As all of you know, the Nintendo DS supports only WEP encryption. I currently use WPA. I absolutely refuse to degrade my network security so I am trying to figure out an alternative for free.
What I did learn is that Windows 7 (the OS I run) is able to create a virtual Wi-Fi by typing these codes into the Command Prompt. It can actually share my internet connection with other users.
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Hotspot key=password
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
The network name is Hotspot with a pass of "password" (not mine, but example)
At the moment, the network it creates is WPA, but I am looking on a way to make it WEP for my NDS.:banghead:
Any ideas?
