No "contest" option?

I'm playing Sapphire, trying to evolve my Feebas. I first have to get the Pamtre berry from the Berry Master's Wife. I tried to enter "Challenge Contest" like you're supposed to when she asks you for a phrase, but "contest" isn't in the list of words. I have the contest pass, but I haven't won any contests. What do I do?! Sorry if this has been posted before somewhere!

Beat the League. It's the only way those words will appear.

After my seventh run through Ruby (long gap after playing Emerald) I tried to get the better berries early myself. Nothing doing. Beat the game then spent each day plugging in passwords since all key words were now available. I think it was the games way of saying: "Pure side quest" beat the standard way of playing first then enjoy battling without actually doing so.

EDIT: In the meantime, (unless you have an extra GBA of some form and game) you should try to farm Bluk Berries or other beauty boosting berries. Tamato and Cornn berries (the latter preferred as Dry is the dominate) are pretty good in that regard and there's a chance Berry Master would give you one each day you ask for a hand-out.

i evolved my feebas with kelpsy berries i think. the onesthat look like roots. they work, and pamtre berries are a pain in the ass, cause unless you water em like 15 times each, they only grow one berry. so make sure your feebas is modest or mild, or something else that likes blue pkblocks, and just use those. i didn't even have to give him all the pokeblocks he could eat; with about 6 i was done.
