A lot of people seem to be complaining about how some things in HGSS that have been changed. But what do you want to be kept?

The only thing I want unchanged is the ending credits

Nothing. Only thing you can keep nostalgic is the story and how it has 2 regions as well as the characters. Everything else cannot be kept the same.

Pretty much everything from the original was nostalgic.

What was the most?

Hmmm... Music!

If remixes retain their old "character", I'll be happy.

Route 26/27 - if they fuck this one up, I'm gonna be batshit.

Well you can't exactly keep music the same. I mean its not going to be with the loss of 8 bit.

Yes but its not going to be exactly perfect how you want it.

I like the remixes I've heard so far... Cherrygrove being the one I'm worried about most, seeing as it seems to have changed its tempo. I'm sure it'll be fine though.

Scratch that. I'm worried about Ecruteak the most for reasons we discussed last month. Route 26/37 comes in third merely because it was such an amazing song that suited the part of the game it was used for.

I alwas play w/o music 'cuase it makes me mad.

And the the whole game is made 'cuase of nostalgic. So they probaly gonna keep a lot the way there were.

Yeah. Game Freak aren't thick. They know that the slightest mistake in music or whatever and we'll burn down their headquarters. =P
That's probably why they're releasing the soundtrack. Like I said, they aren't thick, they know they'll make alot of money off of it.

Uhm, no. These games were not made for nostalgia, they were made for money. Nintendo's target audience is little kids, and these games will be for them first, and the remaining, older audience second.

However, something I really want to be kept is Clair refusing to give you her badge, and then you venturing to the Dragon's Den and talking to her grandfather, and then later receiving an Extremespeed Dratini from him. ^_^ Dragon's Den music I want to stay as close to the original as possible.

not so much of a nostalgic thing that should be kept, but should be added: the Champion battle music from FRLG. Either for the battle with Red, or maybe even Green, as the last Kanto gym leader.

Seriously, it's the only battle theme from RBY that didn't make a return in GSC

^I think that counts as nostalgia, even if it isn't GSC nostalgia.

Remakes driven by nostalgia = fail.
If you want nostalgia, go play the originals.

I absolutely hate how everyone thinks that gamefreak owes you all this game. They don't owe anyone anything, so stop acting like HG/SS was made to satisfy some fag's nostalgic wet dream.

I would rather that they make this game a fresh experience than a beating of the old dead G/S horse.

^ I only made this thread because people like you were complaining

Well even some of the characters have altered slightly, look at Silver and maybe some gym leaders pokemon have changed slightly, well at least their pokemon movesets might have altered.

Your right though, the only nostalgic thing is that the magic and concept of what GSC is, has been retained, but made 900000 times better

Actually the fact that so many of us wanted it, maybe even Japanese pokemon fans might have wanted it as much as everywhere else did, wouldn't you think that at least would have had something to do with it? If GF knew there was not going to be such a demand for the games, would they bother creating these remakes if they knew they would not sell well? Of course knowing that some many want the game is reason enough to make them and make them well, so they know they will sell and if made well enough, sell more copies by people saying how good the games are. Many companies do this, its "supply and demand" if people want something and a company can make it, 9 times out of 10 they will make it and usually benifit from it

I would have to agree with you. I was hoping that all the music from RGB would have been retained in GSC for the Kanto side of the game, from the Kanto surf music, to the pokemon battle themes and so on.

I'd rather play the originals. I'm seriously planning on not getting the game at all. (Moo is outgrowing Pokemon! Gasp! Although its been happening for a while...)

But I think some GS music would make it nice ^^

Outgrowing pokemon?

HOGWASH, no such concept.
You can lose interest in it, but there so such thing as outgrowing it. You're never "too old" for pokemon!

As for me, all I care is that it's in Johto.
Lolol

I just turned 23 and still love Pokémon.

Well', I would have liked the original intro music to be preserved. I'm a fan from hell of the main Pokémon theme, so I hold dearly each game's arregement for the song thus I wanted HGSS to respect the original GSC tune just like they respected FRLG's intro song, but unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not wanking about it saying I want it to stay 8-bit. My point is that the intro song (the one in the cutscenes) got completly replaced and, especially, the main theme's first 10 seconds are missing (those were missing in Crystal's title screen too, but I expected they'd use GS's original version instead of Crystal's as the basis). Other than that, I have no complain, these remakes are going wonderful.
