No more Pokéballs?

Well, except for Kiawe's Turtonator and I also assume Litten won't stay out of its Poke Ball, if it does get caught, which I'm sure it will.

The pokemon would be back in their pokeballs eventually. Just a matter of time.

Rowlet didn't show up at all in today's episode, it seems like Poké Balls aren't exactly a symbol of the past after all. We're not at the level of Pikachu with the Alolan mons.

Idk but didn't team skull have Thiers in PokeBalls?

Maybe Popplio and Bounsweet will not evolve. I don't think Lana,Sophocles and Mallow will get many Pokemon so having them outside the Pokeballs is fine

Well, the group is not travelling and the school environment is welcoming of Pokemon. Thus I can see why especially small partners are not being restricted to their Pokeballs. Furthermore, how else can Mimikyu proceed to carry out its anti-Pika mission if it doesn't get screentime?

I hadn't really thought about it but as others have said it could be a good allowing us to see more of their personality like I felt they did quite well in dp showing them interacting together rather than being constantly in their pokeball

One of the benefits of simplifying the character designs is they can have more of them on screen at a time.

So, we're probably more than halfway into SM and it's still seems the case. These kids even carry their pokemon now instead of using pokeballs.

Yup, the Pokémon have been only recalled once in the entire series.

The only Pokémon that regularly stay inside of their balls are Turtonator, Marowak, Charjabug, Mimikyu, and Mareanie, but even then most of the ones I listed commonly stay out of their balls more often than not.

While I feel having too many Pokémon out could become clustering, it's better then hardly getting screentime like certain Pokemon I can list (Foretress, Talonflame, Luxray, any of TR's BW mons, etc.) and the smallest moments revolving around them further allow for their characteristics to slowly be fleshed out without constantly having to rely on wasting episodes of focus on them.
