A thread to discuss your predictions for the next Pokemon games (both spin-offs and main games) that will be succeed HGSS and PokePark Wii.

This year, I think we'll see a new PMD on the DS (possibly centering around Lugia), a third Ranger, WiiWare games, a Snap sequel on the DS, a completely new spin-off on the wii (a Fighting game would be quite epic), and MindCrystal. (You knew I would say this, didn't you? :p) (inb4 "MindCrystal will never happen" posts, take that to the MC thread, thank you very much~)

As for next year, I expect a Genius Sonority battling title on the Wii (which I hope will be an XD sequel) and a slew of spin-offs that I haven't really put a thought in.

Then Gen V in 2012, and after that I have no clue, except for RSEmakes being released sometime in 2014.

I hope there's a new fillup for some job involving pokemon besides trainer and ranger

Sadly the world will be gone. D:

Personally, I think there should be more of Rumble type games. I mean, it's a great game, and the card game is great, even though half of it is based off luck.

Where's it going? :uhoh:
They should do something about not having 2nd and 3rd gen pokes in Rumble.

If MindCrystal is released this year, I don't think so many spin-off games should be released in the same year. I know that it is exactly what happened last year with no less than 6 spin-off games accompanying HGSS, but wouldn't things get out of control at this rate? The bulk of spin-off games should be kept for the two-year period between main series releases, and I think that will be in 2011 and 2012. Hopefully, most of those games will be released for the DS' successor that should be out at some point in 2011, seeing as how it would make far more sense to use them as a test run than to release Generation V right away.

At the very least, there really shouldn't be any more DS Mystery Dungeon games - four are enough. With the GBA version and WiiWare games, there have been as many as eight Mystery Dungeon titles released since late 2005. It makes me wonder why the main series is the one being criticized for its repetition.

I hope that there will be a Pokemon Battle Revolution 2 with more stuff than the last one. (Mainly mini-games and such). Not sure what else, honestly.

Man, my hopes for a Crystal remake are rising just like with the Gold and Silver remakes. I wasn't originally thinking there'd be a HeartGold and SoulSilver

(If such a game comes, I'm not calling it MindCrystal now. We don't have games like Pokemon GoldenSun or Pokemon DawnGold or DuskSilver or whatever, nor do we have Pokemon Opal to go with Diamond and Pearl.)

I'm crossing my fingers that someone will take the reigns and push for a new formula. Preferably a platformer or action game of some sort, since that recent Pikachu park game showed some potential in that department, but (inevitably) fell short. Something that lets you take control of a pokemon and really let you dive into the action is what I'm looking for. I like Mystery Dungeon for it's story, but lets face it; gameplay wise, it's never going to go anywhere. And as for that Rumble thing...fergit aboudit.

From Gamefreak, I'm honestly more eager to see them do something other than pokemon for a change, since they've obviously got the chops to pull it off. When the only other thing they've made since the late 90's is Drill Dozer (brilliant, btw), you know they're playing it way too safe.

Needs more Pokémon Coliseum/XD-like games, and less of the Ranger series.

lulwut? Where is your source for that?

It's my prediction like the rest of my post in this thread is and in the thread, you're listing your predictions.

Plus, it's quite unlikey for Gen V to be released NEXT YEAR and I doubt RSEmakes would be released a year after that. They should at least come by 2014.

MMORPG? *shot*

Okay, maybe not, but another RPG console game would be the best thing to fill next year's gap I think. They've done enough spin-offs and remakes, bring something new to the table please Nintendo!

This is where I'm hoping for at least a new RPG for the Wii, between now and the release of Generation V. I'm gonna be pretty much occupied game-wise with Platinum (still, lol...), SoulSilver, and Endless Ocean 2.... but to be honest, I'm dying for another RPG by Genius Sonority...

Before anybody says "an RPG will never happen ever again, you crazy biatch!:-D", here's a little info concerning the Pokemon console games... Genius Sonority are primarily the ones responsible for the RPG-console Pokemon games, while Game Freak is primarily responsible for the main series games. I'm not saying it's a 100% possibility that a new one's gonna come out by GS, but there's still a small possibility of them coming up with one, if they're not working on one already, between now and Generation V.

I have a quick question.... is there any news on any new Pokemon games, newer than HG/SS and PokePark Wii?

I don't think there would need to be a remake of Crystal and RSE. I'm gonna guess the only reason they remade G/S is because compared to Platinum to it looks like crap. R/S/E somewhat looks average so I don't think they'll remake it.

That's what I was thinking too. R/S/E seem... "too new" to be remade, at least for now anyways. If they wanted to expand the storyline a tiny bit more or improve the graphics up to 4th Generation standards, I can't see a reason for those games to be remade. And as far as graphics go, Generation V could end up having better graphics than the 4th Generation...so they'd end up having to remake every generation, which can be confusing (I'm getting confused myself just talking about this, lol).

RSE will look less new when the next generation comes out. Which should be in 2011 or 2012, probably. I can almost guarantee no such game as MindCrystal will exist, but expect several spinoff games, if at the very least more Mystery Dungeon, this year.

The reason for remakes is not just to upgrade the game, it's to make it more playable. The DSi doesn't use GBA games, making RSE harder to find/play. Even worse, imagine the next console... Let's hope it uses DS games...

It better support DS games....that'd suck bigtime if it doesn't. If not, then I guess I'd better keep my DS Lite.:uhoh:

On a side note, I don't really see them remaking Crystal. Some of the features from it have already been applied to HG and SS, and when they made FireRed and LeafGreen they didn't bother making a remake for Yellow.

If they make another RPG for the Wii, hopefully it'll have direct compatiblility with Platinum and HG/SS. For the Platinum compatibility, I don't really feel like trading my Platinum team over to Diamond or Pearl, JUST to play my Platinum team on Battle Revolution if I had it.

Yeah they are playing it way too safe but when they do something else its gobsmacking like drill dozer as you said. I think its just that now they work way too much for Nintendo making sure the Pokemon games come out in time and such.

We'll get some iterations of all the successful side games with a new main series game in a year or two. I really think nothing is going to be new unless Nintendo releases a new system or the games start tanking in sales.
