Official Max Staying or Leaving Debate Thread!

I think all the characters should get one...mods can close this.

I think he should stay, their are tons of things to explore his character.
 
I dunno... the writers seem to have used up a lot of his potential until he gets a Pokémon.

Max looks up to Ash but he is also returning home with May. If May goes to Johto, he'll probably follow her.

EDIT: Though I wouldn't put a 100% certaincy on him automatically following May.

That's not exactly guranteed, perhaps the writers will have him stay with Ash?

He does seem to look up to him more then May.

EDIT: Should we have a thread like this for Team Rocket?
 
Hmmm...

If I was a impressionable 8 year old (the writers can always say he aged to ten easily, and not really make anyone look different), would I go with my sister, or the person who won the Battle Frontier....

Maybe May will let Munchlax go with Max (they do have a bond that has been pointed out many times), then if May leaves and Max stays, the "DP" mascot as you say is still in!
 
TR doesn't need to be questioned. They follow Ash and his Pikachu, if Ash stays, so do they. As for Max, I just believe that for now, he is tied to May. I know that May would trust Ash to protect her brother, but I'm not entirely sure he is that individualistic yet. He acts tough, yes, but all little kids do, when they really aren't.
 
So it seems...but their have been hints of them leaving.
 
Specifically the recent parts of Team Rocket showing their "good" sides...

And the Harley thing in Rivals Forever. I may just be looking to much in these

I really don't care for Max, he is just more annoying than Brock is. Rather see Brock stay and Max go...
 
I think Max could easily leave even if May stayed - I mean, he's shown interest in several other things, including Professor Oak's lab and Tracey - I could plausibly see him becoming another assistant at Oak's Lab.

However, Max really has nothing indicating his fate either way - much like Brock, so Max fans, I feel your pain. There's also the problem, though, that Max has done pretty much nothing during Battle Frontier, while Brock has had a number of episodes where he played a major part. I cannot say I'd be surprised if the writers were getting bored with his character - I mean, there's only so much you can have an annoying young boy with no Pokémon do.
 
Max is boring and pointless. The only episode he actually did something decent was "Do I hear a Ralts?". I'd rather see him go away to never return. But at this point I'm not sure if he's going to stay or not. Hopefully he'll leave. *crosses fingers*
 
If May leaves, I'd guess that Max would follow her. I think he's kind of cute, but he really serves no purpose in the anime.
 
I think he should leave, go work with some professor, and return in a special where he catches his first pokemon. That's all the conclusions he needs.
 
As much as it hurts me to say this, Max will probably leave the main cast. He was thrown into the show as May's brother and since May's probably leaving... sigh. He's not going to follow her to Johto or whatever, but he has no place on Ash's traveling crew anymore.
 
I see it as either him or Brock leaving, I'd rather have Max leave than Brock even though both characters are stayle pretty much I'd still rather have Brock. Max hasn't had any episodes at all and does pretty much nothing, but if May stay's hey'll probaly stay <_<
