New types for Gen. 5?

some people are really stuck on the fighting, physic, dark trio for the starters which i wouldn't mind if they are used as dual types...

oh and some people are really pushing for a water/fire type which i honestly think is stupid

Dragon/Fire
Psychic/Fire
Eletric/Fire

We really need more fire type pairings. If we get another Fire/Fighting starter then kill me please.

A Bug/Fire could make sense. Based on a firefly or something.

Maybe a Grass/Fire... some kind of burning bush...

Are we talking new pairing, or totally new types here? A brad new type is probably unlikely to happen...

no to grass fire thats retarded

How so? There are many wild type combos out there, and Grass/Fire can work. Anyways I'd like to see a Flamingo pokemon with the typing Water/Fire(It would be pretty interesting), and maybe a Steel/Dragon would be interesting, I can imagine a mechanical dragon like creature.

Just to remind you, Dialga is Steel/Dragon.

Well, ice/dragon. Again. You all knew I was going to say that.

Water/Fire. I imagine a Torkoal evo for this one. Some kind of a sea turtle.

Fire/Ice. Some kind of yin/yang Pokémon, balancing out fire and ice.

Grass/Fire. A burning tree or maybe poison ivy. Poison ivy burns.

Electric/Ice. I don't know what being could possibly warrant both, though.

It's too late to add new types to the games I think. I stopped holding my breath for Light types a while ago. I still wish they introduce those though ...
The Cyber type is a neat idea.

I really don't want any new types. It was only done in Gen II to make things more balanced - Psychic was too powerful and fighting too weak. Adding more types in Gen V would just be a masive headache.

I wouldn't mind a new type to be honest. I know we still have many duel types that need to be explored but introducing a new type outside of the standard 17 will not hurt anyone...except dark types. Lol. I support a Light type!

but it's no really darkness as in shadows or anything, it's more of dark as in evil or corrupt or cheating. Just look at the names of the moves. A lot of cheap shots and immoral things get named.

Admittedly, Cyber types would be interesting but I really think we do not need new types.

However, Fire/Ice could be based on methane hydrates.

Flying/Fighting - That would be interesting. Possibly based on a bird of prey?

Fire/Electric - Well, electricity can start fires. Not sure what it would be based on though.

Steel/Fighting - Not sure if one is present but I was thinking something along the lines of Metal Mario or maybe an animated suit of armor.

Grass/Fire - I think a burning bush as the first stage then a eclypltus tree as final evolution would be interesting. After all, eclypltus trees are flammable (and reputed to be able to explode).

I can see the first stage classed as a "Bush Fire pokémon" and the final stage as a "Forest Fire pokémon".

Ability should be: Flame Body or Combustible (Pokémon has a chance of exploding if KO'd with an Electric or Fire type attack)

Have no idea for the names and moveset.

I don't think any new "types" should be added. The old Idea of a a light type to go with the dark type it stupid and might massively unbalance the game.

A fire/ground type sounds interesting, although heck knows how it would work.
