Beyond the fact Hunter J is the best villian in the anime franchise she had an appeal. Then it came to me. She's kind of reminds of Carmen Sandiego. Not in looks or personality but in organization and plot.

If anyone has seen the old Carmen Sandiego cartoon (not the game show) you ma get what I mean.

Both have personal armies and advanced technology and J's two appearances have gone similar to how an episode the Carmen Sandiego cartoon would go. The dectectives would stop her plans but she'd escape. J was thwarted both times but managed to escape.

Again the comparison isn't perfect. J is a mercenary in it for only the money why Carmen was an intellectual more interested in the thrill of the hunt. Though both do sport trenchcoats.

I don't know, maybe it's just me but eitherway J is one of the best things that's happened to the series.

XDDD Now that you say that, I agree!!!!!

Yes, I do like J as a villain a lot, though I do wish she'd appear more. I can't wait until she gets hers. Separating Satoshi and Pikachu deserves death!!!

I know you said in similarity to the cartoon, but I can't help but picture Rockapella singing "Where in the world is POKéMON HUNTER J?" now.

...I see.

I can see it.

J appeared in the dub already, right? And she didn't sound like Carmen Sandiego, right? Now I'm sad.

As odd as this claim is, I believe you are correct. There are character similarities between the two. J certainly has injected the franchise with a much needed villian that isn't wooped by the hero every episode. Hopefully we will see more of Team Galaxy soon too.

I'll go with Carmenshipping.

Or better yet, J is Giovanni's long lost sister.

I don't like J very much at all, but I can see a resemblance :) I hope she works for Team Galactic so if the Team gets defeated she does too ^^

She's competent...? She has cool Pokemon...?

I don't know why I like her, myself. Maybe it's because the TRio dislikes her as much as Ash does and got lucky in the episodes she appeared in with the whole blasting off thing (I think they didn't blast off in the end of the latest J episode, at least?). More TRio not blasting off and more TRio working with Ash to achieve a similar goal = good.

Bannai got to appear after Magma Dan disbanded (even though his appearance was fucking pointless). Besides, it would really suck if the writers just went with a cheap two-birds-one-stone solution and make her conclusion simply be to go down with Ginga Dan (unless she had a nifty backstory with them and got sent off along with the organization in the most dramatic fashion possible, much like, for example, the Read or Die OVA. But what're the odds Pokemon would do that, especially outside of a movie? ^^'). Personally, I hope J continues to have her own plot rather than be tied into Ginga Dan's like many people are expecting (hasn't it been clearly indicated, if not stated, that she's freelance?), and ends decently with its own conclusion. It could show the anime writers actually are capable of a decent, longterm villain storyline of their own rather than always relying on game-adapting.

You shouldn't be sad. She sounded like Arukenimon.
Haven't seen Digimon in forever. She the girl (spider? (I think that for some reason)) that was with Mummymon (how's his name spelled?)?
Wow, I remember nothing.

I don't know who J is but now I wanna see her after this comparison.
