Prologue

In the world of destruction, there were four sorcerers. Each sorcerer was guarding a treasure and different territory. But these sorcerers never saw each other or know about one another. They only had the assignment of guarding the treasure and their land until it was time, when other guardians took their places. Even spirits of the dead had guarded these lands…

The world of destruction back centuries ago was divided to five big territories. All of the territories had similar names meaning chaos and power. But one land surrounded by water in the dark seas, had a peaceful name. It had the meaning of hope, Nadezda. This name was a hope for other creatures and humans to thrive in their small paradise stranded with water.

The other lands had bitter names…

Acacia-The land of Spirits
Lamya- The land of Danger
Tanek-The land of Death
Tacitus-The land of Illness

But the lands with bitter names had four gatherings before a spell was cast upon the destruction world. Then they met and had a fight that would change the world and destroy Nadezda. But Nadezda didn’t guard any treasures or territory. It was just a place where you hoped for survival. But the lucky part of this land was a hero was born, the ‘Omen Baby’.

Chapter One
Part One
The Disturbance

Adren woke that early morning, eager to work. He was eager enough to skip breakfast and run out with his pajamas. It was his day, his day to test his skills on survival. All the kids in Nadezda were to test their skills on a test for survival. It was an obstacle to go far into the jungle of Nadezda and stay there by hunting down your own food. And Adren was up for it.

“Survival Test, here I come! I’m like the coolest kid in Nedazda! There is no way I can die here!” Adren roared when he jumped barefoot out of the abandoned old shack.

The old shack was for repairing boats, but because the lands population decreased. There were only fifty-four humans roaming in the small town of Nadezda. And one of those humans was Adren, who was living alone in the small abandoned shack. But he wasn’t alone; he fed the family of mice in his small shelter with beard and berries he would find. He would play with his ripped old socks and pretend they were puppets when he was trapped inside when it rained. But, he never felt the love of a parent supporting him. And it made him jealous of other kids on the big island.

Surprisingly, Adren was an orphan. He was very clueless, an idiot, and he never paid attention to other things except on food. On the other hand, he was short for his age, and he was very annoying after awhile if he started bragging about himself. He was very selfish and he was a thief.

Adren stole a lot of things such as, fruit, bread, lanterns, trash, and money. But he didn’t steal because he was poor, but that he never had a proper way of living a normal life by trade. “Hey, it’s the bread lady!” Adren would point out when he caught a glance of the lady. But unusually he did not spot her that morning.

The sun slowly rose higher while Adren took his time and walked down the muddy dirt road. His bare feet felt gushy in the thick mud as he crossed fields of rice and fruit. But harvest was hard in a summer morning in Nadezda; the fields were too close to the ocean. And the sea-level grew higher everyday.

“I will survive through that stupid test, I’ll prove to everyone I can live! I'm going to show everyone, I'm better like them.”

But Adren made it this far on his own alone. He was already surviving in a funny way. He was living in a way he enjoyed but while thinking about it…he felt something twist his liking of things. He felt different.

“What the heck?” Adren stared down at his fingers. They were tingling.

Other people treated him differently. He had something that everyone hated around him, in him. His selfish behavior and temper that controled him. he simply didn't care for others, because he never felt love before. His heart was just filled with his own courage and selfishness.

He was a fool to others, he was viewed to be a spoiled child. And Adren was tired of others judging him. What bothered others was his past, his exsistance, and his personality. So others thought that he, Adren, was the 'Omen Kid'. The child born with an unfortunate life. Living alone now, was miserable.

Adren was about eleven, he had dirty wavy blonde hair and he had a small scar of a cross above his left eye. This scar gave him a lot of mystery to his past and he wondered about it often when, it began to glow bright red. But as normal skin was a bit tanned and he was wearing a pair of worn-out pajamas which the color used to be dark blue, turned into a pale bluish color. It matched Adren perfectly, even though it was old.

But most importantly about Adren, it was his eyes. They were different than other humans. They were not a usual color for eyes, they were violet blue. And they were like jewels; they were very colorful and big. And that was the only part on his face that made others, admire him. But there were other villagers who thought, “He is the ‘Omen Child’! Make his stay away!” And they soon did so and ignored Adren and his admirable looks.

“Hey, kid!” A sixteen year old girl bellowed. Adren heard her and turned around.
It was a blonde haired girl in a rag dress clasping a bouquet of wild flowers in her hands.

Who would be up so early?

“What the heck do you want?” Adren answered back and stared blankly at the girl.

“I heard you’re the ‘Omen Kid’” She smirked.

So you think you’re so smart, eh?

Adren thought and sighed. He glanced at her and did a raspberry and laughed, “You believe in those fantasies? Come on, your joking!”

“So do you have some kind of power in your body?” She asked. She seriously believed that Adren was the ‘Kid’.

‘Why should I know? I don’t even know if I’m the ‘Omen Kid’! Stupid Omen! Damn parents!’ Adren thought and wondered. He snorted at her and walked away pretending she never asked him anything.

“Hey, Kid.” She called.

“What?”

“Your some kid, you seem different from other kids. You’ve got a name?” She questioned.

“Adr…”

He stopped and then in a blink of an eye, the girl vanished.

What the hell is going on? That girl just vanished! Adren thought and looked around trying to find any clues to her disappearance. And there, it was her bouquet of wild flowers lying on the muddy road behind him. But the wild flowers seemed different; they were fading to a brown dried-up color, making them seem lifeless. Adren picked the bouquet up and felt the dried leaves tingling in his fingers.

Was it a ghost, a spirit? What was that?

It mystified him. And then, he turned and began to head toward the center of town in, Nedazda.

I hope I satified your taste. Tomorrow, I shall continue.

You have an interesting premise for a story, but you do need to work a little on your grammar and sentence structure. Also, how easy will it be for Adren to win this contest in the forest if you describe him as being 'clueless, an idiot'? Or is that how the other villagers view him? How easy can it be to steal various items when you're clueless?

I think your story has potential, but I'd like to see a little more depth to your characterizations.

Chapter One Part Two

Chapter One
Part Two

Adren walked through the corn fields after he encountered the mystifying young lady who simply disappeared. It made him more curious about himself after she had asked so many questions. But now it didn’t matter, his survival test was today. It would make him more tense thinking about it, so he cleared his mind and shut his eyes.

“I heard you’re the ‘Omen Kid’” She smirked.

‘Damn it!’ Adren scowled when he remembered her lines playing over and over. It kept repeating and boggling his mind. The words were playing tricks on his head making it seem it was a big lie.

“No, I’m not the Omen Kid.”

He stopped in the road, opened his eyes and looked up at the pale yellowish morning sky. Then sun seemed high in the sky now, time was passing quickly than he expected. But passing over to the other side of the island took along time, even though Nedazda was the smallest territory in the destruction world.

There was nothing interesting in the island. Nedazda was boring place, it didn’t protect any treasures. It didn’t have mystical creatures and castles. It was just a plain island far away from evil and darkness, stranded in the middle of the blue seas. And it made other adventurers on Nedazda curious to what was going on the other territories. And whenever some curious adventurers set sail for the seas they never comeback to Nedazda, ever.

On Nedazda sometimes it was hard to thieve. Sometimes food would be scarce and hunting would be difficult. And during this season, the survival test was preformed. It was prove if you could thrive on your own in a dimension on any part of the island. But obstacles and tests were also to trick and frustrate the survivor who took the test. It was like a big maze with no finish line, you had to figure out way to get out of it on your own.

“This is gonna be so exciting! I’m so- gonna survive this test!” Adren shouted. He found confidence inside him.

He wanted to prove the villagers in Nedazda that he was just like any other kid, not a trouble maker or the ‘Omen Kid’. Why was everyone suspecting he was that child? He was annoying and irritating sometimes but…Why?

He soon decided to keep his mind on the tournament. He imagined a crowd cheering for him, children admiring him, and other contestants in the tournament treating him kindly. What a stupid thought it was though, that would never happen.

The Survival test was just to prove how well you’ve grown. In Nedazda it was like a festival of Thriving. It was fun to watch the participants start the small journey. Adren grew more anxious thinking about it.

Then from out of no where a long arm coiled Adren’s neck and pulled him back. Adren looked up and saw the pale face.

“What the heck? Who the hell are you?” He croaked and tried to pull the arm off his neck.

He didn’t reply. His cold dark eyes just glared at Adren. Then he spoke, “Do you actually think the test is that easy for a loser like you?” Then he got Adren by his neck and threw him down on the muddy pathway.

Adren fell on his back into the thick mud where is face was buried. Now, his face and his pajamas were covered in mud. How stupid at unfortunate Adren was, but then a spark of anger rose out of him when he finally got on his feet. He glared with hatred and began to think that his foe wanted an opponent to fight with.

“What the hell was that for?” Adren said spitting out the dirt from his mouth. He whipped the mud off his face with his sleeve and stared at the tall boy in a kimono. Then a burst of laughter just poured out of him. He must be a participant for the test, Adren thought.

“Ha, you’re wearing girly clothes!” Adren pointed. Unusual clothes for the test, it would be hard to move around in a kimono, Adren wondered.

“And you seem like you have no manners or any respect for other people. Do you even know who I am?”

“Hell no. But I don’t care because; I’ll blow your socks off when I pass that survival test! You’re a girly-girl!” Adren snorted and laughed.

“Look at yourself, Loser! Can’t you see your miserable yourself?” He muttered.

“Who are you?”

“Kazuhi Imura, I came from Lamya, the land of Danger. Who are you, some farmer’s boy?” He inquired. Then he flicked off a long black bang that was covering his left eye and he swayed his long ponytail behind him. But he didn’t seem girl at all, his kimono was a blue navy color patterned with sliver dragons and butterflies. And Adren then grew rather jealous after taking another look at Kazuhi.

“What’s with the girly look? And anyway, Lamya is too far away from here! You’re just a fat big *** liar! Your definitely gonna lose when I win the test!” Adren said as his face grew red. Then he noticed Kazuhi wasn’t lying. His face was solemn. He was very serious and unique in someway that Adren didn’t understand.

“I came from Lamya to search for the ‘Omen Kid’. Have you heard about that kid?” He asked and approached slowly towards Adren.

“What the hell? What do you mean you searching for...that kid?” Adren grew worried.

They’re searching for me!

Adren expression soon changed and Kazuhi grew suspicious. ‘What a stupid idiot. He probably never heard of the ‘kid’.’ Kazuhi wondered and then glanced at Adren’s face.
‘His eyes, they’re violet!’ Kazuhi thought and made an amused face.

“Stop looking at me! I don’t know anything!” Adren shouted.

“You’re the ‘kid’.” Kazuhi answered without noticing. He is too suspicious, thought Kazuhi.

‘No, the Omen Kid has to be clever than this idiot.’ Kazuhi thought and scratched his chin. He inspected and took a closer look.

“Hey, kid!” Kazuhi called.

“I don’t know anything!” Adren said in a frightened way and ran back up the road to his shack. Now, he would miss his chance for the survival test. Others are searching for him….But why?

‘I’m a scaredy cat! I know!’ Adren thought as he was running down the muddy road as fast as he could. His feet grew tired as he pushed himself to run away.

His Kazuhi following me? Was I fast enough to run away?

Then he fell when he wondered about these questions. On the dirty road again, he fell on his face. His ankle was throbbing and bothering him. He just grew tenser wondering about it. Adren groaned when he felt the pain tingle through his right ankle. It was new to him, he never sprained it before.

“OWCH!”

He howled when he tried to stand up. But soon he slipped onto the mud. He tried again. But he couldn’t.

Yes, I added a new character. Kazuhi Imura but, this time the chapter is a bit short. Still, I might have to review this. Thank you for reading. I will continue tomorrow. I would also like comments.

Chapter Two
The Heal
Part One

“You’re pathetic.” He rumbled.

Adren looked up; it was Kazuhi smirking down at him with his dark creepy eyes. He looked like he tried to scare Adren. But Adren didn’t respond, mouth opened wide, he made a funny expression.

“Loser,” Kazuhi scorned again.

“Stop pissing me off!” Adren roared back. “You got my clothes dirty, you big ***!”

‘What a vicious creature he is,’ Kazuhi thought. He decided to act more reckless. Then he grabbed a small blade from his waist belt on his kimono. It was better to keep the boy alert, thought Kazuhi. But, Adren just glared with hatred back at Kazuhi.

“You know something, kid. You know about the special kid. But, I just want to know…where he is.” He smiled his time but in a kind way.

“Shut up, Girly-Girl.”

“Tell me.”

He shoved the blade closer to Adren’s neck. Kazuhi watched Adren becoming more impatient. ‘He knows…’ Kazuhi thought. Adren then made a hideous face and noticed him choking. It was harder to breath now; the blade was a few inches away to chop his head off.

“Why does everyone think I’m the Omen Kid?” Adren asked.

Kazuhi felt a bit irritated after hearing that. Why would this special kid roam around in this survival island, it’s dangerous, Kazuhi wondered. He was probably abandoned here; Kazuhi speculated again and took a look at the ocean far in the sea.

‘Poor kid, he has a tough life ahead of him if he realizes that he is the Omen Kid after all.’ Kazuhi looked down with big amused eyes. Adren looked down at the ground holding his ankle. He then lost grip of the knife and threw it back in its case near his waist.

“Hey kid, what’s your name?” He asked.

“Adren, I twisted my ankle.”

“Get up.”

‘He is so harsh!’ Adren thought. Then he felt like a warm light flickered inside him like something big was going to happen.

“I’m no Omen Kid!” Adren said when he got some assistance to get up. Kazuhi heard him but didn’t respond, he had to be the kid, Kazuhi thought. He is so suspicious and stupid, Kazuhi though again and again till he decided to put the thoughts away and try to himself settled in the land to finish his quest on finding the special kid. But he had found a clue or the kid too easily. What was in store for him?

~*~*~*~*~

“You’re a big ninny.” Adren remarked.

“Bite your tongue, idiot.” Kazuhi snapped. He was concentrating.

They were both surrounding the small hearth sitting in sofas in the back of pharmacy. Watching Kazuhi prepare for the small fire, Adren tried to have a bit of fun. How could he have fun at a time like this? He twisted his ankle! Kazuhi was wasting his time now, for this pathetic little prick. Why was he doing it, was he crazy? Could this idiot be my key to success, he thought.

“I’m not a Barbie-Girl like you! I’m way stronger and better than you! Stop saying that I have to be quiet! I can talk!” Adren shouted.

Kazuhi lit the match and the small flame started to grow. He wasn’t up for that silly behavior, he hated Adren’s personality, and it made him frustrated. I wish I could just shut him up; he thought and glanced at Adren. “Hey, if you’re so strong, then there is no meaning for me to be here! I’m just looking for the Omen Kid!”

Then there was silence.

“What is so important about him?”

“You’re a pathetic stupid loser! That kid is a legend!”

“I thought he destroyed Nadezda! He had some power… thing!”

“No! That kid’s parents were devils! They were sorcerers, evil ones! I just suspect you have something to do with that kid, that’s all.”

Adren’s eyes grew wider. Then he grew frightened to what was happening to him. Was he tracking me down because my parents…were evil? Adren’s mind was full of wonders until a doctor pulled the door flap open and entered.

“How’s your ankle?” he replied.

The room went silent, again. But this time, Adren gasped when he saw the doctor. Was he nervous because it was his first time at a medical center? What was happening? Then the tingling feeling came up again and began crawling Adren’s throat.

“Not good, do you have a cast or something?”

“A charm would work. A spell can work. I’ll cast one,” He replied pulling out a long sliver pole from the pocket of his black pants. “Don’t worry this wouldn’t hurt you at all! I guarantee!”

Adren pulled out his ankle and felt the pain throbbing him. He made a face. “No worries! It will just tickle you!” The doctor said.

“Is the fire ready yet? Did those matches work?” the doctor than took a look at Kazuhi who returned the rest of the unused matches.

“What the hell are you doing to me?”

“Make no bones about it! Your fine, I had patients like you also.” The doctor comforted him. He placed his fingers on the ankle, and then murmured a word. Then the throbbing grew worse. Adren’s ankle was purple now.

“OW~! WHAT THE **** ARE YOU-TRYIN TO DOOOOOOO?!!!!” Adren shouted and felt like crying, the pain was worse than before. It was growing.

“Adren! Stop swearing for once!” Kazuhi shouted. He got up and then walked over to him. He stood with cold eyes again trying to act cool. BUTT-HEAD, Adren wanted to say. The doctor glanced at Adren and then with his left hand he shoved his arm and the pole into the fire.

“Are you crazy? You’re going to burn your arm off!”

“Adren, shut up! This is a spell remember?”

“So what, it’s a joke?”

The doctor didn’t say anything. He was more confident than Adren thought. ‘It’s magic? But it’s so weird!’ Adren thought for a moment.

The heat was growing warmer. Tiny flames flickered and danced about coiling the doctor’s arm. He didn’t seem to mind at all. He was laughing and smiling like it was ok. He wasn’t burning at all. The flames were just following this command. They changed colors when they coiled around the silver thin poll. Blue, green, yellow, and purple, the flames shimmered and preformed a dance.

The doctor whispered another word. And the all the flames in the hearth magically and mysteriously climbed onto the poll, being carried carefully over to Adren’s ankle, the doctor placed it on his bruise. Adren didn’t scream, he felt the pain drain away and make him dizzy.

The silver poll overflowed with all sorts of colors of flames, crawled onto Adren’s leg and swallowed the pain away. But right after Adren noticed, the flames died out and the doctor put the poll back in his pocket.

“What the heck was that?” Adren shouted surprised.

“A healing spell.” He answered back.

“That’s trickery!” Kazuhi growled.

“No, this is not a trick, it heals others miraculously.” He told them and walked away. Then he lifted the door flap up and walked to the other room of the pharmacy. He was mystifying, the doctor.

“What was that?”

Adren widened his eyes and tried to remember the colors of the flames and the words, it was so familiar to him. The spells, the charms, and the extraordinary magic, it seemed like it was all a fantasy. It made him more inquisitive and the thought of it made him peculiar.

“You’re surprised too?” Kazuhi said taking a closer look at the hearth. “I never have seen that spell before.”

“What? You’ve seen others?”

“Yeah, Lamya is not that boring. It’s pretty dangerous there. Even my parents.” He smirked and then looked around. ‘I guess he thinks that he was playing a trick’, thought Adren. He glanced at his ankle and moved it.

It didn’t hurt!

“Spells? You mean there is more, magic?” Adren wondered. It made him excited. He wanted to learn about that until, he remembered his survival test. “Hey, about my survival test,… It was your fault Girly-Girl! I was so ready for it. My big day to be a hero!”

“Point that snotty nose of yours some where else loser. You’re never a hero.”

“Hey, I thought your looking for the Omen Kid,”

“ Might have found him already, idiot.”

“ I told you a million times! I’m not the Omen Kid!” But maybe he was wrong…

“ Then what about that scar on your head! That cross, on your head? Do you actually think all of the children get something like that on their head once in a while? Hell no!” Kazuhi was right. No body had a scar like that on their head, a cross that glowed red occasionally.

Maybe, maybe, he was right…

Just Maybe…

Chapter Two
My scar
Part Two

It rained the next morning, when Adren found himself lying down on a sofa. He felt too ill to get up; a pain was rousing in his stomach. It was like he was a cat trying to cough up something bad. It wasn’t hunger; it felt too strange for that. He got up, stretched and then threw himself to the nearest bathroom to see what was wrong.

“I’m not sick,” he scowled at the bathroom mirror above the sink. “But I do look tired.”

He was still in the medical center, ill and tired. But at least his ankle was better, and he wasn’t so fortunate. Then again, he was queasy and nauseous. Soon at the bathroom door, the doctor appeared.

“Better?” He asked.

“No, I feel sick.” Said Adren darkly, he wasn’t up for any excitement.

“How unfortunate, and how upsetting weather we have today.” The doctor seemed disappointed. “Charms and spells have side effects if you know. Maybe you feel ill because of that?” He leaned on the door and fiddled with the doorknob.

“Side effects, spells have side effects?” Adren coughed, he never heard such a thing! Spells and magic was different than fairy tales!

“Spells, magic, and charms are actually a type of power called Orenda. It comes from our heart; it’s a power that mostly all of the Acacia people have. All of the Acacia people have his magic in their blood; our way of living is a bit different there. It’s pretty cool to have the power, it can be useful sometimes.” The doctor explained. Then he turned around to walk away.

“This world is pretty interesting…” Adren mumbled and bend toward the sink. Adren decided to freshen up after the doctor left, and washed his face. Then, he thought…

~*~*~*~*~

“You killed his parents? Where is the infant? I told you, if he comes back alive with an army, I’ll kill you!” A dark shadow rose.

“I diffidently killed him! We checked all over! We killed all the children in Nadezda!” A squirmy voice blabbered in the darkness.

“That kid doesn’t know how to use his powers! If he learns how to use his Orenda….”

The conversation stopped…

~*~*~*~*~

That memory just played tricks on his mind while he dreamt sometimes, and now, while Adren was sick and miserable…

“Loser,”

Glaring through the door and straight to the mirror, Kazuhi was watching Adren. Adren looked up at the mirror, he saw him. Then he splashed some water on his face and covered his face with his hands. ‘Ignore that jerk,’ said Adren to himself.

“What?” Adren said and removed his hands from his face. He was still washing his face now, impatient for the water to get warmer. But now disturbed, he searched for a towel and wiped his face. The memory was bugging him. Kazuhi was bugging him.

“You're up,” Kazuhi said watching Adren turn around with amusement.

“Stop it!” he snarled. His dirt blonde hair was wet now, dripping wet. He wasn’t so well now, he thought that something cold went up his spine and he jumped. ‘I’m miserable’, thought Adren and he looked at the bathroom window which was hidden by curtains.
He remembered when he closed them yesterday when it began to rain. He grew then, embarrassed.

“Well anyway, loser, I’m off. The search for the Omen Kid is still continuing.” He said. “It’s my duty to bring that child to the capital of Lamya, so the government can find away to control him.”

“What do you mean?”

They both walked out of the bathroom and sat around the heath, quietly. Kazuhi didn’t reply to anything after they calmed down and stared at the small blaze flickering and dancing about.

Pain soon emerged, when Kazuhi noticed Adren pinching his arm. He wanted the answer. He walked to talk, he wanted to know. Then Kazuhi took a breath and thought, how can I tell him all of this? He chose not too.

“Is that kid, in danger?”

Kazuhi had it! He was tired of the pathetic questions, he wanted to move on and take Adren to the capital of Lamya. He wanted to finish his quest; he was tired and bored about it. He found him. And he was finished; all what was needed to do was to take him back to Lamya.

“Only, Acacia people have Orenda right?”

“And what, you think you have that power?” Kazuhi said and laughed if it was a joke. Impossible, he thought for a moment.

“No, I think, I’m the Omen Kid after all.”

He said it innocently and seriously. Even his eyes were narrowed and focused. So many memories where overflowing Adren’s mind now. It was true.

Adren flipped his bangs off his forehead and showed his small scar on his head. The little cross above his left eye, felt like it was growing into pain now. It started itching and then bleeding. Adren scratched it, and then a red spark shot out from his scar!

“What the hell?” Kazuhi shouted in amazement. It was glowing now, but it was different than usual. It was like Orenda! But it was impossible. “Orenda, that’s Orenda!” Kazuhi said in a shocked way. He got up and stared mouth opened at Adren who was amazed too.

But then Adren heard someone scream….
Someone suffering…

~*~*~*~*~

Nedazda was at its end…

The smell of fire was never this strong before, the villagers never escaped so quickly either.
The ground quaked the villagers ran.

Flames, people, and dust, scrambled and scattered everywhere. One word, ‘Hope’ was never to be seen. Watched by all the villagers, the master was ready to make his appearance. And how cruel and wicked he was, the villagers heard of him. His name, his face, and his son, he had started it all.

The Tanek Warfare had just begun.

His son smelled the dusty air, coughed and then glanced at his father. The boy was still five, curious and dark. Master noticed something familiar in the dust and in the suffering crowd. He smirked, and turned back to his horse behind him. His son, silently watching his father, grew impatient and wanted to know what was going on.

“So they do know… I’m here.” Master snickered and whispered.

“Father, what’s going on?” He blurted.

“Don’t worry.”

With a few words to say, he grabbed a sword and a dagger from his velvet sack, tied the rest of it around the horses neck.

“Wait!” The master’s son cried.

He didn’t stop; he walked into the dust and disappeared.

“Wait,” it echoed inside the child.

~*~*~*~*~

What was that?

He opened his eyes. He closed them and repeated. His eyes were trying to adjust to the gloomy ghostly light. A blurry white color appeared in his eyes and it simply faded after blinking a few times. He gasped for air and then coughed and spat.

Shock?

“Adren!”

I heard him. I felt him shaking me furiously. But I didn’t wake up. I felt like I was being plunged through a dark hole with an endless bottom.

Was this all a dream?

“Snap out of it!”
Kazuhi?

Adren opened his eyes slowly and noticed him lying on his back on the floor. His stool that he was sitting on was on its side. He had fallen off his chair, clumsily?

“What happened? Did I fall asleep?” Adren placed his hand on his forehead and saw Kazuhi kneeling next to him with a worried look. It was obvious he saw Adren collapse and fall over.

“No, you freaked out and squirmed onto the floor like mad!” Kazuhi explained, “I was scared too, you just passed out after your scar began glowing!”

“It wasn’t glowing, it really hurt! Crap, I passed out.” Adren murmured. Kazuhi ignored.

That memory, that dream, Adren thought. It was now bugging him, the more he thought about his scar, the more anxious he got. He didn’t feel like a fool or a thief at the moment, now, he felt the past growing into him. His past he had forgotten ever since he was abandoned at age five. He felt the pain pounding and twisting his lungs which made him sweat. He breathed deeper, he shivered. He was scared.

“You ok?” Kazuhi called. His eyes were reflecting the small flames from the fireplace; he looked a bit gloomy as well.

I guess he noticed me, thought Adren glancing at him after Kazuhi spoke. Adren felt more settled when he knew that Kazuhi noticed that he was worried. Then a log in the hearth crackled making a brittle rough sound that echoed in the silent room. I don’t know what I’m doing; Adren thought and then buried his face in his hands.

Thinking was all what he could do now at a time like this, he hated to mettle around when he was serious and a bit foolish. He was embarrassed now, to know this young boy that he hated. They were starting a friendship, but Adren didn’t accept it. He just blushed harder when he glanced at Kazuhi staring blankly at the fire.

“You…you’re going t…to take me to Lamya?” Adren assumed with embarrassment.

“What are you so nervous about? I’m not sure if you are the Omen Kid anyway. A loser like you, who would think you… the Omen kid, would be that…mischievous, stupid, fool.” Replying with some dim-witted comments Kazuhi got up for his stool, and grabbed a large black bag near the door flap.

Curious to the way he was acting, Adren got up and followed. Woozy and a bit wobbly he finally got up too.

“What are you doing? You’re ill aren’t you?” He asked. He slipped the handle of his sack through his arm and placed it on his shoulder. He was leaving.

Adren had a blank face. He was like a small duckling following his mother, which the role of the mother seemed to be Kazuhi. Adren blushed crimson. Then soon grew nervous.

“Err, leaving?” That was stupid, Adren thought.

“No, sightseeing,” he said. Then Kazuhi disappeared after he raised the door flap, and turned around with an odd arrogant smile sitting on his face. He looked happy and calm that moment. Adren stared in a trance. He was dizzy, and dumbstruck.

When did he start acting so stuck-up?

Adren stared blankly at the door flap with a blank mind. He gawked with not thoughts or plans for the day; he gawked because it seemed to comfort him. And he stared in space because he was avoiding his past and his scar, which was soothing itself. He relaxed and began his long day.

Yes, I will continue. I would be nice to see new readers, read this. Please Comment, I've been crying because I never got any comments. I really want to improve. And if you want me to continue...comment.

Chapter Three
Redshanks!
Pirates, Treasure, and a Father?
Part One

Adren held a glass of water in his hand. The doctor was at his side with a stethoscope, checking his heart beat, and his ankle. Adren was ill now, sick and drowsy. He was given pills to take with a glass of water but, he rejected to take them. He wanted to be just the way he was, miserable, sick, and disgusting.

He was sitting on a mattress and comforted by the doctor. Ignoring him, Adren stared out of the window and continued gawking and gazing. It was still raining.

“You want to feel better don’t you?” The doctor asked. He placed the diaphragm (hollow cup-or metal cup) on Adren chest and then it happened.

“Cold! Cold!”

Adren whined he shook his glass and swerved it in the air making it spill the water onto the doctor’s face. His first check-up was now going to be his worst, if he kept this up!
He swerved again and over again, squirmed and simpered. Refusing to do what the doctor instructed to do.

“That’s it! Adren, if you want to be well and better, calm down and sit like a good lad.” The doctor pulled the glass away from his hands and continued.

“Sorry, nervous. That’s all,” Adren chuckled anxiously.

After being ill and a bit dumbstruck, Adren tried to start his day with a check-up. But it wasn’t going too well. The doctor thought that he was mostly sick and dumbstruck instead of Adren. Adren was fooling around again, trying to make a bit of mischief. And if he blew the doctor’s top off, he would have to go back to his shack, alone.

“Here, open your mouth!” The doctor replied pulling out a small flashlight.

“What are you going to do, doc?”

“I’m checking if your throat and tongue. It’s simple, calm down and take a deep breath and,” Soon the doctor was interrupted when the door flew open.

What? Who?

There, at the door, a tall murky man stood. A brown leather hat and boots wet and muddy, a patch eye, a blouse and a black vest with matching pants, was worn by the man. Some thought he was a legend. A ridiculous man he was, but with an odd crooked smile, he glazed with his spare eye at Adren.

“Redshanks, from Tanek! What brings you here?” The doctor soon recognized him clearly. He greeted him with a bow then they shook hands. Even Adren grew curious. Standing there was a young man about twenty-eight, he was tall thin and dark.

A pirate!

“Our ships need’n more supplies, and were also look’n for some mates.” Redshanks calmly said and again, glanced at Adren. “Kazuhi Imura, I need to speak to him. He surely arrived here, right?”

“Like you said he arrived, he went searching for you an hour ago. He was here this morning, well and fine.” The doctor continued. He tried to even introduce Adren which turned out in an odd experience.
~*~*~*~*~

“This is Adren.”

Adren glared furiously suspecting that Redshanks and Kazuhi planned the whole thing to capture him. He made a disgusting face and then spat right onto Redshanks blouse. He crossed his hands and stared at the pirate. Redshanks was surprised but his face then grew to a smile.

His smile was very handsome indeed. His face was handsome too. He was well shaved, his hair was the same color as Adren, and his eyes seemed purplish too. They seemed too related.

“Well, I guess he’s a tough mate. Short, but tough. He reminds me of my small mate too,” Redshanks beamed pulling his hand out to pat the boy on the head. Adren growled. He ignored it! He wasn’t angry; Adren thought and felt something lifting inside him.

“You’re a pirate,” Adren murmured. He flushed crimson and then burst his top. He just hated pirates for what he heard about them.

“Aye, I’m Sir Captain Redshanks of Tanek. I’ve been travel’n around the destruction world many times; I’m more of a merchant. But aye, yes, lad.”

“You’re that stupid legend that all the kids talk about! I hate it!” Adren growled and shoved his fist in this face.

“What is it to hate about, Adren? He saved Nadezda! He is our hero ever since the Great War of the Territories!” The doctor cheered but Redshank’s smile vanished. He soon made a disgraceful face.

What was the matter?

“Redshanks? What? Oh-,” Even the doctor soon recognized it. He was depressed and cheerless now. Redshanks whispered a name and then the doctor nodded. Adren frowned and looked up at Redshanks who seemed heartbroken. His face grew pale his eyes were wary, and he mouth was dry. He gawked sadly at the little boy, Adren.

“What the heck? What happened?” Adren asked.

Redshanks stared again at Adren for a moment and then, fell to his knees. He was disappointed. Something was up, and it bothered Adren too. He felt Redshank’s pain, for some reason. Redshanks missed something, something that was close to him when you talked about the war, Adren thought.

His lips grew cold, his lungs twisted into a knot, and his stomach was stirring badly. Adren left it echo through him. He knew this feeling before, like when he thought about his past, it irritated him and made him sad. He didn’t really know about his parents. He had nothing to rely on, maybe Redshanks too didn’t rely on anything either. They just lived alone in their own worlds cold and frozen in time.

“Evan, he was my mate, son. He died in the ****’n Great War, he was with me. Five years old, and gone. I left um with my horse.” He sadly replied with no happiness whatsoever.

Wait! My dream!

Adren remembered…

~*~*~*~*~
“I saw that dream!” Adren blurted. He looked at the man.

“Mate, it’s alright. I’m fine; you don’t need to cheer me up,” he thought Arden was lying. It was impossible to dream that, Redshanks thought. He adjusted his pirate hat and then got up. The doctor apologized.
“Its fine, I’ll try to get used to it.” Redshanks tried to smile but, simply failed to do so.

“I guess you’ll have to wait for Kazuhi to come back.” The doctor said. He glanced at Adren staring in a concerned way at Redshanks. He dreamt of the war! He did! He was telling the truth.

No one believes you, you’re a kid.

He didn’t believe it, Adren didn’t trust the pirate now, and he felt his heart growing heavier. A slight of pain was sprouting of out of him. It bugged him a lot.

Wait!

“I did have that dream you dimwit! I don’t lie! There was a man and a kid and a horse watching a battle! They had yellow hair and purple eyes too! I was it in my dreams! Believe me! I will describe it more!” Adren squirmed and shouted. He jumped up and down trying to prove it. But he only proved the pirate that he was a spoiled brat.

“Calm down, Adren!” The doctor hesitated and grabbed his arm.

“Look at yourself pirate! Look at me! We have purple eyes and blonde hair! Don’t you think were related? I had that dream!” Adren shouted. Was he trying to prove that Redshanks was his father? What was he trying to prove?

The doctor looked at the two of them, and clearly he noticed! They were related! Something brought them together; they had something in-between them that the doctor, never noticed before.

“Holy cow, look at the boy, Redshanks! He looks exactly like you when you were little.” The doctor scrambled to Redshanks side. Redshanks narrowed his eyes. Maybe?
But the war, no way. It was impossible!
Redshank’s son?

“Mate, what are you trying to prove?” He looked down at he small boy. He took a better look. No, he’s dead! The words ran though his blood when he took several moments gawking at Adren.

“Laika? Is that you?” He finally said. His son.

Adren widened his eyes. He heard it before, far away in his past. It was probably a mistake, he thought. There was no way it could he his father.

The rain poured harder. And the wind was tapping the casements. There was silence. Did Adren finally find his father? Then the thunder boomed. Lightning flashed and the lights went out. A black out, great, thought the doctor. He ran out of the room to find a flash light.

But the two others were in a trance staring at each other for miles. Could it be?

“Dad?” Adren whined back. In the darkness they stared longer. It had too though; it was the only thing that could protect him now. He never had a father or a parent in his life, why not? Why can’t he be Redshanks son? What if he was? He shivered, froze, and then felt the throbbing pain coming back to his scar.

“Laika!” Redshanks widened his eyes in amazement. It was possible! It was his son! It had too; something brought them together since they met each other. Adren scar grew redder, his face was all pale.

Dad...?

Chapter Three Part Two

Chapter Three
The word, Alone
Part Two

Adren sat on the wet sand. He was thinking about Redshanks again, who took off running for Kazuhi. He tried relaxing and calming himself. Laika, my old name, he thought. He knew he heard it before, with a deep sigh he dropped down on the sand and gazed up at the sky. He never knew a day like this was ever going to happen. Maybe he would find out about himself now.

“No, I’m Adren.” He told himself. He trusted that name. Laika was another person in his body now, it was his past.

“Laika!” Redshanks voice rose.

He remembered the exact tone Redshanks cried out when he called Adren, Laika. He was nervous, he was worried, and Adren thought and wondered. Adren brushed his bands off his forehead and checked it, it was hot. Adren was probably anxious as Redshanks was. He wanted to know about Redshanks and back, Redshanks wanted to know Adren.

Looking at the gray clouded sky, he knew it would rain. The tides were coming in too, and a thick mist was coming closer. The sounds of the waves crashing into the sands grew louder as it echoed into Adren’s ear with seemed to not work with the outside world that moment. Overflowing with thoughts and mysteries, Adren ignored the world outside of him.

He heard silence for a longer moment, and then a wail. Adren sat up and glanced in the far distance. There was a large wailing sound again, and a big splash. In the water the whales were passing by. It was unusual to see them here, thought Adren. It was growing closer to the rainy season now, with means it was fall. The grasslands and meadows were all golden colored, it was rarely green. Summer had dried out the colors away and replaced them with pale bright colors. Adren noticed that while he passed the harbor. But he was forbid to go there, it was dangerous there sometimes. Pirates and murders were sometimes aboard the ships. Rumors spread about it one time.

Adren got up and brushed the wet sand off his face and his butt. With a crooked smile, he grabbed the nearest rock and threw it in the ocean. He wanted to tease the whales, he thought shivered through him.

“HEY!” Some one familiar shouted.

Adren turned around; it was Kazuhi.

On a small cliff near a hill, Kazuhi crossed his arms and scowled. He probably saw Adren’s small teasing trickery. Adren waved and smiled, Kazuhi sneered and shoved his nose in the air.

“What’s your problem? I”M TRYING TO BE YOUR FRIEND HERE!” Adren glared back. Who does he think he is? Adren scoffed.

“Redshanks found me already, so I came searching for you.” Kazuhi called back and skid down a rocky slope. He jumped onto another boulder, and then tried to impress this foolish friend.

“I can find my way back you know! I know Nadezda more than you do!” He pouted and scowled. He narrowed his eyes to look wiser.

“Then if you know this place more than me, do you know what the capital of this island is?” Kazuhi questioned. Adren couldn’t answer that, mostly no one except the priests in Nadezda knew that. The capital had a historical name from the War of the Territories.

Adren dropped silent. And Kazuhi wasn’t surprised. Snickering down at the blank-headed creature, Kazuhi answered back.

“Walther, the capital.”

“How do you know that? ONLY PRIESTS AND WIZARDS KNOW!” Adren shouted.

“You don’t need to be jealous; I’m not a wizard or a priest.”

“SHUT UP!” Adren furiously shouted. He covered his face with his hands again, embarrassed. He was too nervous and sweaty. He huffed and took a deep breath. He wanted to beat Kazuhi up!

“Jealous,” He called.

“I’m not!” Adren growled and crossed his arms. That pissed him off really bad. He knew deep down he has jealous no matter what. He couldn’t win over this stuck-up twerp.

“Just admit that I know more things than you do! Right?”

“Wrong! I’m way smarter than you!” Adren cried out loud and turned around furiously. He walked slowly and then started to feel depressed, so he paced and ran. Kazuhi soon realized and tried to follow, but Adren ran faster away.

“You don’t know how I feel! I know more, because…” Adren thought, he wanted to tell Kazuhi about his experience with Redshanks and his past. That was worth something to prove, it was an experience of the war. He knew something that other people never knew about…he had a memory about his scar.

“Wait!” Kazuhi called back. He ran thought the wet sands in his sandals. Even though he was a stuck-up kid, he never noticed a pile of seaweed lying on the shore. And he clumsily fell when he got tangled in it. He deserves that, Adren smirked and turned back as he ran.

“Adren…” Kazuhi whispered when he got to his knees. He felt bits of the sand rolling around in his mouth and soon he spat it out. All covered with sand, disappointed and confused, Kazuhi walked back.

~*~*~*~*~

“Pathetic Loser…” Kazuhi scowled and kicked the rubbish off the ground.

Walking alone wasn’t a satisfying way for Kazuhi. He was now alone walking straight down an unpaved road. The ground was wet and the dried leaves were crunching under his feet. But he ignored the sounds, he was thinking again.

Why was Adren so upset? Kazuhi asked himself in a confused way. He didn’t get it. I can’t understand him, Kazuhi thought. He stopped at the in middle of the road and turned back. Behind there was a blonde haired girl about sixteen…

“Who are you?” Kazuhi asked. He was curious.

The girl had a bouquet in her hands. She was dead silent. With her light blue eyes she gazed at Kazuhi and approached him. She walked slowly and hummed a little tune. Still Kazuhi stood on guard he clasped his hands on his sword near his waist belt.

“Who are you?” he repeated.

“You don’t need to know my name, kid,” She smiled, like an angel she began glowing. Her face was pale and delicate and her lips quivered. “I know the answer for your question about Adren.”

Kazuhi was shocked. He made a surprised face and soon glared at her.

“Don’t be alarmed…I’m a goddess from a planet two thousand light years away! I have powers to change the future and the past!” She tired to impress Kazuhi.

“I don’t need any help” Kazuhi asked. He looked at the goddess suspiciously. Yeah right, goddess, Kazuhi thought.

“Adren needs help,” She said.

Kazuhi looked blankly at her. He didn’t understand. Help?

“Kid, probably don’t understand, but, Adren has tantrums about his past. He can’t ignore his past because he wants to find out about his family. He flares-up and bursts! And if you continue to treat him with no respect, the Omen Kid might learn how to use his powers…” The goddess criticized.

“No, it’s impossible to use his powers yet!” Kazuhi barked.

“’Yet’, that word will worry you, kid. That’yet’ will turn into months and then days and, soon the power will emerge!” The goddess glared. He hissed and clawed at his face. But then…

Simply disappeared…and the bouquet of flowers in her hands turned into dried flowers, and dropped right on the dead leaves on the road. How mystifying she was…the goddess.
Kazuhi has a feeling she had seen her before but, he simply ignored it and walked off.

~*~*“Kid, probably don’t understand, but, Adren has tantrums about his past. He can’t ignore his past because he wants to find out about his family. He flares-up and bursts! Kazuhi heard the words once again play over in his head. The words bugged him. Irritated him, echoed, and screamed through his ears. He had it!

“His powers will not emerge!” Kazuhi told himself. He was sure it wouldn’t happen. He had faith in it.

Then a drip of water fell on his face, and another one. And it drizzled all of a sudden, gazing up at the sky Kazuhi noticed. He was all filthy already from the beach; it didn’t matter to keep clean anymore. Alone, he hated it. Kazuhi hated the word ‘alone’, it hurt him when he tried to say it.

“I’m sorry…” A wailing voice peeped from behind a tree near the road. It was familiar.

“Adren?” Kazuhi asked the tree instead of the voice.

From behind the tree, covered with blood stains, was Adren. It was him, his eyes swollen and narrowed. Tried and depressed, and even trying to impress Kazuhi, Adren was leaning on the truck of a tree. He was trying to get up, but he fell when he tried too. Kazuhi was now stunned. He was frightened at the small sight.

“A-Adren?” Kazuhi blurted the name in fear. He tried to look at his small friend. But he closed his eyes when he took a second look.

“I’m fine,” Adren called out. He took a small step forward and then fell straight on the ground. His face was buried in wet dried leaves and covered with dirt. And an expression of pain was shown all over his pale bruised face…

Kazuhi watched him fall, and he fell on his knees to the ground. Did he release his powers? He thought in mystifying ways, and sadly and in panic he crawled over to his friend to help him up.

Sorry!

I finally started school and I was very busy. I'm very sorry! Anyways...HERE IS THE NEXT PART! Sorry this part is short.

Chapter Four
Marvelous Things
Part One

“W-Where I’m I?” he woke in a start. His eyes were flashed open and he tried looking around. Covered in bed sheets and blankets Adren was on a mattress. He sighed and then grew tired again. He was again, at the pharmacy safe and surrounded by familiar faces. He blushed when he saw he had bandages and sad faces gazing at him, worried.

“Adren!”

Kazuhi?

“Laika!”

Redshanks?

“You spent three days in coma, we were all very worried. Adren, do you remember us?” The doctor said. He pats Adren on the head and was so relieved everything was okay. The other two, Kazuhi and Redshanks were sighing too at ease. They tried to comfort but Redshanks could hide his tears, this child he knew... was something…

“A man doesn’t cry!” The doctor laughed, the doctor was relieved too.

“I-I guess you-u… were all worried….” Adren coughed and spat some saliva on the bed sheets. He couldn’t remember what made him all pooped and beat up. He tried to think.

“Loser…” Kazuhi bet down and hide his face. He crossed his arms angrily and then sighed. He was glad; Adren thought and stared at him with a pale face.

“Kazuhi was worried; he seemed to be so depressed when you were in bed unconscious.” The doctor explained. “You must feel all dizzy and uneasy…Are you alright? You don’t have any pain? I used Orenda on you again. A sleeping cure spell.”

“Thank-…” Adren was interrupted.

“You still need rest, sleep Adren. You’re still not well and some one really used a powerful spell on you…Orenda power, I don’t like messing around with it. Orenda can take lives away, it’s serious.” The doctor muttered. He paused, turned around, and walked to a book shelf. Grabbing a large volume of medical spells, he dug through the pages and showed Adren the picture.

“I really hate troublemakers and murders using this forbidden spell,” The doctor said sadly. He notice Adren reflecting his expression and tried to cheer him up. They were all frowning.

“Adren, what happened?” Kazuhi muttered and then slowly raised his head. His eyes were narrowed and fixed on Adren’s eyes.

“I don’t r-remember…” Adren scratched his head and then yawned. He tried to remember but, unfortunately he couldn’t.

“Whatever, I’m glad your fine. Get rest.” Kazuhi slowly made a crooked smile. Adren nodded and yawned. He closed his eyes with no worries and then smiled peacefully trying to get rest.

~*~*~*~*~

“I’m glad that Adren is alright,” Kazuhi said sitting down on the wet grass outside of the pharmacy. Redshanks sat beside him revealing his other eye hidden under the patch eye. Kazuhi didn’t have any interest in it though; he was mostly all relieved that Adren didn’t seem to release his powers. Some one cast a horrible spell on him, Kazuhi thought. But why? Does someone else know he is the Omen Kid?

He crossed his arms and thought.

“You better take the small mate to Lamya soon before Evian does.” Redshanks said. Kazuhi widened his eyes and slowly burst anger.

“Stop talking about Evian!” Kazuhi shouted beginning to grow grumpy.

“I guess your problems with that mate are not over yet…” Redshanks chuckled. He liked teasing Kazuhi once in a while. But soon there was silence and the sound of waves crashing the rocks below the grassy cliffs.

“Evian is a-a terrifying wyvern! I don’t suspect him as a dragon. He knows how to use spells to transform. Hiding in human bodies…”

“What are you saying; the mate is running of with a human body?” Redshanks glanced at the dark haired boy with astonishment.

“He looks more like a young territory guardian if you ask me.” Kazuhi said back. He crossed his arms and tried to remember.

There were not many types of dragons in the destruction world. But the common dragons were in these two…

Wyvern-earth element dragon- it has a serpent’s head and the claws of an eagle. It has a long tail which holds poison. They have a green or brownish color. These dragons are popular in Lamya but they come in handy anywhere. They are helpful with spells and transformation.

Icedrakes-ice/water element dragon-They are white and light bluish in color and they inhale hail and snow. They can’t fly because they have no wings. In Tanek they are very popular. They are popular because of its way of inhaling snow; in Tanek the weather is sometimes harsh and cold. Icedrakes are also easy to tame.

Evian was a selfish wyvern; it was hard to call him a dragon. He had a happy-go-lucky life, but it mostly spoiled Kazuhi. His appearance was more dark and taller than Kazuhi. His hair was unusual color, dark blue, with the wrong way of transforming, and he sprouted light bluish wings form his back which made him suspicious while he walked through small towns. His eyes didn’t match his hair so it was a reddish greenish color. He looked a bit ridiculous and silly but he did look like a human or a territory guardian.

“You still have that small flute around your neck?” Kazuhi asked Redshanks. Redshanks looked at his blouse and then pulled out a small flute. The flute was a bit different form others though; it was made out of glass.

“You know when we talk about dragons; it brings me memories when you gave me Evian .And when Ronmad was alive.” Kazuhi smiled. He began remembering the marvelous things in his past life.

“Ronmad….” He tried to feel the shape of it with his mind, “how many years was it when it happened?”

“It was during the war, I was six. And your son and I were given the dragons from protection…. Laika named my dragon Evian, and I grew all angry at him… so I gave a pathetic name to his dragon, Ronmad. After we settled down and heard the war was coming our direction… you wanted to go off to the war, and your son followed. ” Kazuhi paused and felt like crying when he tried to talk about Laika and the dragons. That memory was the happiest time in his life to be with his friend…

“I don’t believe you remember that….Kazuhi” Redshanks buried his face in his hands and rubbed his eyes. He then lay down on the grass and gazed at the sky humming a tune.
He loved remember that time when his son and Kazuhi were beginning their fun days. He missed many things in the war and experienced a life more differently. His personality changed over the years thinking about it. Then he left his mind blank and sighed.

The wind brushed his lips and a faint smell of hope flittered towards their way…Kazuhi felt the breeze too and wondered. Some marvelous things and memories we all had, Kazuhi thought and lay down too. They stared at the dark gray sky…blank minded.

“Redshanks, is the ship ready?” Kazuhi rolled his head in the grass.Redshanks didn’t reply, he smiled and sighed again. Kazuhi rolled back and showed a smiled of pleasure to the sky. His smile vanished when the figure approached though. Kazuhi was shocked, he gasped.

Redshanks glanced at Kazuhi’s direction to see what was wrong, he looked dup and he too gasped. There up in the sky was the wyvern. Evian the wyvern, flying above then beginning to land.

“Holy crap!” Redshanks shouted and grabbed his hat. He shoved it on his hat and put his patch eye back on. His head was facing the sky now, surprised and a bit nervous. Kazuhi crossed his arms and sneered ignore the dramatic landing.

Now Evian was here.

Chapter Four Part Two

Chapter Four
Will you remember?
Part Two

Adren was better now; he had felt the pain and the illness drain away from another healing spell. The doctor said he would be better if he calmed down and lay down a bit. He tried relaxing but, something was bothering him. It was this urge to set off to other places.

After hearing faraway stories and Kazuhi’s experiences in the past, he had enough confidence to travel. He crossed his arms and turned over in the cot. And another thing bothering him, he wasn’t comfortable.

“I want to get outta here,” Adren said to himself assuring that he was alone now.

He slowly stretched as he got up and slipped pass the doctor and doors as he exited the pharmacy.

I’m glad I got outta that crappy shack, Adren thought. He smiled and began talking a long walk back home to his abandoned shack in the fields faraway. But he grew more into boredom when he heard no surrounding noises around him. So he sang, he sang like a sick duck.

“Well, I went out day,
To walk alone~!
And this stupid ****’n boy came out to me,
And said he was smart,
But who would trust that fart,
I was better you see~!
I had this crappy scar since I was born,
And I knew better than that old Barbie boy!
I was cool and handsome,
He was tall and ugly.
Who would go out with that boy?”

Adren was mostly shouting when he was singing this senseless song. He was mostly out of tune and loud. He scared the birds and rabbits away when the farmers were feeding their animals. The farmers snickered and even threw stones at him to make him stop. His singing was bothering everyone; he was always a bother and a trouble maker to everyone.

“So that’s how you sing, *****,” Kazuhi crossed his arms as he appeared behind some bushes. He was watching with boredom at his stupid friend.

“Yeah, so I sing badly! I know already!” Adren pouted. He absurdly made a funny face and turned around facing the rice fields.

He remembered about his Survival Test, again. It made his more frustrated thinking about it when Kazuhi was here…

Kazuhi noticed his troubled face and knew what he was throwing his temper over.

“Adren,” He spoke in a simple tone. He tried to apologize and Adren had to get over it. Even though it was Adren’s fault for feeling sick and twisting his ankle, I have to say sorry, Kazuhi thought.

“Uruse~! (Japanese word for: shut up!)” He shivered when he tried to take a step away from Kazuhi.

“You’re going on a journey for a lifetime. Survival Tests are nothing compared to the capital of Lamya and their exams for Orenda students. You have Orenda, and maybe you could take an exam to enter and learn magic. Maybe a loser like…” He was cut off.

“I’M NOT A LOSER!” Adren shouted and sprang around. He pounced to the side and surprised Kazuhi who fell over unexpectedly.

Lying frightened on his Kazuhi’s chest, Adren has his hands coiled over Kazuhi’s neck ready to choke him. Adren’s face was all red and sweaty; he didn’t know what was making him do that. He didn’t feel like himself at all. He felt different, but fixing his eyes on to Kazuhi’s he knew something was wrong.

What was he doing? Was he that short-tempered?

“A-dre-n!” Kazuhi moaned under his weight. He gasped for air when Adren’s grasped grew tighter. He felt more pressured. And they paused in the road and looked at each other for a moment and, with solemn feelings, Adren got up and grew much embarrassed.

“Ah, s-sorry!” Adren squirmed to calm himself. “I was stupid, to admit it! I know I’m a loser! I-I…You’re stuck up and stupid too… though! Ur… I love Nadezda! I LOVE MY HOME! YOU JUST DON”T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MY HOME! MY PLACE, THIS IS WHERE I STAY, ALWAYS!”

Kazuhi wiped the dirt off his but when he got in his feet. And when he faced he ridiculous boy, he knew he was right. Maybe he wasn’t so stupid and foolish as he looked.
He raised a finger and smiled warmly.

“You’re right, this is your home. And I really don’t know anything, really. I’m sorry too.” His eyes flashed when he smiled. Kazuhi gently slipped the chain with the glass flute off his head and onto Adren who didn’t hesitate to notice.

“What is it?” Adren said, he examined it closely and put the flute to his mouth. He blew into it making a high pitched noise that Adren or Kazuhi couldn’t hear. It played beautifully when Adren played around with the fingering as it when to a low scale. He played some simple tunes first like; Mary had a little lamb and even some difficult songs.

“You play well for an amateur. But that is a dragon caller,” Kazuhi said making a troubled face as to say, you shouldn’t have done that.

“Why are you so troubled? Adren pouted and crossed his arms; he let the flute swing down his neck and dangle. Paying no attention what so ever, Adren saw something spark up from the flute, a flame..?

“Shwerrrang!” It echoed.

The two noticed and gasped. It was magic!

Kazuhi bent over to the flute and ordered Adren to take it off and place it on the ground. Something was not right about the flute; it was acting weird like it was broken. Adren and Kazuhi circled the flute like curious black birds and circle again to examine what was going on.

“SHWERRANG~!” It whistled slowly. It almost sounded like the wind beating the crap out of a window. It made shattering, teeth chattering, monstrous sounds, then a white light flamed.
A white to good to be true flared up. Like a white that was stinging your eyes as if you were blind. The white color was evil; it blinded Adren and Kazuhi. And they felt so clear and impractical when they saw the color below their eyes.

It vanished at the end but, it brain washed the children and made them mystified at the end when it stopped playing, and grew back to normal.

~*~*~*~*~

“WHAT? THAT FLUTE CONTROLS DRAGONS!?” Adren shouted in amazement. His head was too thick to even notice.

“Look at the flute! It says, ‘Dragon: Romad’. Can that solve anything?” Kazuhi snickered and turned his head toward the greenery with no intention of where he was going. He was all dirty with filth, after the long day.

His head his so opaque, Kazuhi thought and gawked at the surroundings; he noticed again it was bad weather.

Gray clouds were starting to form, little by little it had turned into a giant sky of darkness and wet. It was going to rain no matter what, and the only thing is Kazuhi had do was to arrive at the harbor on time with Adren. But one thing Adren didn’t really know about was where he was going heading to. He had thought all this plans of the rest of the day were to be with Kazuhi because he was extremely bored.

“IT”S GONNA RAIN~!” Adren moaned and stared at his confident friend.

“Yeah so what? Don’t gawk at me, loser brain. I’m not the one who got hurt and sick and stuff.” Kazuhi snorted, careless. But deep inside, he cared a lot for others, even for his stupid friend. He just had to hide those warm feelings inside him and snap it shut when he met others he cared for. Adren noticed his change of expression, and he grew curious to what he was thinking.

So with curiosity he tried to speak up.

“Kazuhi why do you always have to wear that lame kimono of yours?” Adren said laughing after he said it with pleasure.

“I wouldn’t laugh if I were you.” Kazuhi carelessly said. He ignored Adren’s stupid questions. It bugged him a lot. But Kazuhi continued and lead one another down the path toward the harbor or blue seas.

~*~

Crossing the boulders and muddy hills they staggered over a grassy meadow to see a mind boggling sight! THERE IN THE SEAS…WAS A GAINT SHIP! Bigger than a blue whale it was! It was ignoramus! Gigantic!

“WTF?” Adren muttered and pulled Kazuhi’s arm to make sure if he was seeing right.

It was too big to be true. And there at the end of the ship someone Adren recognized was there waving with pleasure at the two. Adren narrowed his eyes and then saw it! Redshanks! And a funny man with wings including the doctor. They were all in the ship waving and smiling as if they were all waiting for the moment.

As Adren continued gasping, Kazuhi looked at his friend and thought. He doesn’t remember I guess, Kazuhi beamed at the thought. But it doesn’t matter, if he is the way he is, let it be. Spoiling and telling about his past is to boring to him. Leave that a mystery, Kazuhi though and glanced again.

Will he remember the time we were little and played with your dragons if I told him his past? Maybe not, maybe he wouldn’t ever remember. He just acts like that, so clueless and dumbstruck…He looked at his friend and then together walked across the field to greet their friends waiting in the ship near the harbor.

Good=xd! ^^;
A few errors here and there but, I think you should continue. Heres a idea for the next chapter...
-how about explaining more what happened about Adren's past.
-add kazuhi to the chapters, I like that dude...(munches sugar)
-Red is ok and describe the doctor a bit more...a
yeah thats it. I'll keep a eye on this though.

Thank you. Chapters like this take along time for me to start and finish. I hope you don't mind the spelling errors or anything. My english is not very good.

-Your idea on the chapter might not be so bad. Kazuhi is a pretty nice character. It reminds me of Sasuke in Naruto...

-Redshanks, I might have to describe him more often...err...

-The doctor, I'll have to come up with a name...and the story isn't really finding its plot so well... urrr.

-I might have to fix alot of things in the story, well anyway, thanks again for the commment.

Chapter Five Part One is UP!

Chapter Five
Part One
What was that feeling?

“Are we there yet?” Adren asked.

“Shut your trap, how would I know?” Kazuhi murmured, ignoring the twenty-first time of his stupid curiosity.

Tired of the sea air, Kazuhi grew to a thought that were ever Redshanks was taking them wasn’t that far off. They were aboard the ship an hour ago, it made sense to stop by soon and get more supplies on their way to Lamya. Kazuhi sniffed the air and then spat out a feather which ridiculously fell into his mouth as he yawned. He looked up and knew it.

“Holy ****! Phoenixes, tons of them!” Adren cried out when he saw the flock.

The captain, Redshanks, controlling the helm looked up with pleasure and smiled. His face was shown properly after removing his hat and enjoying the sunlight.

The two boys wondered off to their thoughts in a while, as they saw the fiery birds fly in many directions sand curiously circling their ship. One perky and a bit stupid looking squawked and tried flying over to Adren’s direction but unfortunately missed and splashed into the waters.

“ARRRIKEEE!” it yowled.

“LOOK! THERE! IT’S DROWNING!” Adren pointed. “WEVE GOTTA SAVE IT!”

But the ship moved on, and Redshanks’s smile grew to a frown as he ignored that thought.

How could Adren ignore it, he hated to leave the bird drowning like that. It was too horrible to imagine for a bird. The phoenix’s wings had to stay dry or else they couldn’t fly.

“Kazuhi come on!” Adren cried with a sad face.

“I’m not helping anybody, especially you.” Kazuhi crossed his hands with no respect. If Redshanks ignored it, ignore it. He was the captain controlling the ship. With just the doctor, the captain, Adren, and himself, they had to stay aboard until the next destination when they find a crew.

“It was you stupid trick that brought me onto the ship! You led me here! It was your ****’n fault! I hate you so…I WANT TO KILL YOU!” Adren said making a pose that he was strangling Kazuhi’s neck. He choked when he made the funny noises but stuck his nose high in the air and bent his head down below to the strong waves crashing on to the sides of the ship below.

The tide wasn’t so high, and it barely rained that morning either. But soon the sun will be hidden by the clouds the next day because in the land of destruction it wasn’t very sunny. It was mostly terrible weather a many suffer of that.

“ARRKIEEEEE!” The phoenix splashed in the water suffocating with fear. Trying to walk on water it slowly flapped its wings and tried to fly but failed instantly. No, it was suffering!

“ARKKIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”

Adren made his mind, if no one was going to help it he would. He ran and threw off his pajama shirt. (WHAT PAJAMAS? Still wearing pajama’s….better get some new clothes...)

“What are you doing?” Kazuhi said in an irritated way. Not another stupid idea, He thought. He pulled Adren’s hand to stop him. He glared to say, no, don’t go.

“DON”T STOP ME!” Adren screamed back.

Redshanks threw the helm and turned to Adren’s direction. He narrowed his eyes suspecting Adren was to pull off an impressive act. That Laika…What is he up to now, Redshanks wondered. Was he proving he was brave to save a life?

“ARRRRRRRKKKKKIEEE!!!” it was the last sign for help.

“What?” Adren shouted and spat on Kazuhi’s head. He was more than furious, he was fuming red.

“Disgusting! You are not going in there, do you hear me?” Kazuhi protested. His face was pale compared to Adren’s. He was so worried that something was going happen…

“Maybe it’s time for help?” A familiar voice said behind Kauzhi…

EVAIN!

Spreading his blue wings widely he didn’t seem surprised that Kauzhi never called for him. The tow boys stared blankly at him for a moment to wonder what he was doing on the ship.

“I thought I told you to go back home! Back to mother’s! NOW!” Kazuhi crossed his arms.

“Trying to act-cool in front of your friend-” Evian was cut of bit Adren.

“If you came to make that bird life suffer by wasting my time, then shut up!” Adren shouted he messed his hair and threw himself over board which made the captain speechless.

“SHASPGHH!”

He fell unknowingly into the water. The other phoenixes passed by with curiosity and watched. Far in the distance the drowning bird was giving up hope because it could no longer fly without dryings its wings.

~*~*~*~*~

It was before the war…

“Laika! Let’s play tag!” A dark haired boy shouted. He was wearing a light blue kimono and a gold flute around his neck.

And across the meadows they were playing, Laika was on the other side with dirty blonde hair and big purple eyes. He was wearing a blue shirt and black pants which already gotten dirty by rolling in the mud.

“I’ll get you!” Laika shouted as he ran through the field with an excited smile.

They giggled as they ran, and called out for their dragons to come. Laika blew in his glass flute and from out of the sky a snow white dragon slithered though the field with full speed.

“Yes….?” It asked in a smooth voice.

“Let’s play tag!’ Laika cheered.

The dark haired boy blew in his flute and waited. Laika waited beside him and watched up at the sky…

He didn’t arrive, he never came.

~*~*~*~*~

The four and the phoenix sat around the center of the ship, huddling around a small torch. Slowly finding all the ingredients to mad soup they created something more nasty looking than expected.

It was night now, nothing more to be expected. There on the ship, there was nothing much left to do but to get rest and continue on to the next stop.

“Dinner is served.” The doctor smiled and said. He approached the sleeping phoenix and placed a small warm bowl of the soupish thing by its side and waited.

Then as everyone got a share of the dinner, Adren dropped his bowl and spattered it all over his shivering body which was still wet from the small rescue of the phoenix. Redshanks dropped dead silent as so of the others and watched the small boy make an uneasy face.

“Aw…what are you doing? Pay attention more when you’re eating your food!” The doctor said and threw a napkin at him. But Redshanks lifted a finger to make everyone silent.

“Laika…?’ He asked.

Silence. Adren didn’t answer. He just said three words…

“I’m dead-scared…”

Kazuhi made an odd expression and the others were all worried. What was he thinking…? Was his past more frightening than he imagined? What was wrong with him?

He couldn't remeber how he felt about things back then, and it frightened him. He couldn't really remember anything else expcet for the frightening times in his life.
