New Wii game on the horizon: Game to be announced soon

Tsunekaz Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, was interviewed in a recent issue of Famitsu magazine. At the end of the interview, he says: "I can't give any details at the moment, but we're working on a new Wii game. We should be able to announce something before long."

Oh good. A new wii game is coming out. Not like anyone saw that coming.

Nope I totally did not see it coming. Just wondering though with TGS not having Nintendo and the Kyoto media gaming event having a 2 day Nintendo fest this will probably be the reveal point.

Can't wait; hoping for another RPG. I loved Colo and XD.

I did actually think this was coming. Except for one thing, it might not actually be. it could be just another WiiWare game, maybe a HeartGold and SoulSilver Pokemon Ranch. Since they said that there wouldn't be a Pokemon Ranch update for HGSS.

I'm placing my money on another Colo/XD type...
And crossing my fingers for it too...

should be a full RPG
With the Wii features fully utilised

it may be the japanese mystery dungeon wiiware games in english but hoping for colo/xd game

For Japan it would totally be logical to assume so. Totally.
Seriously though where are people getting Snap 2 and Colosseum/XD sequel bull if not stadium bull?
PBR=Stadium-handheld compatibility-minigames
Snap is dead for all they care
Colosseum/XD will not get a third game to make a trilogy. I mean what is there to expand on the whole shadow Pokemon shenanigans? Making a shadow version of Arceus to create an anti-creator? No wait don't listen to that....

Stadium 3 plz. PBR was half-assed. Stadium 3 would rightly include a Gym Leader Castle for Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, as well as true Stadium cups, not a "USE ANYTHING" first round and then the stadium-like cups in the second round once you BEAT THE GAME. Seriously, that idea would be like having a Pokémon game where you couldn't face any Gym Leaders until after you beat the Elite Four.

This. Colo/XD gets too much flak, I would LOVE to see a RPG.

Technically, PBR is Stadium Wii, just with dumbed down features. Also, if the next Wii game is called "Pokemon Stadium 4", do not expect mini-games, gymleader castle, and whatnot to be back. It's not like the original Stadium (jp) had any of those features. For all we know, Stadium 4 could be just as bad as PBR and PBR2 could be just as good as Stadium 2.

snap is dead and another stadium?? pbr was a dumbed down stadium. and that was for the nintendo 64. they didn't have one for the gamecube so why would they have stadium 3 for wii. back then they didn't have ideas for the wii probably....

It is basically a dumbed down Stadium. Just battling and all.

I think its a colo/XD sequal or the mystery dungeon wiiware game. Thats what I think

The dungeon wiiware its not. This is Japan they're talking bout not America. Unless of course you found american famitsu magazine lying around...

Regardless I hope it is not some puzzle game ect. or Snap. Dunno why there seems to be colo/XD hate... -_-
Anyway I guess i could settle for a stadium 4 or something... (though at least XD and coloseum HAD a plot.)

I'm just saying what I think.... why would I read a japanese magazine or even find one?

If this game is a product of Genius Sonority (which it most likely will be), then i'm personally hoping for a fleshed-out RPG that carries on the Orre storyline. It'd be awesome to see Cipher threatening the region again under the leadership of, say, Ardos who seemed unperturbed by Greevil's and Eldes' defections from the organisation.

The reason I hope for no PBR game from them is that, although i've never played Battle Revolution, i've seen enough gameplay and reviews of it to know that it paled in comparison to the Stadium games I grew up on. I was put off from buying it because it seems to lack the charm that HAL's Stadium series on the N64 held, as well as any identity of the main handheld adventures that Stadium 1/2 had with RBY/GSC (e.g. Gym Leader Castle, remixed main game music, trainer classes and other notable characters). This close companionship to the handheld games was perhaps what allowed me to enjoy Stadium so much.

Alternatively, and I know that this will NOT happen, I think that a sequel to Snap is overdue. Once again, this was a HAL Labs game which shows how in tune the company was with the franchise. Like I say, this will most likely be a Genius Sonority game, so I hope that they can create a classic. :)
