catz is releasing full size realistic Rock Band guitars for 199 bucks These however, do not feature the new calibration system. (umm, no thanks)
*They are also releasing a cymbal add on pack. All three cymbals for 30 bucks or 15 dollars a piece. (These share the plug the bass pedal uses)
*Finally, they are releasing a portable drum kit and premium mic with supposedly studio quality sound and buttons built in.

^Shit that's expensive as hell.

Yeah, if you want to spend money on all the extra stuff, then yes. But if you already have the previous instruments, your only gonna need to fork over the 30 dollars or less for the cymbal add-ons and then the 50-60 bucks for the game disc. At this point we don't even know if the official rock band cymbals will be as expensive, or required to play the drums.

Hrm...

The packaging methods just seem a little out of hand at this point. I can't really keep track of all of it's sort of overwhelming if you know what I mean.
