As we all know, the first XY series dub season has come and gone, and 4? new episodes have been announced. Now usually when the dub changes seasons a new dub opening comes along with it. Just like all dub openings, it will undoubtedly feature clips from its Japanese counterpart, "Mad-Paced Getter". Seeing as the first XY season had a Pokémon Theme remix, I would love if they did a Pokémon World (Version XY) as a companion, seeing as that came right after. (But knowing TPCi, that's probably out of the question.) They could also just keep Pokémon Theme (Version XY) seeing as this season seems just to be a "Pokémon the Series: XY - Season 2" for the time being. They could also do a direct dub of Mad-Paced Getter, seeing as that opening translates pretty well to English, but they haven't EVER done that before, so that's almost more unlikely than Pokémon World (Version XY). What they most likely will do is just make an original opening revolving around whatever the season name is like they've always done since Pokémon Johto, assuming this new season changes from its tentative title.

What do you think? How will they handle the new dub theme?

I assume it will be an original song, though the lack of a standard season subtitle makes it difficult to say what direction they'll go in, particularly since I have yet to hear the dub ending song to movie 17.

I'm so curious to hear the new theme song!
Weeks ago i have tried to make a possible opening of the second season using a re-arrangment of Pokémon World's song, and i imagined something like that:

If the video is a problem, tell me, and i will remove immediately.

Pokémon World (Version XY)
I cannot even begin to express how amazing it would be if this was done, especially if they used the same hip hop style.

Just...yeah, this would be awesome. I don't think it's very likely, though, and the new opening theme will probably just be a new song. Hopefully it's not like the low-quality openings we've gotten from Seasons 10-16, but it very well may be.

It's probably just the Season 17 theme but with new clips from recent episodes and/or the new Japanese opening.

Season =/= Opening, although admittedly ever since Season 7 seasons did match the openings... but it's definitely not a rule. And considering how disappointing the BW openings were, personally I'd probably rather them to just create a new clip but keep using the current song, since I'm sure it'll be better than any new song they'll create. If they truly don't try to stick some "subtitle" to the show this time, maybe it's more likely they'll just keep the same theme.
As for the idea of dubbing the Japanese OP..... I'd love that, but we all know that's never happening. Even if they wanted to they'd probably be unable to do it due to the obvious 30 seconds limit on the dub openings runtime.

That...is...perfect. Perfectly captures what I had in mind, while still adhering to Cartoon Network's limit.

No it doesn't. This clocks in at 41 seconds, it needs to be 30 seconds to adhere to the Cartoon Network limit.

As for that video, that remix is absolutely horrible. I hope to God the next theme, whether it's a Pokémon World remix or not, doesn't sound as awful as... that.

Have in mind that Battle Cry - (Stand Up!) was 38 seconds long and was still allowed in Cartoon Network, though I'm not sure why. Also with this video you could easily cut the first 5 seconds and the last 5 as well.

As for the song, I really like it. Sounds too hardcore both for my tastes and for a Pokémon intro, but overall it's a great remix, at least from the chorus onwards. And it's thousands of times better than the BW intros anyway; considering the pattern, I believe the next intro is going to sound okay as long as David Wolfert doesn't work on it.

Well that extra 10 seconds they had for only one season might have gone towards the "Who's That Pokémon?" since that's 10 seconds. But I never noticed Battle Cry - (Stand Up!) was 40 seconds before. That's neat!

Meh, I disagree. The BW intros were pretty good in my opinion and were some of my all-time favorites. This how, is something that just doesn't meld well with Pokémon. I'm just glad this is a bad fan opening and not the real thing or else I would be ticked.

The only way that is going to happen is if they re-use an old theme song, like Pokémon World. Wolfert has written every original theme song for TPCi up until XY, which was a remake of a song we never wrote. If they opt to go with an original one, chances are Wolfert will be writing,

I think the first BW intro was kinda good. Went downhill from there though.

I'm sorry, by "working on it" I meant working on the score. Battle Cry - (Stand Up!) had Wolfert writing the lyrics but with Manny Corallo in charge of the score, and it turned out really well. Best TPCi intro in my opinion.

Still, come to think about it, my logic is pretty flawed considering all but three dub intros were also done by John Loeffler, so it isn't a problem of who works on the intros as they're all varied in quality, and almost all of them have more or less the same people working on them. I'll just say Loeffler and Wolfert have been on a bad streak since We Will Carry On. I mean, in my opinion, the BW songs are all pretty good on their full movie versions, but they just sound too similar and generic on the TV version. I don't like them in the sense that they sound too much like each other, not because of each individual song. So I hope now they can adapt to the 30-second limit without making the song sound too similar to those.

It will probably be another slow and simple song composed with images from Getter ban ban and nothing else.

Pokemon World is popular, but nowhere as far as Pokemon Theme. But I wouldn't rule it out, because it's probably cheaper than making their own songs.

I think John Loeffler is a hit or a miss. Just hope he doesn't disappoint with the next opening.

Actually, the person in charge of the music for the dub now is Ed Goldfarb. Of course, if the theme really is based on the old "Pokemon World" song, John did write that.

Personally, I think it would be really awesome if they did a rearrangement/re-recording of the first Pokémon Advanced them. It would keep in thematically with the first XY theme of being a remix, while tying into the recent ORAS release and the undoubtedly upcoming Hoenn love (such as the Treecko trainer). Not to mention it would be absolutely perfect as the full opening to the new movie (featuring Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza).

There's nowhere near the same degree of nostalgia for any of the other openings.

My assumption is we're going to get a totally new song, but I don't think they would need to find a way to work in parts of the title - the last Unova theme "It's always you and me" didn't make any reference to Adventures in Unova. They'll just follow the usual opening theme template of being on a journey and repeating the word Pokemon a lot.

I either see them just sticking with Pokemon Theme XY and using new clips from Mega Volt and Mad-Paced Getter or just doing a whole new song; Pokemon Theme is pretty popular among dub fans but Pokemon World less so t̶o̶o̶ ̶b̶a̶d̶ ̶P̶o̶k̶e̶m̶o̶n̶ ̶J̶o̶h̶t̶o̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶f̶i̶t̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶a̶l̶l̶ ̶b̶c̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶s̶h̶i̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶j̶a̶m̶. While every Best Wishes theme song was kinda bad after season 14 the one for XY, all of the Diamond and Pearl ones (except maybe the DP Rap) and even Battle Frontier ranged from pretty ok to fairly good so if it is a new song it won't necessarily be terrible.

Although there's no doubt it won't be as good as any of the Japanese openings.
