Source: Star Fox 64 3D release date changed to the 9th of September, no reason given

Seems like someone at Nintendo of America finally replaced their burned out 'idea lightbulb'. Starfox 64 3D was originally due to be released in the United States on 11th September...if anyone fails to see what's so wrong about this date: A game that predominantly features an aircraft, released on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Now, Nintendo of America have announced that the game will be made available on 9th September, the same day as Europe.

Funny, I was gonna say the same thing about the change. Though I can understand how it would've upset people, to me a release date just doesn't seem like a big deal. I mean, it's not like there's anything in-game (at least in the original) that comes across as a representation of 9/11.

It has planes and explosions. Add that to the heaps of very oversensitive people in the US who must think of the children (who might become terrorists) and you have your reason.

Wow, looks like Nintendo made a wise choice of changing the date, but doesn't remembering 9/11 goes against "let go of the past, and think for the future?"

In NYC, people are very sensitive. Remember last year with the Park51 stuff? Anything to do with 9/11, even totally unrelated, will result in major protests.

THAT'S the only good reason they can come up with? Just planes and explosions? I mean, if there was something in-game that required an Arwing crashing into some random building in the name of Corneria, then I would understand, but just because it has planes and explosions, that makes it a Pro-Terror game designed to turn our kids into Terrorists? As if we weren't already turned into Satanists back when Pokemon first came out...
