Next Gyms

Well, we have a "Next Contests" thread so why not?
Tell us your predictions for the next two Gym Battles we are going to see.

I believe both Cnaidce and Volkner will use their Diamond/Pearl teams and not the Platinum teams, we already saw a lot of Platinum influence until now (Zapdos, Rotom, Poketch) yet Byron did not change his team.
For the Snowpoint Gym I guess Ash will use his Chimchar (possibly Monferno by then), Buizel (you just know they will use it again and it also has this ice aqua jet thing), Gliscor (fire moves good against ice) and either Staravia (for Medicham) or Grotle (weakness to ice but it still did not do a Gym)
Then for Sunnyshore I am sure Ash will use: Pikachu, Gliscor, Monferno and Grotle.
If we see Paul in the last Gym he might have Electivire by then.

i think if both gyms are 3 on 3 then
candice he will use Pikachu, chimchar, buizel
volkner he will use pikachu, grotel, gliscor
*i can see for the 8th gym ash possibly bringing back some of his older pokemon but it is unlikely

does any one know for sure if chimchar is suposed to evolve??? or is this just hoping?

The only thing I care about is NOT having Buizel in any more gym battles. Between the Trade, and the tag battle tournement, and the wallace cup, and the last few gyms, that pokemon has had enough screen time and "badass" battles to last it till the League. I'd like to see Ash use Grotle in the next two gyms, and Staravia needs some screen time too.

Ash better have Staraptor by the time we get to Candice.

If we have Monferno, Staraptor and either Grotle/Gliscor against Candice, it will be an amazing battle.

Maybe he did it because... how could it be, these Gyms require 4 Pokémon and not 3 like the previous ones
While I liek Buizel I guess I have to agree it should take a break but the Aqua Jet is enough to assume Ash WILL use it against Candice
At least for Volkner Grotle has a chance

Pikachu is pretty much a given against Volkner too, due to him having Raichu and it being an electric type Gym.

Since Ash takes into account the types in DP I guess Grotle and Gliscor are also safe for Volkner

i would say
7th gym pikachu, staravia, chimchar,buizel
8th gym pikachu, grotel, gliscor, chimchar* maybe instead of chimchar ash will bring in a back up pokemon suck as snorlax or donphan which would be good in that gym but i dont see this happening

I'm guessing that Gliscor would learn Ice Fang in the Ice Gym and Thunder Fang in the Thunder Gym. That would be interesting. XD

I would like to see Gliscor, Grotle, Pikachu and Monferno in the 7th gym. You know, Ash like to overcome type disadvantages. Pikachu needs more screentime in Sinnoh, and Ash would at least save Monferno for the advantage. For the 8th gym. I would like to have Gliscor, Grotle, Staravia/Staraptor and Pikachu. Type disadvantages, Electric VS Electric, the other two for advantages

Please, no more Buizel for the next gyms. I think Chimchar will be Monferno before the next gym so it'll most likely be used then as well.

Staravia could probably help take down Ambipom or Octillery if Volkner uses his D/P team. If not then I guess switch Staravia with Monferno. I just don't want Buizel used again for a while. -_-

You know, that reminds me, Has anyone noticed that Pikachu hasn't won a Gym battle since the Juan Battle way back in Hoenn? (That's not counting Crasher Wake, as it wasn't the one who delivered the finishing blow against Wake's final pokemon.). It'd better get a gym battle where the spotlight is focused on it, and where it actually beats the final pokemon, because this will be the only region where Pikachu hasn't won against at LEAST one Gym Leader.

he has one many victories in sinnoh i have no idea what you are talking about maybe that he hasnt beaten the final poke or somthng? what ever... it doesnt matter he has been used in EVERY gym so far and has alot of victories in both sinnoh and BF

Electric Gym with Raichu, Electivire, and Luxray sayz hi. And I think that it would be a good idea to save Pikachu for last, since we'll have forever to see Pikachu take on gym leaders, but only 8 gyms for the Sinnoh crew, barring a Battle Frontier type deal.

The less Pikachu the better.

One of the reasons Johto's Gym battles bugged me is Pikachu was in every single one of them and his other Johto Pokemon hardly got any screentime.

Heracross and Phanpy never got a Gym battle in Johto, and Totodile/Noctowl only got 1 Gym appearance a piece.

The writers shoved Pikachu into every single Gym in Johto, not even thinking that it was taking screentime away from his other Johto Pokemon. Pretty sad, really.
