hey guys i have a suggestion for bulbapedia and i'm not sure where to put it, but here goes. "Nidoran" apparently stems from a japanese word (i read the bulba article) but a long time ago I had noticed something that could also be an english play on words. Jellyfish belong to the phylum, "Cnidaria". I believe it stems from the greek root "cnido" or "cnidos", which means (checking wikipedia...) "stinging needle" specifically. very interesting, is it not? i also assume that the C is silent. and don't forget that many jellyfish are poisonous, too!

Well cnido or cnidos (Silent "c" if im correct) will be where the word Needle (sp) came from. I think Nidorans name is based off of just needle but im unsure.

Jellyfish, eh? Y'know, I'll never be able to pronounce that phylum name. X.x But, that is a good concept on Nidoran's name. Now...to uncover the 'ran' part of it. ;D
