After recent events, Noah "The Spoony One" Antwiler and Channel Awesome have decided to part ways. Noah has made it clear that he wishes to pursue a course that is different from our own. We feel that with these different aims, it is better for Noah to be free to pursue his own goals unhindered by us.

Noah has been an immense talent on the site and we thank him for his years of hard service, both in numerous episodes of The Spoony Experiment and in the Channel Awesome Anniversary films.

We sincerely wish him the best in all future endeavors, and hope he continues to put out great quality work.

After a full mental breakdown on Twitter, The Spoony One and Channel Awesome have parted ways.

I find this very unfortunate, but Noah probably had this coming. Can the Spoony Experiment survive on its own?

How exactly did this happen?

And I'm curious as to this "mental breakdown on Twitter".

And I'm curious as to this "mental breakdown on Twitter".

From what I heard, he made a rape joke on Twitter to JessOtaku about a month ago, I believe the tweet was that "if things did not work out between Nash (her BF) and herself, he'd chain her to a pipe in his basement and love her 'his way'." Yeah, it was in poor taste, and honestly a bit creepy. He apologized, took a suspension, and that was it.

A month later, someone completely unrelated to the exchange drags it up again, Spoony lashed out, and the subject spirals out of control. Yes, he is overreacting, and he really needs to take a chill pill, but honestly? I would be mad about it too. As a result, he was suspended from TGWTG for 4 weeks, probably permanently.

All I can hope for is that he keeps making videos, and maybe if I'm lucky, purges himself of the crappy trends he built up during his tenure at TGWTG and comes back stronger. I know that he doesn't need them anymore, financially speaking. The guy makes about 60k a year; anybody can run a website with that. So long as he gets back some emotional stability he'll be fine.

I'm not sure if we should mourn for his departure or cheer since he's spewed out some controversial statements hear and there such as his dislike for Nintendo's E3 2012 conference.

(Fixed a spelling error)

He has said many controversial things over the past few years, and he has been somewhat of a jerk to the other TGWTG members from time to time, this is where the line was most likely drawn.

Now, I don't know exactly what happened, but I think "fired" might be the wrong word. The part was probably a mutual decision, not one made entirely by the higher-ups at Channel Awesome.

That aside, I didn't really get into his actual videos that much, but it's sad to see him go. I always loved a good cameo from Dr. Insano. Hopefully he can get this drama sorted out and there aren't any hard feeling between him and TGWTG.
