NYCC - minor Movie 11/Season 12 info

Straight from Tom Wayland's mouth at New York Comic-Con today: a Broadway actor named Carter Anderson - whose credits include Wicked and Mary Poppins - was cast as Zero, beating out Dan Green and Sean Schemmel. Wayland was very enthusiastic about him, and if this guy really did beat out such veterans, I can see why.

Wayland also dropped the name of another entirely new actor who I assume is playing Newton Graceland, and it appears Jamie McGonnigal has a part too.

Speaking of Jamie McGonnigal, he said during a panel that he has a new role in Season 12 - that of an 'adorable blonde boy.' Unfortunately that is all he said so we still must call him Jun.

Discuss.

(I am guessing this topic is OK considering the wide speculation on these characters, especially Zero and Jun.)

He couldn't have been very important as the only "Carter Anderson" a Yahoo search turned up is a country singer. Tom Wayland even forgot his name at first, saying the name of the guy who I think is Newton before Jamie McGonnigal corrected him. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Newton's actor is the Broadway actor and not this Carter Anderson. Wayland's memory lapse leaves a bit of doubt in my mind.

I do think they made a good choice with casting Jamie McGonnigal as Jun though. He sounds pretty close to Jun's hysterical Japanese voice normally, so he should be able to pull it off.
 
Well, maybe Battle Dimension ends before Jun's first episode (DP101 in Japanese order). I hope they made mistake in NYCC (which is possible), because I can't wait to see Jun's episodes dubbed ASAP, but I can see why PUSA can have want to introduce Jun as new character in first episode of new season. It makes some sense, even if it makes BD only 48 eps long, if I count right. But it's not impossible. PUSA already shows us that 52 eps per season (unbreakable rule for 4Kids) is not unbreakable for them and that they split seasons more logically than 4Kids used to do.

I'm pretty sure season 11 is 52 as usual and will end with the Darkrai episode
There was no need to break the 52 rule... they had a reason when it was better to end season 9 with the end of AG and later when it made sense to end season 10 with a three episodes tournament... but now there's no reason to do it
And since I find it likely they'll change to "Diamond and Pearl: Platinum" in the next opening (which will probably start with the first season 12 episode) I think it's very fitting to start the season with the Rotom episode

Maybe Jun's VA already stared to work on season 12 too (Jun was in season 12 in these Riley episodes) and that's why he said that
Not to mention the fact Pokémon.com says we just got into the last quarter of the season that means it's probably 52 this seasons since 52 breaks into 4 of 13 episodes...
 
I goofed. His name is Parker Anderson, not Carter Anderson. I don't know why I made that mistake, but once again, the guy couldn't have been a big name in either of those plays as no searches turn up material of him.
 
Woah, cool to hear! I got to talk with them too, but all I asked of substance was what actual Pokemon Wayland voiced, which include Bibarel, Gallade, Machoke/Machamp, Gastrodon in the upcoming Galactic eps, and others. Anyway, I'm always up for hearing new talent on the show, and I've always thought McGonnigal should be getting more prominent work.
 
Did anyone find out who's playing the three Galactic officers introduced in the new eps (you know, Cyrus, Mars, and Jupiter). People are VERY interested to know.

For some reason, even though his voice would fit, I'd be really pissed off if Green was Cyrus. I honestly don't know WHY, and despite the impression I seem to be giving, I LIKE Green's acting for the most part.

"More logically?" There was nothing illogical about the way 4Kids broke up their seasons.
 
While there were too many episodes involved for it to be realistic, it would've been preferrable had they made a season break at the beginning of Advanced Generation rather than the middle of the Yogirasu arc. It's a pretty bad jump-on point if you didn't see the previous season.

So, with all your common sense, you want SERIOUSLY tell me, it was logical to include part of Battle Frontier saga into Advanced Battle season? Or split Orange Islands saga between two seasons? I don't want to start 4Kids vs. PUSA fight here, but unbreakable 52 eps per season rule was definitely NOT logical.
 
... The logic is in that every season was the exact same length. Keeping things uniform is a good logic. Having exactly 52 episodes is logical because that's how many weeks there are in a year. Just because the season's cut off point doesn't necessarily roll cleanly with events in the series, doesn't make it illogical.
 
Yeah the 52 rule is good... not to mention it'd be really stupid to have a season of 35 episodes just because the orange islands are a new journey... for other countries who finally get a season after a year they waited it'd be really irritating to have it almost half of the usual 52
