Id like to a cyrstal type of pokemon
it would be nice for a new type to come

Personally, I think the seventeen we have are a pretty good balance...

Crystal Pokemon would most likely come under Rock type, as Rock is the unofficial "Mineral" type.

This is very sad. I can fix that!
I think just for the hell of it they should slap on "Light" to complement Dark.

According to what I've been told, Psychic in Japan is considered to be Light, which explains why Psychic-types are weak against Dark.

I've heard speculation about that, but never any proof aside from weird justifications about Psychic types "glowing". In Japan, Psychic types are "Esper" - ESP. Which is the supernatural power of the mind used for superhuman abilities. Nothing to do with Light or Darkness as classical, magical, or supernatural concepts. Dark is strong against Psychic for the same reason Bug is - game balancing issues.

Took the words right off my fingers. Good job Zeta. ^_^

I think seveteen is enough personally.

Especially when they're having a hard enough time balancing them. 95 Water-types out of 493 Pokémon!

The game still has some balancing issues that another type would address. Namely - Poison is very weak offensively, enough to be laughable. Steel is overpowered defensively - to the point of insanity in some cases. Water could use another weakness considering that Grass-type moves kind of suck. Ice-types only resist other Ice-types and are weak to just about everything else. Both of Dark-type's resistances are unpopular. Considering that Grass-types are overlooked due to Grass-attacks generally not being very useful since most Water-types can shoot Ice, that type needs a new strength, too. I may have missed some, but in my weirdo ideal world, a new type would be:

Attacks:
* Are super-effective against: Dark, Steel, Water
* Are not very effective against: Ice, Poison
* Have no effect against: None

Pokémon:
* Resist: Water, Dark
* Are weak to: Poison, Grass
* Have immunity to: None

That would balance the game a bit better and give people to use Ice-types, and for people to use this new type alongside Electric to take down abudnant Water-types. And to include on Psychic teams to help deal with Dark and Steel. There'd problably be some other type interactions, but those are the major balancing issues I'd like to see addressed anyways.

Evil > Good? Sounds pretty sick to me.

I've come up with a few types:
-Light, weak to poison and Steel (both types of moves aren't very useful currently) Strong against Dark, haven't come up with resistances/immunities yet.
-Magic, which does normal damage to Steel, not sure about other types.
-And the third type I think would be cool is Sound, considering there are already plenty of sound-based moves they could easily have their types changed if the type is added, also it would make sense for them to be strong against Steel (considering what happens if a metal bell starts vibrating when someone's head is inside it).

That said, I think the metagame is balanced enough. As new pokemon come out, the makers of the games should have the sense to make sure that if they give a pokemon a strong type, stats are balanced accordingly. If new types were added to balance out the type chart that would mean alot of old pokemon that may have gotten somewhat poor stats to make up for good types will suddenly be weak and will need an evolution. Arcues help us if we get something named Lucawesome.

i see psychic as one that can have a balance beetween the rules of the earth with no-gravity and how it has unatural powers... it just break the rules of the earth so if dark could shatter the balance it may also be injured. That is what i see.
