Talk about a major promotion for a summer blockbuster dovetailing into Free Comic Book Day, the city of New York is gearing up for a five-borough celebration marking the opening of Spider-Man 3, a week-long series of events running from April 30-May 6, according to the New York Daily News.
More than two-dozen live events, screenings, parties and exhibits are planned to celebrate the comics legend created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko an amazing 45 years ago! Among the events scheduled:
* The S3 cast appearing Apr. 30 on the Today show at “Peter Parker Place,” disguised today as Rockefeller Plaza.
* The New York Public Library will display copies of the original Spider-Man comics at its Humanities and Social Sciences Library.
* Spider Week at the American Museum of Natural History starting April 30.
Check out the entire list, including screenings of Spidey 1 and 2 during the Tribeca Film Festival.
