I'm surprised how disappointed I am by this. It means that the companion pokemon wasn't a new feature they were proof-of-concept-ing, but rather just another gimmick to make you buy the remakes.

How do other people feel about this?

And, honestly, how many of you are holding out hope that it'll still be there?

Wait till more pokemon are revealed before making any conclusions, they are most likely beta screens anyway.

I doubt you've got confirmation, but if it is true, then I'm not all that bothered.

It's a cute feature, but not at all necessary.

Youll probally have the option to turn it off. They should have made that in HGSS

Don't make a freaking thread over this.

It really does tick me off when I see "Well that sucks, Pokemon can't follow you in Black/White. Whine/whine/complain/bitch/moan."

Because, oh my god, it's in bold print in the corocoro spoilers: "POKEMON CANNOT FOLLOW YOU."

Oh wait, I think I missed that part?

I'm completely fine by this...that little addition made HG/SS kind of "special" in their own way apart from Pokemon Yellow.

It's probably just that those are beta screens, i'm expecting they'll include it with an option to turn it off

not that i'd ever turn it off
*talks to pokemon following him*
See, mozzy loves being out of her ball

Oh no, just because they aren't in the first scans means they are out all together.

They could have pun an off button in there.

they haven't shown any new pokemon besides the zorros, so off course they wont show pokemon following the characters-they can't without giving anything away~!

GameFreak - one step forward, two steps back!

Gen II - Day and Night, Apricon Balls
Gen III - Day and night gone, Apricorn Balls Gone!

They could have had some old Pokemon following the main character if this were the case, like say Pikachu. Or even just had the main character followed by Zorros.

They may have the option for you to turn it on and off.

If Pokemon don't follow you, it's no biggy..... Although I'll only be a tinsy-winsy disappointed, I'm not gonna wig-out.

Maybe they didn't want it s it looked different from HGSS?
GF wants these games to look new, interesting and exciting. If they appear to be just like the games they just released, but with the camera angle slightly lowered, then thats not so flash.
It's probably possible to have Pokemon following you if you so choose it, as others have said, but I'm not too worried myself

I'd wait a while before jumping to this conclusion. As mentioned above, these are probably beta screens, so anything is subject to change. I remember how the glowing panels on the Mystri Stage (Shinjoh Ruins in Johto remakes) were originally blue, then changed to match the colors of the dragon trio. At least from what I saw.

I do find it humorous how when the feature was first announced, everyone was against it, and now everyone loves it. I will admit, it was odd seeing the characters there without a Pokémon following them.

I do hope they add it back in.

Well, if Pokemon don't follow you in these games, then I'm sure they'll add the feature back, right?

@ Ryu Shoji, I didn't know that people hated that feature when it was first announced, I liked it when I first heard about, I mean, who wouldn't like your favorite to follow you around o.0

Oh there was a lot of dislike. There's no off button, it's a stupid gimmick, they don't do anything, is it restricted to your starter? (that vanished quickly). Then the English version came out. And everyone fell in love with how Daaawwwwwwww! it was.
