Obama appointing Czars

you know, during his whole campaign I jokingly said he was a communist,
but now this is serious :smokin:
He is appointing Czars into office that control a certain area of the country (such as the Czar of healthcare, the czar of cars, the czar of energy)
that instead of going through all of the branches of government to get something passed, go straight to obama.
What do you guys think of this act?
I'm, personally, a little pissed that he's doing this, but just curious what y'all think.

(remember no flaming, Republicans and Democrats both exsist, some people may not agree with you, just chill -.-)

Oh it's fine, so long as they are voted in like other officials, they respond to all three branches of government, they don't infringe on the powers granted by the Constitution to government, and they are perfectly qualified.

So, I guess as you can tell, I hate the idea.
 
Almost all Presidential appointees must be approved by the Senate. Why would they respond to all three branches of government? They're part of the executive branch. If they infringed on the powers of the constitution, someone with standing could sue. And who's perfectly qualified for any position?

Of course you hate the idea. Your expectations are unreasonable.

Also, in Soviet Russia, the czars appoint you!

Having a person who isn't okayed by the Senate or the House doesn't sit well with me. So I disagree, but I don't believe they have "Control" over a sector. It's more like the overseer.
 
Czar's just an overused term referring to the people appointed to oversee various programs. Utah used to (and may still) have a porn czar. The technology czar may end up being a great benefit. Especially if he pulls America's collective head out of its collective ass in terms of how we handle cyber security on the federal level.
 
As others said, can someone(read:OP) provide a link of this.? It really isn't a big deal though.
 
Based on the links that GrnMarvl posted, it doesn't really seem like it's that big of a deal. Seems to me that he's appointing people to take care of stuff and the media is calling them "czars." Meh. Nothing to get hyped up about.
 
Well I don't think we need a cabinet position for each one of these things, that'd be ridiculous. And has Obama himself ever used that term?
 
A czar was BEFORE the Communists. The last Czar was overthrown by the Reds!
