I've gotten in the mood for doing covers to songs. My first one was 'Alejandro' by Lady Gaga, and you can find it in the Karaoke Challenge. Aside from that, I'm new to singing and doing covers. I'll eventually get better as I keep practicing, so until then, bear with my voice.

Note: I'm a little sick so my voice is somewhat raspy. XD

Story of Us- Taylor Swift

Look What You've Done- Jet

Somewhere Only We Know- Keane

To be honest, I'm not 100% proud of these covers, but I'm glad I finally have the courage to even post them. ^^
So yeah...these are covers, so this is my voice. =P

I really liked your cover of "Somewhere Only We Know," it's a really sweet song and is difficult to sing. My only critique of it is you should have tried to sing it in a softer tone, since I think the song is at it's best when sung quieter. But overall, you did a great job on your covers!

I love hearing your accent. :) I'll critique your covers individually.

"Story of Us" by Taylor Swift
I think you're under the pitch a few times here and there, so try using more breath support (but make sure you're breathing using your diaphragm - your shoulders should stay down when you breathe in). I like the emotion you put into this.

"Look What You've Done" by Jet
I think if you sing more softly (while still keeping the emotion), it would have been more compelling. For example, the lyric "Look what you've done, you've made a fool of everyone" - the first time you sing this during the refrain, I think if you had went easier on the word "fool," it would have made it more emotional.

"Somewhere Only We Know" - Keane
"Simple thing" - Nice transition into your upper range on this phrase. The way you sang softly here was pretty. Also, make sure you keep the "s"s at the ends of words as short as possible; dragging them out long makes it sound like hissing. xD And I think on the ending, you were supposed to go a bit lower, but no big deal.

Overall, I like your tone quality and emotion. What I think you need to work on is your pitch; like I said earlier, try focusing on improving your breath support. You should feel the air moving through your body without your shoulders rising and with your diaphragm expanding (your stomach puffs out when you breathe in). Keep it up! :)

Oh, and I think you do country best~

Thank you, Puppet. I'll try to keep this stuff in mind. ^^

Ironically, I dislike most country music. XD

Eh, I haven't posted in a while. I'm still sick, and there's no end of these allergies/cold in sight. So, I'm now adding a semi-decent song I sang. To be honest, if I wasn't sick and raspy in my voice, I would've done a whole lot better. ^^;;

@Karmazov: Well, shoot. That's not good. It worked for me before I posted it. o_O;

Well, I'll put something else there, and try to make it sound better. And thank you for the comment. ^^
