Because the writers won't bring anyone together, I (a few months ago, actually, I just never posted) invented NoShipping. I really don't think any of the major characters will ever get together. They can make Misty think romantic thoughts about Ash. They can hint towards Oak liking Deliah. They can do whatever the freak they please, as long as they keep fans watching, aggrivated, and wondering.

The only ship in Pokemon where the characters have a remote chance of being a couple by the end of the series at this point is May and Drew. They're traveling alone in Johto and probably to all future regions after that. The end of AG made it clear they had mutual interest in one another and they're rivals forever.

I wouldn't be surprised if by the last episode of the series when all the characters are reunited, May makes a comment about her and Drew being an item or something of that sort. It's something I could see the writers doing easily too without going overboard.

It's the only ship that can be paired as a couple by the time the show ends since their romantic development will happen off screen in the time gap between now and when the series ends.

I completely agree with the NoShipping thing. I'm a supporter of this, definitely!! XD
 
As far as ContestShipping goes, I agree with Scott85 to a certain point.
It does seem like they end up together...
But at the same, Pokemon is aimed at small children, and no romance will likely ever happen.

So I agree with the NoShipping idea... as its true... but still, its fun to like shippings, and pair characters together...even if they ultimately don't end up together. <3
 
Eh, it really depends on how Ash's journey ends. If the writers create a proper conclusion then PokéShipping could be involved. (Or another Ash ship, though Poké would be the most likely from our current position.)

Okay, but I doubt any of them had a name like NoShipping. They all probably just said something like this:

Title: nobody will ever get together
Post: i cont beleeve yu peepel.yu thinc peepel lov them but not!

Or are they intelligent, formal, and have a their own Shipping name like mine?
 
I've actually thought of a name like this. Or maybe it I thought I did because the idea came to me when I said to my sister, "In the long run, I support no shipping."

Hahahah. XD No, I'm not trying to steal the spotlight or anything, but I've never seen a thread like this. I just know people who don't ship, don't ship.
 
I know a lot of people who don't even know what Shipping is.
 
Well, all my favorite ships are the ones that have tons of subtext but are not canon. Which is why Pokemon is such a fun fandom. <3
 
Like I said before, the writers like to torment you into watching it, waiting for a relationship, to keep their ratings up. They're aiming the cartoon at everyone now.
 
XD Actually, I think you misunderstood me. Let me clarify: I like ships that have lots of subtext but are not canon, and I would like them less if they actually became canon. I think that's why I tend to pick shounen genre anime/manga for fandoms: lots of subtext for various pairings, but guaranteed most (if not all) of them will never be canon. I like it like that. <3

I always stop paying serious attention when the conspiracy theories start.
 
I posted a thread on Serebii for this, and got in trouble for mocking shippers, saying it won't happen, and posting a thread that didn't count as a shipping. They said it was pointless.

So, do you guys think it's pointless?
 
In a word? Yes.
But hey, shipping in general's pointless.

And I can see where they can get the mocking shippers thing... but Serebii's just somewhat uptight. xD;
 
Shippers scare me, especially the fierce debates of burning emotion that takes place between Scott and JoJo where they go over each and every miniscule detail of the post and point out stuff.
 
Hey, aren't you Kojiro on Serebii? For easier recognition, wouldn't you want to change it to Habunake?
 
*laughs* If it makes you feel better, Habunake, it scares me too.

And I'm against NoShipping on principle because it always turns into an excuse to call shippers stupid for enjoying their sad hobby, which is pretty hypocritical coming from anyone in the Pokemon fandom. Besides, saying that no characters in the show are likely to get together is missing the point.
 
Although, Japanese Shippers are okay, cuz they make awesome fanart. XD
