Please list things that give you a wave of nostalgia (a longing for the past, things that gave you enjoyment as a kid) when you think about them. :)

I was thinking about when I was a kid, and I remembered how I used collect Pokemon cards.

And the Tamagotchi/Digimon virtual pet toys were a massive fad when I was in primary school as well.

I... don't know if I get nostalgia like normal people. Whenever I don't see something for too long and then come back to it, it feels like something totally new rather than a rush of memories from the first time. Like my retro Pokemon games. ^_^

Nothing will ever make me want to go back to the times when I was a kid. In fact, I've retconned everything in my life before the year 2000.

Old Pokemon eps? I really miss the old days...

Sometimes I do get these waves of nostalgia, when I think of watching season 1 episodes rented from the library with my sister before bed, or coming home from a soccer game to watch the tape of the Pokemon Advanced ep I'd missed that morning.

So yeah, Pokemon is very nostalgic. Also yu-gi-oh, Arthur, and the Magic School Bus

-I had a Tamagotchi pet that i got as a gift at 9, I used play with it all the time until the batteries died.

-"Speed Racer" was a anime that introduced me to the genre of anime, (though i did not know what it was called back then) I used to watch reruns of it doing the time in the 90's where they aired on "Cartoon Network".

For the first time in five or so years, I broke out my old Zoombinis CD yesterday. BIG nostalgia rush. I used to adore that game when I was little, and I naturally felt five years younger playing it. ^_^

Other then that, I always go into a nostalgic state when playing Pokemon Crystal.

I bought a new Pokemon Silver game and that gave me a rush.

The original Spyro and Crash games, nothing can beat those....the newer games of those series are just...no....

Pokémon, of course. That was a huge part of my childhood... clearly.

Also, Super Mario World, Rugrats, Disney movies, playgrounds, trips to the mall with my family. I was also really into trains when I was a little kid, so they usually remind me of my childhood.

Certain songs trip my nostalgia trigger whenever I hear them, like stuff from the 80s. Summer also makes me feel pretty nostalgic for some odd reason. I also get pretty nostalgic when I hit my friend's blog; he's got scans of toy ads from the 1980s that bring back a lot of old memories.

A lot of Pokemon related stuff really brings back the old days for me. Particularly older Pokemon episodes or when I see a card from the original base set or fossil series.

Songs and artists that were popular back in the 90's, all bring back memories and often remind me of Pokemon and my childhood. TLC, Lou Bega, Collective Soul, Coolio and especially Sugar Ray really bring me back.

Also...
Bobbie's World, Goldeneye, Mario Cart, Malcom in the Middle (<-- Really does), Montel Williams, Riki Lake, Full House, Beast Wars, Animorphs and finally Legos, I have hardcore Lego flashbacks.

Nostalgia pangs me on many an occasion and I can't even begin to count the amount of things that qualify for such for me. I could go on all day... Pokémon, Dragonball, Half-Life, Doom, Quake, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Alien, Predator, Chrono Cross, Transformers.... the listing simply would draw on forever and beyond. But I tend to have a deeply-situated appreciaton for nostalgia myself and I find that it rather denotes a time where we all just want to view the world through simpler term and just harken to whatever object of nostalgia being sentimental calls back to, even when newer products come out.

But yeah, I love nostalgia.

-80's and 90's music.

-80's cartoons such as He-Man, She-Ra, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I just started reading the "Animorphs" series again, and every time I pick up one of the books, I feel a wave of nostalgia.

... Those things came out when I was in high school. Crap.

Legends of the Hidden Temple, Nick Arcade, Movies like Old School and Animal House, 80s and 90s music (especially techno), and a lot of other things. Ack, now I feel old. Thanks a lot...

Pokemon cards, yeah, big part of my childhood.... I even found a primas guide listing all pokemon cards at the time (including vending machine, promos etc...) that I got then whihc brought back memories.

Also I have started watching "Gatget boy" and "Inspector Gadget" again, good ol stuff. I also for a while started reading the "Goosebumps" books again as I have so many of them that I got when I was younger.

Some games on Amstrad such as "UN Squadron" "Burnin Rubber" and "Strrider" "Indiana Jones and the last cursade" "Ghouls 'n'n Ghosts" etc... make me feel nostalgic as I owned an Amstrad 6128+ when I was about 6-7 and I had a lot of games on it and it brought back memories

Nostalgia...hmm...

Well, any time I see an old Pokemon episode, I feel kinda like that, or when I play older video games, like Crash Bandicoot or Spyro or Super Mario Bros.
Not sure why, other than I used to spend the majority of my time doing nothing but playing video games as a kid xD.

One thing that actually comes to mind in-particular is Smarties, the candy. If I eat them, it reminds me of the Christmas I got my copy of Blue, because I spent most of my time in my room, listening to the radio, playing Blue, and eating Smarties out of the fifteen-some-odd amount of candy boxes my grandfather had gotten me ^_^;;

I know that probably sounds odd, but it's true xp

Let's see...Saturday morning cartoons (in the 70s), riding my bike, 80s music, Ferris Bueller, and getting the high scores on Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man.

4 major things:

- LeAnn Rymes. One Christmas I got a huge set of Thomas the Tank Engine trains, which I played with for years, and mum got "Blue" by LeAnn Rymes and played it all day. It was the last Christmas before my parents broke up, and it's still my favourite after all these years, and LeAnn Rymes' music takes me back there.

- The smell of new Pokemon cards. I don't smell it that often anymore, but it reminds me so much of my childhood.

- When I read old report cards from early primary school, it takes me straight back there. I was insanely happy back then.

- This one's an odd one. We used to have a dental van come to school, and it had a very distinct smell. I absolutely love it, and every now and then I'll find a folder or something made of soft plastic that smells exactly the same. I'm not sure what period of my life it reminds me of, but I get really nostalgic.

Other than those, there are tons of songs, games, and tv shows that trigger my nostalgia. The song that gets me the most however, is "High" by the Lighthouse Family. That song is the epitome of the 90's for me, which, as much as it may pain me to say it, was my era.

The original 2-D, sidescrolling, Sonic games in which you destroyed you enemies with your own momentum.
