NHK Symphony Orchestra brass quintet Pokémon Mini Concert
Five members of Japan’s NHK Symphony Orchestra will be putting on a special concert this coming November, where they will perform a selection of music from Pokémon games, along with some classical pieces. The live performance has a limited number of free tickets available, but it will also be streamed and available to view later via the Pokémon Kids TV Japan YouTube channel.

The brass quintet scheduled for this performance includes Kazuaki Kikumoto and Kotaro Fujii on trumpet, Mikio Nitta on trombone, Hiroshi Kikawa on French horn, and Yukihiro Ikeda on tuba. These musicians are members of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, a broadcast orchestra which has been collaborating with The Pokémon Company for special performances like these since 2022. The performance is co-hosted by The Pokémon Company and Mie Prefecture.

Mie Prefecture’s Ambassador Pokémon, Oshawott, and Pikachu will appear on stage with the musicians at the performance. Previous special Pokémon concerts have included pieces like the title theme from Pokémon Red and Blue, the Naranja/Uva Academy theme from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers.

Two performances will be held at Mie Prefectural Suzuka Youth Center in Suzuka, Mie Prefecture on November 24th. Each performance will seat about 300 people, and tickets will be distributed for free via a lottery system. Applications for the lottery are open now until November 2nd, and winners will be announced November 7th. Attendees at the event can use their smartphones to receive a commemorative medal in Pokémon Home.

For those who can’t attend the event in person, the second performance will be streamed on the Pokémon Kids TV Japan YouTube channel, and it will continue to be hosted there to view later. Previous performances of this kind are also available to watch on the channel.
