Many fans have been buzzing about the Battle frontier in Sinnoh from Platinum being in Johto in the anime but still the next regeon is the Orange Islands I think it'll be in Orange Islands who's with me!!!

Though I liked the Orange Islands, I doubt this will be the case.

I'm still holding out for remakes of GS, and it would make more sense to put a battle frontier in the Johto region, thus promoting the new games.

They'll probably never make any Orange Islands games, so there's no reason to go back there.

I would like the BF to be in the Orange Islands. It would be cool to renew a region that had under 40 episodes.

The way in which Gyms were done in the Orange Islands were more reminiscent of a Battle Frontier anyway each having their own unique style - then a battle with a head leader. So it'd be pretty pointless going back.

I don't ever see OI being revisited, they'd need Lapras back or a boat.

I don't think they're going to go back to Johto either, but what do I know?

I think it's more likely they're going to turn that island in Sinnoh into the next arc, where Ash does the Elite 4 while Dawn does the Ribbon Society.

I agree with Scott85, I'd say we'd have E4, then battle frontier in the island with Dawn as he said going to ribbon society while Ash does his training and battling, It might be interesting, especially with Stark Mountain and the sandy desert area.

If anything, it would be the giant battling island conveniently located right next to Sinnoh.

If they continue to stick close to the games, Ash will probably do the Battle Tower instead of a Battle Frontier...and hopefully he will do that after he challenges the Elite Four. I'd like to see him at least try this time.

Seriously, if they do introduce the Platinum Battle Frontier, it has got to be in the Battle Zone. That place would be perfect for a mini-arc. And, you know, a Battle Frontier being in the place it's supposed to be would be nice.

I love the idea of an Elite Four challenge which he loses and then goes on to the Battle Frontier! It would be a good way to go through with all the foreshadowing while still not breaking the formula too much.

Let me ask you this, people, what does another Battle Frontier arc accomplish?

During the first time Ash did it he had no idea what the prize would be, and when he did, he turned down the Frontier Brain offer.

Why in the world would Ash go on another BF challenge when he already refused to be a Brain the first time? We know he's not going to magically change his mind.

The only real purpose of it was to see Ash use his older Pokemon again, and we can see him use his older Pokemon again in the Elite 4 matches, not in another BF.

Tell me, what purpose does it serve?

Honestly they should have just had Brock do the Battle Frontier parallel to Ash's gyms and Dawn's contests. It would give him something to do, at least.

Well, why does he keep doing gym battles over and over and over? Because that's the way the anime works: going around and battling people. There needs to be something to do between Sinnoh and gen 5, and I really doubt they can stretch out an Elite Four tourney out for however long that needs to be, which seems to be quite a while as far as we know. Having Elite Four and Battle Frontier would work to fill in more space.

Besides, who said this BF's prize had to be becoming a Brain anyway? And either way, Ash is well-known for challenging stuff because he wants to prove he can. What reason did he have for challenging the Orange League? Or the Johto League? Hoenn League? Kanto Battle Frontier? Sinnoh League? Because he wanted to improve himself as a Trainer, and the only way to do that is to battle continuously.

And the ultimate point too obvious to point out: repetition and Pokémon go together like peanut butter and jelly (or chocolate).

Except that would be totally out of character as it has nothing to do with his goal.

There needs to be something to do between Sinnoh and gen 5,

There are 5 Elite members (he'd obviously make it to Cynthia or they wouldn't bother with an arc like this, even if he loses to her), and each is a 5 on 5 or 6 on 6 battle, which means we'd need at LEAST 2 episodes for each member.

That's 10 episodes at least, and we need our introductory episode where the gang just wastes time at the damn arena, so its 11 episodes.

Because he wanted to improve himself as a Trainer, and the only way to do that is to battle continuously.

And IMO, the Elite 4 arc makes more sense. BF is something Ash tried already, the Elite 4 arc is something new.

Except the definition of Pokemon breeder is very loose. The writers could very well have Brock meet another Pokemon Breeder who has a battle with him, which Brock loses. Then the other guy tells him "A GOOD POKEMON BREEDER HAS TO KEEP THEIR POKEMON FIT!!!" or some nonsense like that, which inspires Brock to challenge the Battle Frontier to test himself. The writers have come up with more outlandish things in the past, and since this would make Brock INTERESTING for once, I don't see how it could hurt.

Not arguing against that. Again, my preference would be for both arcs, if time allows for it. Just saying that another Battle Frontier arc would be completely in-line with both storyline and production standpoints.

Which is the key issue here. Since we have no idea when gen 5's coming out, any number of things are possible. Ash could just plain lose the league and move on immediately to gen 5 (or not, but let's not get into that again), he could lose and go to the BF, he could win and go to the E4 to win that, he could win and go to the E4 to lose and then go to the BF, he could win and then go to the BF to waste time until the Champion Tournament begins and then go to it once it starts to either win or lose, or who knows what. But a BF arc, no matter in what context, is not an impossible or unlikely option.

That is true, but since Dawn is still going to be around you have to think of the time for spent on a second round of Contests for her like they did with May.

Since an Elite 4 arc would only take 10-12 eps, Dawn wouldn't need to be doing anything (since she'll likely just be sitting there during the Sinnoh League itself prior), but if Ash has to travel again, Dawn is going to take up time.

My point is for the Elite 4 there is no traveling involved. I imagine it'd all be at one stadium one ep after the other, but a Battle Frontier would be stretched out along with a Contest quest.

You're right that the longer we go with no 5th gen news the more likely it is, but considering how rushed the last BF arc was, do you think the writers will do the same thing?

Admittedly the only reason I care is because I want to see Ash use his old Pokemon again. Kingler and Muk got excluded last time and I don't want to see the writers run out of time again and exclude some of Ash's Pokemon.
