Well we know that if you get the Arceus: To the Overcome of Space-time shiny Pichu, you can meet Notched Ear Pichu in Ilex Forrest. So can you catch it? If so isn't HeartGold and SoulSilver compatable with trading with Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Since it is maybe there might be some kind of secret code that lets us get Notched Ear Pichu now? Any thoughts.

If there was, people would know about it. We knew about Arceus when DP first came out due to the magic of hacking.

However, we did not know about the movie Arceus and what he unlocked because no one thought to check.

Quick, someone scour the games with fakeful encounters of everything!

Yeah, good luck with that one guys!

I guess we'll jsut have to wait until the games come out (I know, shocking right?) before we can get our answers. Better than looking for something we aren't sure exists.

If it was possible to catch NEP and trade it back to DPP, hackers would have found its sprite in those games forever ago.

I am guessing that the NEP won't be able to be traded over to D/P/Pt. It is encountered when you have PCP and bring it to ilix forest (or so I think) and it triggers an event of some sort at ilix shrine. SO I assume after the event you can catch it, or why just have the NEP and no way to obtain it? So as for now, I highly doubt the NEP will be obtainable in Platinum at all, so we will kave to wait for the remakes.

However, we did not know about the movie Arceus and what he unlocked because no one thought to check.

Who knew to check for something like that?

Says who? Just because the sprite doesn't exist doesn't mean it can't be traded over and use the regular Pichu sprite.

After all, all you had to do to trade the red Gyarados back to RBY was remove all Gen II moves. It was blue there. Gasp and shock.

I think it's entirely possible the NEP won't be caught in-game, although I see no reason to go one way or the other. If it is caught, it'll probably revert to a normal Pichu when traded.

Posted that, but in the wrong thread. Whoopsies.

I'm with TTEchidna on this. How can hackers look for something they don't know exists? It's been proven before that they missed stuff. So, NEP could easily be traded over and use a pichu sprite.

Haha.

Anyway, I'm surprised they decided to include NEP in a game. But I highly doubt you'll be able to own a NEP. It's just a design quirk to make it seem special.

Oh my... oh jeez. Seriously, you people jsut sicken me. Yes, I'm looking at you PotatoMcCheese. LOSER.

Yes! He defiled your SWEET and PURE anime character! He must be BURNT at the STAKE! Okay, he's going to be burnt at the stake anyway because of the semi-visible vagina, but if it weren't visible there would be no reason! I see why you're freaking out on the guy and don't try to deny it, because you know as well as I do all you care about is the fact that he presumably gets off to that kind of thing!

Speaking of getting off to things, I really don't get why Nintendo is pushing NEP so hard. It is, in my humble opinion, a new low for the series. Couldn't they have thought of something original, at least? I mean, it's just a big cop-out and an excuse for pushing one of the Pokemon they want people to like. I, for one, wouldn't be disappointed if it was unable to be caught. If it can, as for trading over...Platinum specific items can't be traded to DP, so I don't see why NEP couldn't be restricted in the same way. If there was a sprite, they'd find it. End of discussion. Even if they don't know if it exists or not, there'd still be someone who'd stumble upon it accidently. It's not like you have to be looking for something in order to find it.

She's, um, a game character. At least, foremost.

Now we're just spliting hairs. Oh and the thread derailed.

Anyway, I still think that the NEP is just going to appear as a special overworld sprite that's somehow involved in the event. Of course, we know nothing about what happens for the time being so anything else is speculation.

Is it that difficult a concept to understand that Japan loves cute things and are willing to promote them for the sake of money?

Well thats true, Japan loves cute things, give Japan cute things to love. The games are originally designed with Japan in mind, given they originate in Japan.

Also I think the reason a pichu was chosen over another pokemon was: A) its cute and B) since Pikachu is the mascot and the nearest thing to pikachu in Gen II is pichu it would be good to go of, also didn't either Ken Sugimori or Jinichi Musada say they liked Pichu alot and went into time designing it, in the Platinum interview?
