Ok here the problem. Gen 1 we had hint of gen 2 with togepi and movie 1 In gen 2 we Had a hint of gen 3 in ep205 Season 4 with Kecleon and movie 5. gen 3 we had the appearance of munchlax in movie 7 and May's Munchlax in AG117 season 8 . We're in dp132 and no sign of new pokemon, unlike previously, of gen 5 or any sign in movie 11. as well as the appearance of the elite 4 that the winner of the league battle them which is not in previous seasons. so perhaps DP could be the last?

So there had better be new ones soon in anime or in movie 12 and/or 13 if they do battle frontier again but it's looking doubtful at the moment but that's just my opinion.

LOL, even though it hasn't been confirmed, there will likely..very likely indeed be a Gen 5 if you think logically. As for there are no signs of Gen 5, I guess this gives us an idea of how far away Gen 5 really is.

Why do people keep believing this? It's obvious Pokemon is still going strong. And most of Nintendos top properties are over 10 years old and are also doing well. Pokemon is not going anywhere for a long, long time. So stop believing this stuff. -_-

yup, it doesn't matter if they repeat concepts or run out of new ideas or whatever reasons people give for there being no Gen5....the bottom line: if the franchise continues to sell games and make money = Pokemon will continue.

i don't but the new ideas in this generation make me think it's winding down because ash will finally face the elite 4 for the 1st time

If he does that is. And I do not doubt that. And anyway they aren't going to kill it off when sales keep on increasing. It took over 15 years but finally they are at a point where the games sell over 1M in a week. If that doesn't say somethign I dunno what does.

It's better that they don't rush with the next generation, because if they do that the Pokémon would look rushed too. And Gen IV is doing fine at the moment. I believe Sugimori and his friends might be designing new Pokémon already (or in the near future) since they wrote about the zoo trip in that Game Freak blog or whatever it was. Plus, wouldn't the next gen be on a new console?

The DSi is the new handheld like how gbc was. It just isn't noticed. Yet.

Even if he did, I suspect he wouldn't beat them and would probably lose to the last one.

The hardware changes to the DSi are relatively minuscule at best.

4x the ram and 2x the cpu is a minuscule change?

So what if Ash faces one of the E4's? I don't see how him winning/loosing can affect the fact that the show could most likely continue with him still journeying. Who says Gen 5 won't bring something new to the table that can be used as an excuse to still follow his journey? And knowing the writers, they'd probly still follow his journey regardless of their being no valid excuse to.

Just because you've become champion of whatever region doesn't mean they're aren't new things to learn about the Pokemon world..

Doubtful. Not only are there several unused pokemon ideas from previous generations (Bulbagarden shows some they never used), but it simply does not take three or so years to make a hundred monsters. Most of this waiting is the game guys putting the actual game together. They also have all the side projects nowadays too. Ranger, Dungeon, remakes...honestly it's kind of annoying when you start realizing the truth of it all. :p

That said though, I must admit it is rather irritating we haven't seen SOME sign of a new pokemon yet. Maybe I'm wrong, but compared to past generations, haven't we usually seen something from the next generation by now? I'm not saying G5 won't happen, I know it will, but sheesh nintendo...give us something.

Patience my friend. It's only been 132 episodes and 2 movies. Gen I went through hell, 2 movies, half of the Indigo series with that pesky thing (Togepi), just to let the fans know that ther's going to be a 2nd Generation.

This whole leakage of Gen V takes time, the writers know when to bring up Gen V monsters...

Gen 5 is obviously coming. Pokemon is making too much money to stop now. And there was an interview posted on Pokebeach a while back that all but confirms it.

Leaving this open would just lead to a lot of pointless speculation.
