Assuming that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire also use the Poké Transporter, does anyone else find it odd that they'll be compatible with the games they're based on, even if only indirectly?

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire Versions → Pal Park → Generation IV → Poké Transfer → Generation V → Poké Transporter → Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Yeah, I did think of this before.
I thought it would be cool if they did something like, if you get a Hoenn legendary from the originals into ORAS, some special event could happen or something...

Lots of pokemon are about to come home after being gone for so long! There should definitely be something special you get for bringing your Hoenn pokemon back to Hoenn after all this time.

Which is ironic, considering that the original Ruby and Sapphire were known for cutting off all communications with previous games.

I think it's a good thing, let your little gen 3 friends see the 3D World they live in :O (unless they come from Kanto, then they can go chill in gen 4 Kanto)

I find it more weird that the Gen III pokemon (assuming you brought them into X/Y) would first travel 3 years into the future (Gen IV), only to go yet another few years into the future (Gen V), only to go to an indefinite point of time before or after any generation (Gen VI), only to return back to where they started.

The same goes for the pokemon you plan to transfer from FRLG to ORAS.

Don't you know? Pokebank, Poketransporter, and Pal Park are also time travelling machines.

Well it's not like they don't have time travel so sure, why not?
Or maybe Hoenn is inside of a space-time continuum shift of some kind that causes it to be out of sync with the rest of the world?

Let's say than in Sapphire, an Absol is caught in Route 120. Somewhere down the line, said Absol is migrated to Gen IV, then is brought over to Gen V via Poké Transfer. Now, once brought to Alpha Sapphire via Poké Transporter (or traded over from xy), what would the location data say?

It brings up a peculiar question whilst bringing your 3rd gen mons full circle, I'd say.

Well, up to B2W2, the game stores the data of where each Pokemon came from (i.e. which game it came from). But NOT specifically which route, or where in the game, etc.
So I'd assume X and Y also keep this data for each Pokemon.
And then Pokemon from previous Hoenn games would just say "Hoenn."

That sounds most likely correct. The data would probably say "Hoenn" and something about a long trip through space and time like it does in XY. Besides, that's sort of how they handled it in HGSS with Kanto-natives.

They obviously did this so that you can:
1. Defeat (insert Aqua/Magma here)
2. Rub it in their face by capturing the Legendary Pokemon that would create their ideal world.
3. Start time-traveling shenanigans with your time-traveling Bank Celebi.
4. Use said legendary pokemon they are trying to capture to completely wipe them out.
5. Cause game to break when Game Mascot fights itself... and wins.

That would be funny. It would essentially sending Pokémon into the future, then back in time into Hoenn, except Hoenn is now in another Space-Time dimension thingy. Dialga will be pissed at all this time disruption X). What have you done Game Freak?

Nintendo knew they fucked up, so they don't want that to happen again.

Nah, Palkia'd be the one to lose his sh*t. He don't take too kindly to people screwing with Space without his permission. #MysteryDungeon

My Palkia and Groudon (wich was caught in Ruby) going to Soulsilver and both owning the Pokeathlon and then coming back to Pearl. Also my Swampert, wich was my starter in Sapphire and it's in my Y version, going to Alpha Sapphire.

I really want them to somehow restore the original location data. I mean, having a Pokémon say it's from Hoenn when your already in Hoenn? Might want to ask where in Hoenn.

Sapphire (Route 101) --> Pearl (Hoenn) --> HeartGold (Hoenn) --> White (Hoenn) --> X (Hoenn) --> AlphaSapphire (Route 101)

And here's a path of a Charizard from FireRed.

FireRed (Pallet Town) --> Emerald (Pallet Town) --> Pearl (Kanto) --> HeartGold (Kanto) --> White (Kanto) --> X (Kanto) --> AlphaSapphire (Pallet Town)
