I'm going to transfer the following over as eggs at the start of the game (just like I did in Platinum). Really need advice on what my final Pokemon should be. Will use this team competitively online.

All monsters except Gyarados will be IV bred. I can't decide what my sixth monster should be.

Forretress:
Relaxed 252 HP, 112 Attack, 144 Def:
Rapid Spin
Spikes
Gyro Ball
Explosion

Lucario:
Jolly, 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 6 HP:
Swords Dance
Close Combat
Extremespeed
Ice Punch

Tyranitar:
Jolly 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 6 HP:
Dragon Dance
Crunch
Fire Punch
Stone Edge

Gyarados: (shiny from Lake of Rage)
SR for Jolly, 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 6 HP
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Earthquake
Ice Fang

Snorlax:
Thick Fat
Careful, 220 Sp.Def, 120 Def, 168 HP
Curse
Body Slam
Earthquake
Rest

Final Pokemon choices (all standard sets/spreads, except for dactyl which is CB):
Flygon/CB Aerodactyl/Dragonite/Swellow/Absol/Zangoose

EDIT:

Based on the comments I've gotten, along with the BRILLIANT news of Extremespeed Dratini in HG/SS, I've decided on my final team member. This should help with the Fire/Fighting problem and give Improved synergy: Dragons Den Dragonite. Also, I changed Earthquake for Fire Punch on Tyranitar.

Seriously Extremespeed Dragonite will destroy ALL. You heard it here first people.

Oh, and remember: I'll EV train post game using berries and transferred items. Thanks to everyone for all their help. Plus, I can always plug holes using my Platinum monsters (see list below). Any additional advice very welcome.

Dragonite (from Dragon's Den):

Adamant, 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 6Hp/Def

Dragon Dance,
Outrage,
Extremespeed,
Fire Punch,

how on earth are you going to ev train your pokemon in game? :|

Well, just train them against pokémon that give the specified Effort points. Duh.
I can see that it could be difficult early on though. But later you'll have access to more pokémon to train against.

That is a very random team there. Ludicolo is a best lead if he sets up Rain then he has a lot better chance to sweep because of Swift Swim and etc. I think you should re-think some of the Pokemon.

never will be a fan of DD on t-tar too slow for that even after DD

just get an adamant t-tar, get rock polish set ur speed up that way

have you ever tried ev training in game? no pokeradar, no pokerus, no power items

you'll have to kill 252 starlys, 252 shinxs, without any chains, just searching in the grass

and thats just one pokemon :|

well if your willing to do that fine, but your better of just using a team full of your favourate pokemon, and then ev training a team for competitive play once you've finished the game

i go to snowpoint

machoke + sneasel

Well, I was intending to EV train them after the end of the game. There are berries that scrub EV's remember, (Hondew, Pomeg etc). Plus I can transfer over the Pokerus, Power Items and Macho Brace from Platinum.

I plan to lead with Forretress, set down as many Spikes as I can before switching to a counter (probably Lucario). The bulk of my defenses will come from Forretress and Snorlax, with everyone else focusing on smashing open the enemy squad.

I have a huge number of Competitive Pokemon on Platinum, including: Blaziken, Gardevoir, Torterra, Blissey, Staraptor, Dusknoir, Magnezone, Roserade, Bronzong, Mamoswine and Starmie. So I'll have plenty of options for modifications post game.

Just wanted advice on that last Pokemon.

well, you really really dont need to have ev'd competitive pokemon for in game play. it would just be too easy, easier than it already is :/

but if your really stuck for a last pokemon, you could use a special sweeper, so why dont you start with cyndaquil and get a typhlosion :)

wow. this team lacks serious synergy.
with a giant weakness to Fire/Fighting moves, i would recommend adding in a bulky water type.

are you implying an infernape beatdown?

I am implying a weakness to common attacking types. most teams have pokemon that will resist those attacks.

lol infernape was the common OU pokemon with those types that came to mind with those 2 STAB option.

wow. you just threw together 5 random pokes from ur box. lead with a sweeper? lol. t-tar gets bad coverage with eq, it wants fire punch or aqau tail to hits skarm who otherwise rapes tar. no sr? lol. gyara and mence avoid spikes so they rly rape this team more than others. lax is completely walled by rotom and gengar. overall, this team sucks

lol :| battling is about more than entry hazards

loads of people lead with sweepers, it's called anti-lead :p

I intend to Lead with Forretress, set up my Spikes, Rapid Spin enemy entry hazards, before switching to an appropriate counter.

Don't forget, I have an army of competitive Pokemon on Platinum (already listed) to plug any holes. I just didn't want to double up on monsters I already have.

I just needed advice on which Mon I should choose for slot 6. Personally, I'm thinking Extremespeed Dragonite, from the Dragon's Den.

This should massively improve my squad's synergy. Fighting and Fire resist, another priority move, Massive offenses backed up by great defenses.

I think Extremespeed could be the making of Dragonite this gen.

Ohm mah gawd. I completely forgot about Extremespeed Dragonite. I'm so happy, maybe he'll actually make an appearance in competitive battling again! It brings a tear to my eye.
