New Rotom forms

What are they exactly, Form/Ghost? or Form/electric? I'm not particularly fond of them myself, but they seem interesting enough to play around with.
 
Again, Gamefreaks and them ideas don't get along.

Do I need to repeat myself :p
 
Post release syndrome. Happens after every game is initially released to the public. The only games to escape it's whiny grasp were Red and Blue, and that is only because they came first. :p
 
From what I heard, they'll all still be Electric/Ghost, which is incredibly lame :/ I mean, this is really just a retarded way to get new moves onto an old Pokemon. You've got 5 Pokemon that look different, but have the same type and the same stats. The only advantage I see coming from this is that Rotom can get an Ice move this way, to make a BoltBeam combo without Hidden Power, and it can get Fire, Grass, Water, and Flying moves too. It's a shame... Fire/Ghost with Levitate would be an excellent type combination, and I love the toaster form...

Hopefully what I heard is wrong.

You said it. One of 'em's a lawn mower. Then there's the washing machine one. Oh, and I'm not complaining about the game itself, I'm complaining that they couldn't come up with something better for the new Rotom forms.

Same stats? Have you actually looked at their base stats? Rotom has gotten a significant increase, not just a rearrangement. They are essentially a reversable evolution. Also they have the same typing.

And its a Toaster-oven or just an oven, not a toaster.

I could see you having to go to your house to change Rotom formes, and having the item it changed into disappear from your house. This opens up huge possibilities for fans of Rotom. I really like the new forms.
 
I like the Rotom forums, I can't wait to test them out. I was hoping they'd save a feature like this for a new pokemon. (I had an idea for a ghost pokemon that changes it's secondary type based off of it's hold item), so I was a little disappointed, but I still like the designs on them.

It actually reminds me a lot of Megaman Star Force, in terms of design.

Anyway, I quite like them all, mainly because I am a HUGE fan of The Brave Little Toaster.

I didn't hear people up-in-arms about Gamefreaks ideas when they saw the original Rotom. Most people thought it was quirky and inventive, yet it's abilities and general background are something right out of Poltergeist, making it just about the least original of them all.

If anything, these formes are making Rotom more original, because now it's inhabiting other appliances, it's harder to tie to Poltergeist.

I'm not saying y'all have to like them, but calling them unoriginal is a bit silly.

Its not a toaster >:O

And lawn mower > Fan > Toaster-oven anyday. Unless if your looking at practical uses for Pokemon trainers, then Fridge, Toaster oven then Washing machine.

THough if it was a Toaster then I'd be right with my prediction in the early days of D/P that a toaster pokemon will appear when people complained about the UFO being unoriginal, because we all know how many of those we've gotten.

I'm just wondering how big those things are, I mean Giratina Origin Forme got taller, are these Rotoms the same size as the appliances they posses?

Yeah, nothing says running low on ideas like doing something almost completely unique...

Personally, I like them all. It's different. It's not just a stat change and minor alteration of the appearance like with Deoxys and Giratina. And it's not a random forme change like Shaymin. Rotom's new formes manage to stick with the original idea of it possessing a television and expand it without disrupting the original idea. Takes it from a Pokemon that possesses a TV to a Pokemon that possesses household utilities. Gives the creators room to add more formes (c'mon, blender forme) in future games (unlike Deoxys, who was fairly limited, though certainly could have seen a couple more), but it has a nice range already, so it's not absolutely necessary. Could become the most versatile Pokemon (move-wise), given time.

And, people, toaster, toaster oven, oven. I urge EVERYONE to learn the difference. It might just save your life.
