As you should have heard by now, a Nintendo Direct is coming tomorrow, in roughly 12 hours from now. It's going to be a 50 minute long Direct, followed by a 95 minute Treehouse presentation.

For reference, the last time we had a general Nintendo Direct this long was the September 2025 Direct, which was 60 minutes and which had a strong Mario 40th anniversary focus. As a point of comparison, that Direct gave us:
  • Mario Galaxy Movie
  • Mario Galaxy 1+2 on Switch
  • Mario Tennis Fever
  • Mario Wonder Switch 2 Edition
  • Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
  • Storm Lancers
  • Dinkum
  • Popucom
  • Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
  • Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
  • Lynked: Banner of the Spark
  • Hades 2
  • Kirby Air Riders + amiibo (+ announcement of Kirby Air Riders Direct)
  • Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
  • Dragon Quest VII Reimagined
  • Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics + Accessories
  • FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE
  • One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
  • Overcooked 2! Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
  • Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
  • Human Fall Flat - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
  • PowerWash Simulator 2
  • Suika Game Planet
  • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
  • Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC
  • Pokémon Pokopia
  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolutions
  • Danganronpa 2X2
  • DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS
  • Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
  • (A whole bunch of stuff in a Partner Sizzle Reel)
  • Resident Evil Requiem + RE7 & RE8 Gold Editions
  • Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
This year is going to be the 40th anniversary of Legend of Zelda, and with the upcoming Zelda movie it seems reasonable that we might see a fairly similar structure with this year's. Starting with the Zelda movie, followed by a few Zelda games before going into the rest of the Direct. We can safely assume at least one of those titles will be the long rumoured OoT remake, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the Gamecube Zelda games coming to Switch Online, but apart from that... It would be interesting if we got some kind of Zelda spin-off title, but who knows what that might be?

So, what sort of games are you hoping to see announced in this Direct? And, for those of you coming in after it's already aired, what did you think about the announcements?

I hope there is Mario Kart DLC but not sure on it.

Gen 10's trailer seems unlikely unless that is getting released earlier then we think.

More about Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave pleeeeeeaaaaaaase...like I'll genuinely be surprised if we don't hear more about it but I'm so indescribably excited for this game and I need to know more. Also with how I've been losing my mind over FF7 Revelation and Persona 4 Revival/Persona 6 these past few days, news about Fortune's Weave will make me even more unwell in the best way possible and I'm so ready for it lol

the switch 2 recently turned one, to my knowledge. i do wonder if there's going to be any special edition announcements, or if they're just going to make a brief mention about it.
The European region Directs may mention the new version that market is getting with a user-replaceable battery, as mandated by the EU. Not clear if that version will became the new worldwide standard though.

I don't expect Smash but it would be surprising if it does happen. I feels too soon after Air Riders.

Same

I really hope that we learn more about Fortune's Weave

It's not too long before the Nintendo Direct airs, so here's a short list of some things that would excite me most.

-New Super Mario Bros
-New The Legend of Zelda (It's the series's 40th anniversary, so why not?)
-New Kirby
-New Animal Crossing
-New Super Smash Bros
-Info on Splatoon Raiders
-Info on Pokemon Winds and Waves
-More Nintendo Switch Online games/apps
-Maybe something more left field and unexpected

I'm personally skeptical about new Pokemon Winds and Waves information too. And even if they do, I imagine it would only be a small amount instead of a full-blown overview. But I'm excited for this Direct and I hope whatever is revealed today is exciting!

The leak that the OOT remake was a thing had long already reached me, but it's nice to see it confirmed. I loved OOT back in the day. However, I am disappointed that we only got a teaser. If this is supposed to come out this year, shouldn't there have been a little bit more to show? I mean this isn't January, it's June!

I just hope it is a real reimagining and not what OOT3D was. OOT3D was so conservative in its approach that I really thought it was a remaster with new textures and some added models here and there until someone showed me a side by side and proved that the environments were different. That game, from its appearance, to its effects, to its sound effects & music, to its very physics was uncanny to the original OOT.

I'm not expecting it to be like FFVII remake, but it really needs to be something substantial. It can't just be a paint job or I will be very disappointed.

Otherwise, confirmation of Kingdom Hearts IV coming to Switch 2 day one officially means to me that I have no reason to buy a PS5. That is kinda saddening to me to lose all will to get one when I had a PS2, 3 and 4 and loved them. Alas, KH and FF are what I come to Sony for exclusives-wise whereas the rest that I used to play on Sony consoles I now play on PC. And now those exclusives are no longer exclusive. Sorry, Sony. (alas, why am I apologizing to a corporation? :bulbaFacepalm:)

Otherwise, Pokopia DLC is neat, but I haven't played the game in quite some time. They could get me if they showed some of my favorite Pokemon (of which Pokopia is soooo lacking in my favorite Pokemon, it's so sad for me) but the trailer didn't give me confidence for at least this first DLC to do that, so... I've taken more of a liking to the Popplio line recently, but it's not enough alone for me. lol.

Anyway... Rest of the Direct didn't have much for me, unless I'm forgetting something, which it's possible I am. lol.

Pokopia is fun but I haven't much since Tomodachi Life released.

I did see the trailer for the Ocarina of Time remake. At minimum, I think we can expect the original story of the original game, but with stuff added. Like, as an example, I played both the original Dragon Quest 1 and the Dragon Quest 1 HD-2D remake. I think this will be what Dragon Quest 1 HD-Remake was for the original Dragon Quest 1: The original story of Ocarina of Time, with better graphics and more stuff added.

I thought it was a fun Direct, though not much that personally appealed to me since I'm not that into Zelda or any of those. That said the Xenoblade Switch 2 editions new content sounds amazing and from the sounds of it people are already having fun with it in DE. Xeno 3 is my personal favorite so that's the one I'm looking forward to most, new hero and voiced scenes and all. But this could give me a good excuse to replay the whole trilogy on Switch 2 editions. And the new Xenoblade game looks beautiful. Any game where you can ride monsters around the world instead of just slaying them automatically gets my attention too even if it wasn't Xenoblade.

I still need to get Pokopia but I'm so worried I'll be overwhelmed by it. Nice to see it getting so much content though.
